  1. The Water Purification Tablets for myself are rarely used. A WPT requires non-potable water. The water needs to melt over a fire. I find it easier to just find a couple of sticks to increase the duration of the fire that is melting the snow to then boil the water. The usefulness of these tablets would increase if we could gather snow that could melt (only interior locations) over eight hours. Wake up and shake up the morning drink of water. The volume of snow needs to be greater than the water created. Metal pails already exist in game and can be broken down. A pail can create one litre. Also the metal pot can be used and melts down to half litre. The cans also used to create one quarter litre.
  2. That is a ravaged carcass and for reason unknown it takes longer than a fresh kill carcass. Is this a bug? Great work so far. Look into the times butchering a rabbit carcass compared to quartering a deer. It takes seventy minutes to remove hide and gut from a rabbit compared to sixty minutes for the deer. There are problems even when using a knife compared to using hands. In my opinion harvesting rabbit needs to be reworked. Also I commented before that hacksaw did not work for quartering. Have you tested this in the new update?
  3. Here is the prequel to the first video. After baiting the wolf and seeing this happy trotting behaviour after the bait was taken was puzzling to me. The arrow was purposely aimed a little off. After walking with the wolf I was thinking to start recording.
  4. Drawing a bow and arrow on them (aiming any weapon) always used to turn a wolf aggressive. This was previous wolf behaviour. Now as long as the wolf is kept in range it will just prance along oblivious to all. Did further testing by walking along side the wolf and after short time it goes into a full sprint. Not to chase anything it is just to get out of range or 'off leash'. Carrying several morsels in my backpack another wolf came by for a treat. Almost had a pair of them walking with me but they went in opposite directions. Now the challenge is to acquire a wolf pack. Who wants to go for walkies?
  5. Fluffy looks so happy prancing around. Notched an arrow pulled the gut taught on the bow and I just could not take the shot. Hinterland studios have you just released another chink of the road map. 'Wellbeing system (i.e. mental/emotional cost of survival; “willpower locket” fits in here)' Was the emotional cost of survival to only apply to the survivor? If the medium is the message, than, the content is the user. Marshall would be proud.
  6. Wolves behaviour since the update seem some how different. Or is Fluffy broken?
  7. The revolver does not spawn on interloper but the flare guns does. A revolver spawn instead of a flare gun, would that be a more or less difficult interloper game? The revolver does offer some scare factor but not the same intensity as the flare pistol possesses. The revolver can be used as a blunt force weapon during a struggle and a flare pistol made from plastic cannot do much harm. The flare pistol is lighter than the revolver so carrying it around is not much issue. There would be more ammunition locations for the revolver and giving a slight increase to revolver rounds count compared to the flares. The flare pistol or revolver has a random chance to appear. One gun but not both is available to interlopers. What are your thoughts?
  8. Check out this video. It shows how to access the area. The MT objective is under quarantine. After the REDUX update there were numerous areas that had invisible walls installed. Goating in that area was difficult and might not be possible any more.
  9. Does anybody know if the clothing worn (such as footwear) impact the chance of sprain. It was discussed before the update and no solid conclusion was reached.
  10. Back from the summit and looking through a window 'pain'.
  11. Did an electrical discharge ignite this tree? Burnt Out Tree Now with 100% more wood charring. There is a larger diameter burnt out tree in Forlorn and I wonder if that too is updated. The other detail is while goating 🐐slipping down slope happens more frequently. Chance of slip can be defined as dropping vertically while skirting the slope face. There is a sound effect that accompanies the event. Sound is similar to soles of shoes scraping against a boulder.
  12. That seems odd. @hozz1235 Could you interact with it? Move it?
  13. Happened to be on the mountain so I went to those areas that are dark on your map. The first is easy enough. The other area is around the left side of the rope climb that leads up to Secluded Shelf. This is the top of the Three Way Cave. Cross over and this fallen tree is the area. Never been in this area before. Had a goat 🐐 time!
  14. Usually I play interloper and never see any firearms (FP is not a firearm it is safety related equipment). Why keep it secret? Let the kiddos have their pew pew 🔫shooters and enjoy The Long Dark. Firing rounds at different objects gives some reflection of reality. The snow responds with a white puff; tree gives splinters; metal container sends sparks. The funniest for me using the pistol is going to search or gather something from the ground and accidentally discharge.
  15. Phase-Functioned Neural Networks for Character Control Some development into path finding that I find fascinating. Soon critters will path find much better.
  16. TWM summit cave. By the way the new cargo container has much more detail than before.
  17. The reality was that I was intentionally trying to get a sprain. For scientific experimentation of course. In fact it took two attempts Goated up this rock and jumped. The first attempt failed to sprain. Goating higher. Success! A wrist sprain. Now I can test out a bug about not being able to sprint with only a wrist sprain.
  18. Steadfast Ranger update brought an overhaul to the sprain system. The original question might have a different response now. Does the clothing item being worn by the character affect the probability of sprain?
  19. An idea came to me while observing this picture. On stalker and interloper levels make birch bark available only in the areas that a moose has scraped it from the tree. This increases the danger level for such a prize.
  20. Did you have a scent bar? When the scent mechanic came available the bears and wolves will now make a direct line towards the yummy odour. Unless there is a door on the fishing hut I catch a fish drop a fish to play the fishing game. Fallen trees are another supposed safe zone. Generally the wildlife will ignore or flee when sitting atop a fallen tree. Path finding issues is how the problem was described. Climbed this fallen tree in TWM to do some animal behaviour observations. Had the trifecta; wolf, bear, moose. The bear walked over to the moose. Heard something from the bear 'A very Good Morning to you Bullwinkle" and a reply from the moose 'Good Morning Yogi'. When Mr. Moose noticed me he charged then circled beneath me. Is this an exploit that could lead to an easy kill.
  21. When on porches of house such as Old Mothers house in Milton the wolves could not path find and would run away whining. The porch at the farmstead in Pleasant Valley I thought was one of theses porch safe zones. Tested the porch at OMH in Milton and it still scares the wolves off. Has anyone else have experience with porches as safe zones.
  22. You are right. I just found out it takes two sprains to make the revolver unusable.
  23. Sprains. It such the topic. This might be a bug but I am not sure. With a wrist sprain is the revolver a weapon to hold?
