  1. Jumped back into the game after a while and after a couple of updates, and for the first time ever I'm experiencing motion sickness while playing (and I have nearly 450 hours logged on Steam). I did mess with the FOV setting because the menu note said that a smaller number helps with motion sickness and I know I'm prone to it. However, quite a few sources online are telling me the opposite, that a higher FOV is better! Is there a typo in the game menu? Can anyone elaborate? Additionally, folks with motion sickness, what FOV setting and mouse sensitivity setting do you use while playing on a PC? Trying to fix my settings now that I've messed them up 😂 (I also have to look away from the newish harvesting animation lol, but it's the same with the rope-less rock climbing animation that's been in the game for a while.)
  2. @Lone Walker @Bloodskye I can confirm that sound is linked to pre-existing snow shelters! The same thing happened to me in Forsaken Airfield where there's a snow shelter in one location. Startled me immensely the first time I heard it! Haven't reported it because I thought it was a known issue that pre-existing snow shelters are bugged (I got stuck in one)... but I can't seem to find it on the major issues list. @Admin can you confirm it's a known issue?
  3. Thank you so much for saying this out loud, it means a lot coming from the head of Hinterland. It can get a little frustrating and disappointing to see those sentiments you mentioned, to be made feel like I'm less of a "real" TLD player because I don't enjoy having Aggressive wildlife around. So, thank you for affirming that we are all equally valid in our enjoyment of the game, in ways meaningful and rewarding to us.
  4. Finally made it to Forsaken Airfield. I love this map, it's so vast! And the two cabins have shot right to the top of my favourite indoor locations list in the entire game. However, it's really sad that there is no list of surveyable locations for this map in the journal. Sure, I can wander around and use charcoal to see more and more of the map, but I can't ever check that I 'got them all' while wandering around, to give me the satisfaction of knowing I've explored every nook and cranny. Granted, my favourite 'challenge' in the game is faithful cartographer, so it's also the game mode I enjoy the most. Anyone else feel the same way?
  5. Welcome! If you started a new playthrough after the launch of the Expansion Pass, you won't have to start a new game just because you got the DLC – I'm pretty sure the content will be added to your gameplay. Perhaps @Admin can confirm?
  6. Thanks for checking – I'll have to have another look! I couldn't see them across the entire blueprint menu but entirely possible I missed them somehow. Are they 'Crampons' or 'Improvised Crampons'?
  7. This. Raph's apology post is really nice and I'm sure necessary for many folks. Personally, because I'm a reasonable person who has a basic measure of patience, I only had one criticism out of this entire hoopla – the lack of patch notes. Which have now been confirmed to be coming (yay) and Hinterland likely won't make that error again! Everybody needs to chill by a fire with a nice cup of rosehip tea.
  8. Just wondering if I need to put in a support ticket – I'm playing a custom game and have not found an option in my crafting menu for improvised crampons, and I definitely have the DLC. Can anyone else confirm or deny? Did you have the blueprint for the new crampons from the get go?
  9. There should have been a list of patch notes at launch. Period. SO many complaints across social media, forums, and Steam reviews have stemmed from the complete lack of written communication over 1) what is included in the first drop of the expansion pass; 2) what changes have been made to Survival mode. It's a real shame because usually the studio is so so excellent at communicating! Raph said on Twitter that there were over a 1,000 small tweaks made during the restructure and therefore it was impossible to have a change list, but I disagree. Hinterland should have found a way to summarise the major changes, list the expansion contents, and hint at the smaller changes. Releasing a video on TFTF is not enough.
  10. Just reading some of the replies here, I really don't understand how you can logically be okay with a DLC that comes in parts and not be okay with an early access DLC at the same time, if you think that the season pass system equates early access. In my opinion there's nothing "early access" about the expansion pass... It's just the first release after they COMPLETELY restructured the game, to have zero bugs would be a miracle.
  11. Yes the old 'guaranteed' spawns don't exist any more - all loot has been completely reworked so the Interloper community will have to work out where the new 'guaranteed' spawns are! From expansion pass website: "All loot tables and item placements have been refreshed, giving the game world an updated feeling. Resources have been themed to match the regions, to avoid all regions feeling the same."
  12. Alright, good to know, thank you! It makes me sad that I won't be able to apply that unique surveying experience to the entire island, but you must have your reasons to cap the achievement, it's already pretty hefty! In that case, for geographical completionists like myself, is there an official list somewhere of all named locations on Great Bear so that we can pretend to cartographer even without using the surveyed locations in-game? Could you please, please, please consider releasing one if no such list exists? I was really looking forward to doing another pretend cartographer run and including all the new places, but now, how will I know I've seen them all? ☹️
  13. This is not really a support request, but I thought I'd ask in case the devs or someone else around here has the info. I already have the Faithful Cartographer achievement on Steam, but I got it shortly before Blackrock was added to Survival - and I never managed to get to Blackrock on that save before the current wipe due to a hiatus. With the drop of the new expansion, I want to start a new 'faithful cartographer' and complete a list of all surveyable locations in one save again, including everything in TFTFT. However, in my new run post-TFTFT patch, I'm not seeing any of the expansion locations in the Surveyed Locations collection. (Come to think of it, I also don't think I've seen Blackrock on there.) Can I get a confirmation on whether the Surveyed Locations list is going to include ALL named Great Bear locations once more?
  14. I think it's inevitable people will have different feelings over whether there's "enough stuff" at the launch of the season pass or not - that's entirely subjective and relates to play style as well. I played for a few hours last night on a new custom save and am nowhere near ready to even set out for the new region! Astrid is wearing cloth scraps on her hands still! But I don't play games to rush through them... so the next expansion drop will probably feel like it's right on time, and I will have that fresh feeling of yet more new, shiny things to have and do on Great Bear. I bought the expansion at launch because I'm excited for the roadmap and want to support a game that has given me lots of joy over the years. That's more than enough for me. However, I also think the argument about "not enough value upfront" doesn't hold because it was made abundantly clear to people that by buying it at launch, they are buying into the roadmap and getting an unfinished product. We were told it will take 12 months to get everything that's being promised. And Hinterland made it clear nobody is forcing people to buy the expansion until they know exactly what's in it - so really, the only criticism that holds water is the baffling lack of a written list of features at launch. (If Hinterland is reading this, guys, patch notes?? Hello? Would save you all one of the big headaches that came with the launch, as in, people not knowing what's in it and expecting too much.)
