  1. Hi Piddy3825, I have just been looking at mods for TFTFT today and was reminded of some of your arrangements with the "Place Anywhere" mod. They were brilliant. I particuarly liked your turning the BR Hunting Lodge into a restaurant. Others that you did were impressive too. They must have taken a great deal of work. Writing this has reminded me of some other scenes, I think arranged by hozz1235, with lights theatrically placed here there and everywhere. Those scenes might not have required a mod, but required a lot of racing around to grab the picture before the fires or lamps burnt out. They too were very good. I am looking forward to seeing what the pair of you produce for TFTFT. Will it be aircraft landing along a flare path, or will it be a candle lit Teddy Bear's Picnic 😉.
  2. You don't sound as if you are from Scotland. O ye'll tak' the high road, and I'll tak' the low road, And I'll be in Scotland afore ye,
  3. I would prefer being able to burn them like normal fuel but only having them burn for 1 or 2 minutes. They would be so useful for times when cooking meat or boiling water and it needs just one minute more to complete.
  4. I tried the first shortcut in the airfield region, climbing out of the gorge, when I concentrated it wasn't difficult. I did not use it to go through to the actual airfield so I am not sure if the shortcut works both ways. There seemed to be a few possible places from where the gorge can be climbed out. I didn't investigate any of these.
  5. Thanks. I tried doing exactly what you did, along the same branches but never got across the jump. I sprained everything that would sprain and ran out of bandages. I also tried the other shortcut you suggested without watching your video. I failed on that too. I shall try both again just for completeness. After falling back into the gorge I couldn't work out which way was to the airfield and which way to Transfer Pass. I need to leave markers along the gorge so I know which way is which. To make up for that I re-found the original shortcut that I lost. I was returning to the airfield wanting to kill the moose and the western bear. I failed with those objectives too. Very early in the game I found both bears and the moose but haven't seen them since when I have returned well equipped. I also wanted to find and map the ravine that DaGnome91 mentioned in another post. I failed with that too 🤕, in spite of my having covered and mapped almost every bit of the region.
  6. I went up there thinking there must be something special up there. I found nothing.
  7. Early in a Voyager game I found a moose on the ice below Island Cottage. At that time I had negligibble skill levels and equipment. There was very little chance of me killing it and getting that moose backpack. It stomped me when I tried. When I retuend better equipped I could not find the moose.
  8. I have just tried that a few times, and repeatedly failed 🤕.
  9. I spent ages looking for a route to the top of that rope climb, in the hope of finding something interesting up there, but I failed. I came to the same conclusion as you about it being opened up later in the game.
  10. I found that shortcut in my early days at the airfield. Since then I have not been able to find it. I have little incentive to re-find the shortcut as I like to call in at Junkers Paddock to use the work bench.
  11. There are a couple of places where indoor fireplaces have excessively bright fires. On my display the colours become staurated and lose detail.
  12. With Level 5 cooking in a Voyager game I have had food poisoning a few times. The last time was when I ate some ruined cooked meat. Before that I think it was due to my carelessly eating some raw meat. There seems to have been many changes to the deterioration of meat and its effects on your health. Be careful. Only eat dubious foods before sleeping. If you get food poisoning you can sleep it off without too much inconvenience.
  13. I returned to the airfield region to complete the mapping. I found almost nothing new, but managed to clear up a few black patches. I managed to map another cave, bringing it up to 9 caves displayed on the map. I had previously visited this cave but had been unable to map it due to the weather. I find it confusing that the caves on the map are just labelled "CAVE" and not given their name, i.e. "Gribs Cave". This circuit around the region was very much easier than earlier circuits. I had good weather most of the time. I had very little fog and few blizzards. On previous trips I seemed to have constant fog and blizzards. To counter the good weather I made a couple of silly mistakes. After walking across the empty area between the Surveyor's Memory and Mindful Cottage I turned the wrong way when I encountered the road and walked back almost to the airport. The other mistake was with my bow. I had been carrying two bows, to lighten the load that I was carrying I left a bow at the hanger but kept the bow that was in 100% condition. When I saw the western bear I readied the bow to find that it was a bow "in progress". I could not hang around looking for the bear cave with no anti-bear weapon, I retreated. I have been unable to find and map what DaGnome91 translates as either, "Sudden Ravine" or "Sudden Washout". I am about 95% confident that I have covered everywhere in the region so I am puzzled why I have not found it. I wonder if the trigger spot that activates the "New Location" message is so small that I have visited the area without triggering the location. Having very, very nearly mapped all of the region I shall now give up TLD until an update fixes the bugs.
