  1. I don't know, but aurora animals seem pretty unaffected by every other means of scaring them. I think the best policy for transponder caches is to kill all the local wildlife before the aurora hits. Even then, there will still be a few special aurora wolves to contend with. Best avoided completely, because they're very dangerous.
  2. To me that place is cursed. I nearly freeze to death every time I'm there. I make some teas, gather some torches, and keep moving.
  3. And there's always some accelerant in a crate near the forge at the Spence homestead.
  4. The coal at the entrance of the transition cave from FM to BI is gettable - at least two pieces of it are. Back up into the cave entrance until you can look sideways at the coal, and you may be able to get a piece or two. It's worth it, actually, as the forge is right there.
  5. How you fall through the ice in a place where it drops to -40C every single night for months.
  6. Screwing up and sleeping someplace unsafe is my usual cause of interloper death. Sure, the timber wolves get me sometimes, but they can't beat how easy it is to just start clicking and fall asleep for too long someplace like the mountaineers hut, or the little "annex" next to the BR maintenance shed. These places are a little tricky, because if you have good clothes (like 25C and above), you get used to sleeping there with impunity. Then the next run where you have sneakers, jeans, a sweater, and a parka, you just click-click-click and BOOM dead.
  7. I'm assuming it was yellow (the mode to find hidden caches). You need to look carefully at the ground, and there's a tiny patch of ground that will say "uncover cache" when you mouse over it.
  8. I'll add my favorite interloper cheesy tactic. Bows wear out fairly quickly. It's wise to have a spare on hand when you're traveling, but who wants to carry the weight of a secondary bow? Also, you can't even wear out the first one and get rid of it because the radial menu seems to randomly pick one of the two bows you're carrying! The solution is to 90% complete a new bow, to the point where it requires no further raw materials. This unfinished bow weighs zero kg, and can be completed with an hour of work at any work bench. This idea works for other items as well, but the bow is where you really need it.
  9. Well, if you'd seen the place I was stuck, you'd probably have made an exception.😁
  10. The jump mod worked! Thank you. I ended up with hypothermia, but thankfully I had enough resources on hand to get through it with no permanent harm.
  11. I'm stuck in Blackrock between two trees and a rock. It looks like there's room to get through but it's quite impossible. I've tried spamming crouch and Zaknafein's fire spamming trick. Nothing seems to work. To make matters worse, I accidentally saved it when I tried the bedroll trick to get out. Is my 200+ day Astrid interloper going to fade into the long dark because of two spruce trees and an oddly shaped rock? She's had a hard life. Already she lost 100+ matches, many arrows, and two mag lenses to the latest patch container bug. Is there a mod for unsticking yourself? maybe?
  12. I have noticed the wolves seem to do more close range "dodging" lately. I used to almost never get in a wolf struggle. These days I seem to miss my last second headshot with the bow much more frequently.
  13. I haven't played stalker since the cooking update came out, but there must be more ingredients in that difficulty than there are in interloper. I've had more than my share of rose hip pies in interloper, but I just can't keep it up because of the lack of flour and cooking oil.
  14. Cinnamon is also partly responsible for the delicious flavor of Vietnamese pho soup. It's probably better left to cooks who really know what they're doing with spices.
  15. I'd be happy with just some advance knowledge of when the patch was coming so I could wait a few days to see what happens.
  16. Losing 120-ish matches, a stim, and two mag lenses isn't doing my interloper Astrid any favors.
  17. Haha. Just a sidebar here - I can tell you one neat thing about Project Zomboid is that you can outfit your base with a working washer and dryer. I think there's a mod that addresses "going to the powder room".
  18. I experienced this with lockers, green rectangular containers, and a workbench drawer.
  19. Might want to give yourself a bit of insurance with a backup. I wish I had.
  20. I'd say the answer to that one is a pretty clear "no". Hinterland should fix it or tell us we're lunatics fairly soon, and then you'll know.
  21. No lost and found for me either. Not anywhere inside the Quonset.
  22. Were you running any mods? I was running Candlelight and Ambient Lights. Now with Melon loader uninstalled, it seems like some of the lockers that were previously empty now have their contents back. There's at least one drawer that's still empty, though. I'm pretty confused.
  23. Thank you, guys. I seem to be experiencing a problem where every container in my Quonset hut base is now empty. I have the ambient light and candlelight mods running, so I will remove and try again
