  1. So I got to eleven days in my trusty shelter with a pile of Rabbit carcass nearby. It's getting very tedious so I'll put it to rest and maybe come back. I have 8 matches left + I spended 1 flare. My axe found on day 1 is kinda broken. 5 cattails. I think snowshelter placement could be optimized because it's to cold some mornings.
  2. I will try - it sounds fun!๐Ÿ˜„ Day 1 straight to ravine Sacked my bedroll and made a snowshelter. Found a hoodie, the rope and one cloth in the train cars. Burned 1 match to make water and birch tea. Forgot to make a torch (doh!) Made to little amount of water. Could be a problem. Placed the rope. Going to the other side of the ravine to day.
  3. Interesting! The original challenge I mean๐Ÿ™‚. What seems to be limiting factor. Cold, food? I mean with the starvation trick and a snowshelter one should last at least 20 days? (provided one can go to the bottom of the ravine). The add on to the challenge makes it less interesting IMO since no real comparison, tips and tricks between runs can be made.
  4. awww ... what a troll...๐Ÿ˜ Use a custom game with no wolves or reduced wolf attack damage. Simple, easy, quick. Or practice ๐Ÿ˜Š
  5. While I understand the point one has to remember the game is so more thrilling when death lurks. If not to common it's ok they force combat. Any normal loper player will see no combat at all when established with gear so to add danger could prove a way to keep tension in midgame. Maybe a toggle for timberwolves should be added to custom.
  6. Normal wolves pretty much will not attack you unless you get near them, so anything away from that is an improvement. What I will hope is a change so that lighting a fire will no longer scare normal wolves until its fully lit. The running away from a man with a match trying to light some small sticks - but not from a man with a fully lit flare is a little weird.
  7. Sounds like a promising update with great variety of challenges, gameplay and new challenges. Thumbs up! Looking forward to getting kicked in the new official deadman challenge. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜‚
  8. Use my abilities to make plastic bottles vanish for the good of mankind ๐Ÿ˜„ Cool topic
  9. Guaranteed spawns isn't about longevity its about getting water and teas in the early days. Because of the healing it's not a huge deal in interloper, but actually in my deadman runs I think I find ML starts the most challenging for that reason.
  10. TWM summit and cave, CH lookout as far as I remember
  11. A very nice change. Thank you! It will change interloper gameplay and force you to take a real risk.
  12. Of course it's a clear exploit. No predator in real life will ignore you standing like 10 m from a rabbit carcass. They will be on guard probably attack you or wait for you to leave. From a game perspective it's terrible. The safe headshot which works like 90-100 pct. is not what its meant to be and made the wolves totally without danger when you are armed. You will get used to it ๐Ÿ˜
  13. Too heavy use of the food exploit ๐Ÿ˜„
  14. What settings is this? I guess 20-30 days should be possible under normal circumstances. Are the cave to marsh ridge allowed?
  15. Rationally there's no reason to go to HRV. It has practically nothing that the other regions don't have better. I would wish that it was a transition region to another urban zone or that the region had some kind of unique ressource. Otherwise it seems kind of stupid to go there. The most unique ressources in Loper play are ...well... wetstones (๐Ÿ˜„) and not much chance to find that. Of course it could be argued that sapplings should be harvested but in late game it's just pushing the inevitable survival without the bow a little and not worth the hassle. It was one of the things asked for by the community but to me it lacks real in-game purpose.
  16. What I miss most is ... not knowing the maps. Struggling as a real landed stranger in a wilderness landscape. With death around every corner. Listening for sounds. Not knowing the wolf patrol zones or the exploits to just whiff them away. To run to safety in fear. To take you from loot and to feel every day as an achievement. Those were the days.
  17. Exactly. Which can be said with most issues ppl complain about๐Ÿ˜
  18. Actually flare is the worst wolf repellant ever. Such a trick to pull off with many wolves ๐Ÿ˜›Just pull out one mighty match and make a fire with 2 sticks. All wolves will wait politely for you to resolve or run in terror from the firebuilding madness (which goes to say about Wills or Wilmas style).๐Ÿ˜‚
  19. Sorry to say but to me this is very much a longdark-theory problem. If you are at 5 pct or even 10 pct. you should be able to feed yourself at least for a good nights sleep. After that on all modes but deadman-mode the 5 pct. loss doesn't matter at all since you have healed extraordinary amounts. If you are reduced to 5 pct. and don't have anything to eat, no stim, no bark, no way to find a cat tail, and empty stomach - well - you deserve to fade into the long dark. Hit spacebar and go again.
  20. Good thing they only stalk you one at a time. Very polite wolves with a wait-your-turn-mentality๐Ÿ˜‚ You can just slowly walk away - light a fire and carry on. Or light a fire and watch wolf chaos ensue.
  21. Have to agree with Ralph here. It's a funny quirk but doesn't matter in gameplay. So not worth the effort in any way. Meat inability to freeze however does. It gives you full availability of stored or dropped meats at all times and creates some gamicky situations. F.i. rabbits freeze but rabbit meat carved out placed beside the rabbit won't But not in a big way.