  14. When people write about the problems of finding or not finding equipment it is important to mention the level at which they are playing. At one level a resource might be abundant, at another level it might be very rare. This particularly applies to key resources such as rifles, pistols, axes etc.
  15. I am not sure where you mean when you say, "around the creek". In the airport region the moose I came across was in a very obvious place, impossible to miss. At the moment I am just about to return to the TFTFT area. I am in Broken Railroad trying to kill the moose to make a backpack, but not having much luck. I am better equipped and armed, but there is almost nothing that can protect me from that fog and -38° except good luck.
  16. I see that in my Journal, Momentos I have one key and four notes. I presume that means I did not notice and pick up the key with three of those. It's my fault. I have deliberatey avoided reading anything about the game that would act as a spoiler, as a result I missed to important information. Thanks for your help.
  17. Further to my earlier posting about losing my key. I have not lost it. I had not noticed the "Momentos" group in the Journal, Collections. I have not worked out how to use it. Is each key specific to a particular locked box, i.e. does each locked box need its own key? I have found a few loocked boxes but have not been able to open any.
  18. I started a straight Voyager game in Broken Railroad then went to the new regions as soon as possible. I found a revolver, rifle and bow surprisingly soon. I can't remember exactly how soon or where but it was probably the quickest that I have ever found them. I had problem with ammo and arrows. I had some but with low levels of skill much was wasted.
  19. That has had me puzzled. I have been unable to find a way to the top of that ropeless rope climb. I was also puzzled and disappointed with the area around Justy's Hovel. I felt that that plateau should lead somewhere, but whatever direction on which I set out I ended up returning to the same part of the main area.
  20. I didn't even realise that there was this western bear. But the other bear! I walked past it when it was sleeping without my realising. As I was walking out of its cave it. I thought a rock had a strange shape. I stood next to it to look closely and realised that it was sleeping bear exactly the same colour as the rock. I wanted to shoot it in the head at point blank range, but my rifle skill level was two and I only had two rounds of ammo, so I made a hasty retreat. The bear woke as I was escaping but I managed to escape. Very soon after that there was the moose. With low skill levels all round and very little ammo and few arrows there was little I could do. As I thought about it he came after me and stomped on me. Although I was playing a straight Voyager game, which I normally find easy, this was not easy. Worst of all was the fog. Not having read any of the blurb I know nothing about this Glimmer Fog, and still don't.
  21. Thanks for trying to be helpful with the map, but I try to avoid spoilers. I approached Mindful Cabin from the left, West?, I found the rope climb, without a rope, but didn't need it. I vaguely remember seeing the rock for a rope descent somewhere else, but didn't need it and forgot to map it. On my last trip around the airfield region I was down to 4 rounds of revolver ammo. and my last bow down to 16% so I couldn't hang around and map the region as well as I wanted. Now that I have a decent bow and plenty ammo I might have another trip out there.
  22. That is interesting. I have not had shortage of ropes. Perhaps it's that I took a different route that didn't need a rope. The name Sudden Ravine doesn't ring a bell. It doesn't appear on my map. It could be that it is a location I haven't found, it might be that I just don't remember the name. I can't remember a bear on the west, i.e. left side, of the map. I thought that I had found and mapped everything on the airport map, perhaps I haven't. I hate the left side of the map, every time I have been in that area, in a straight Voyager game, I have had very cold thick fog and had a hard time.
  23. I had no problem mapping Mindful Cabin. I found two big cabins and a small hovel,. How many caves are there? It is easier to miss a cave. I found 8 that show the usual cave symbol.
  24. I found the memento key. Then I lost it it. I guess that as I was dropping unwanted gear I acidentally dumped the key too. Is there a second key to be found?
  25. In a straight Voyager game I found very few wolves in the airfield region.
