A Lamp
Honestly it would be nice if there could be any recipes that aren't made with any cooking supplies (cooking oil, flour,...) Like a salad made from roasted mushrooms, rose hips, cattails and burdock.

With flour now in the game, I was thinking you could take sardines and a can of tomato soup (probably need more flour to thicken it) to make a rudimentary flatbread with sardines.
conanjaguar
Molly’s Cure-all Soup “Light, vibrant, and comforting, completely unlike the person it’s named for.” Cooked in a cooking pot with 2x prepared rose hips, 2x prepared Reishi mushrooms, 2x prepared birch bark, 4x carrots, 2x potatoes, 2 tsp. salt, and 1L water. + Gives benefits of Reishi, rose hip, and birch bark tea + Gives warming up - Headache
Stranzua
A default recipe that uses potatoes and carrots would be nice. Potatoes take 48 minutes to cook on interloper and they give you less than 300 calories. Edited June 26, 2023 by Stranzua
Acthalla
I tried to think of a few that used cans for cooking or that used ingredients that aren't currently used. Miner's Mug Cake "The miners came up with a way to make a birthday cake without an oven." Cooked in a recycled can from Water, Oil, Flour, and a Candy Bar. Reduces risk of Cabin Fever. Cat Tail Pickles "Not as good as what you'd find at a deli, but it's still a salty treat." Cooked in a recycled can from Water, Salt, and Cat Tail Stalks. Slightly increases the caloric value of the cat tail stalks. Steak Fries "Make you wish you had a porterhouse to go with them." Cooked in a skillet from Potatoes, Salt, and Oil. Increases caloric value of potatoes. Quick Gruel "It's not tasty, but it's something warm to eat, at least." Cooked in a recycled can from Water and Oats. Less filling than porridge, but cooks quicker, uses less oats, and doesn't require a pot.
Leeanda
Fish and chips would suit me.. if only there was vinegar😋 Chocolate flapjacks ... Oats, maple syrup, and broken up chocolate bars... Very short term stamina boost and rotten teeth in six to eight weeks😁 Drop scones....flour,water ,salt , low calories but better than nothing.. best for using up the leftovers...optional ,add potato or half an energy bar.
conanjaguar
Throwing this out there as a bit of a joke suggestion, not at all to be taken seriously… How about ice cream? One portion each of herb, maple syrup, salt, and snow 😋.

Stellarbone
The Three Meat Chili, Winters Night Soup, and the Miners Mug Cake all sound like they'd be fantastic additions. Potato Pancakes/Latkes Potato, Salt, flour. Requires a hunting knife but doesn't consume it. Ptarmigan and Mushroom Pie Ptarmigan meat, Reishi Mushroom, water, Flour, Salt, Cooking Oil. Probably an oversimplified list.
Stranzua
Another variation of the pancakes w/o syrup would be nice. I also believe that both Bannock recipes are too expensive. If I had the choice, I would save my flour and make pancakes every time. I would suggest raising the calories a little and dropping the amount of flour needed. Right now, pancakes use .10 of flour while Bannock uses .20, and Bannock takes twice as long to make while also giving you half the calories.

SlippedGear
A Dog's Breakfast or Doggone Chili Dog's Best Friend Dog Food Musical Fruit Pork and Beans Mom's Kitchen Tomato Soup - This only gives calories, but when combined in the recipe and cooked, it improves the condition of the final food item just like cooking meat. - Found in various places inside Misanthrope's Homestead. Dan_
PemmicanCalorie and protein dense delicacy and the weary traveler's most trusted fuel. A gift from the children of the prairies. Ingredients: 1kg Moose, 1kg Bear, 4 Rose Hips, 0.25l Water Cooking Level required: 5 Calories: 500 Yield: 4 pieces Prep + Cook time: 2h Weight: 0.1kg /piece Comment: With this recipe, you are getting almost no calories more than you put in and having a long prep time ( trying to emulate drying the meat and rendering the tallow from the bear with water ). The trade-off is that this is a super-low scent ( Jerky-like ) and low decay rate food that is very portable. Rose-hips could be optional, and of course there's not enough tallow percentage wise on a given bear or moose meat slab like the game gives us after harvesting to produce shelf stable pemmican, so you have to believe that the bear and moose meat here are particularly fat pieces. 😁 Having jerky and tallow as separate recipes would be better and make the pemmican make more sense, but I'm trying to make Pemmican work as a standalone recipe. 2

I'm honestly surprised that pemmican and rubaboo haven't been considered by the devs (maybe they have, idk). They'd be perfect for Frontier Comforts.
Smellyfries
"Fried Catfish" An entire Smallmouth Bass stuffed with cattail stalks and cooked in a skillet. It's a wonder how the idea of stuffing a fish with cattails came to fruition, perhaps whoever wrote the recipe really liked cattails, or had a lot on hand. Perhaps it's better to just cook the Bass on its own. Ingredients: 3kg of Smallmouth Bass, 6 cattail stalks, 0.01kg of salt. Cooking skill requirements: Level 2 Calories: 2000 Thirst decrease: Roughly 1/4 of the meter Yield: 1 Prep time: 15 minutes Cook time: 45 minutes Weight: 3.3 kg - Positive Effects: +Max Stamina +Carrying capacity - Negative effects: Increases rate of Cabin Fever (8 hours, if enabled) Headache (1 hour) - Recipe location: Ice fishing hut beneath the bridge in Keeper's Path South (Hopefully there isn't already a recipe there) Wanted to create an absurd recipe that I would honestly expect a survivor would quickly pass up for something better. I know the negatives are a bit much, but I picture this as a meal for those who are about to leave to cure cabin fever and want a hearty meal before leaving base, or for those who are outside already, and don't plan on going inside for a long while, hence the energy and inventory boosts. Why the headache then? Well, I'd probably get a headache from reading the name of the dish, and having to make such an absurd dish when you could probably just cook the bass and be fine. I could see your character loosing sanity cooking such an absurd dish instead of spending their time elsewhere, hence the cabin fever risk. Credits to Dan_ for the layout of the recipe.
