If only there were outfits made out of…..backpacks…..

Never played the first and second. Found it on the third. My favorite is definitely new vegas. Its just got the best style and quirks, and the dlc is insanely good. I have probably played it 500 hours lol. 3 is really good too, and is my second favorite. 4 is ok, too much emphasis on settlements and not enough on other gameplay…. which was your fave?

God I love fallout. Only other games ive replayed for years….

When you kill a moose or bear, you can slaughter it and dump the meat, then spray paint a food symbol on the ground and it marks it on the map for later. That way you can make several trips easier if you dont want to cook there and get attacked by all the wolves ever.

The simple fact that the atmosphere is outstanding enough to keep someone like me, who has played hundreds of games over 40 or so years, coming back for 7 years.

Yeah they are. Sometimes they get close if the ground is off kilter and i get surprised, but as long as i have any projectile weapon they are, well, dogmeat…

That works, just looking for an excuse to do something new…ive got a revolver with like 30 rounds for the biggies.

Well I just realized i forgot my arrow stash in coastal highway, 2 maps back. Trying to decide if I want to deal with going and getting them. Jackrabbit island is not close. Or i can try the new arrows, cause i got the shafts, just no arrowheads. Only have 3 regular arrows on me

Now wolves are a different story. They are prey….

I know this is an old thread but I gotta add to it. Today I learned that beachcombing has advanced to worthwhile no matter what, when i found a total of 9 intact arrows and 6 broken ones on coastal highway over a span of 18 days. I also learned that you can craft fishing tackle in pitch black, and while fighting a wolf if you are using the revolver you get a quicktime option to shoot the wolf. Of course I chose that option.

Got another one, the fact that we essentially eat roadkill (ravaged deer) eagerly. Also, shooting bears with flares, then watching them run til they bleed/flare out…then eat them.

Yeah I always feel bad wringing their necks. I like to use arrows too. Havent gotten to use the fire hardened ones yet.

Going fishing and having all 4 of my lines break without catching a thing. That was yesterday. Another of my favorites is the freezing to death in a blizzard because you failed 6 times to start a fire. Bonus if you threw the controller and the batteries came out and rolled under the bed, not that that has ever happened….

Now i gotta go to FM and find that…..

God ive played probably 1000+ hours of this game. The game could be $100 and that would still be less than $0.10 per hour. Personally ive never gotten this much out of a game before. Maybe the newcomers need to be indoctrinated better….

I kinda like FM. I am weird like that, I like the odd maps like FM, BR, and desolation point. Probably cause I like outdoor bases. I am not a hardcore player, ive only played interloper once and i usually play custom games based off stalker with item decay turned down and parasites off (hate that mechanic, it is ridiculously medically inaccurate). To balance i turn blizzards up. I generally try to see how long I can survive at spence’s homestead or that tree in the overlook area. If I kill a bear I can make it 40 days. Staying warm is challenging there, i have never found the prepper’s stash base. I tend to do it mid to late game as there is much more fun to be had in early game elsewhere. I will sometimes do multiple stints there, with excursions to the lower part of mountain town where I love that half collapsed base to hunt moose, and broken railroad to also hunt moose. The theme of those excursions is outdoor bases lol.

Great minds think alike. When it comes to bears, I do not wake up and choose violence. I choose how much violence lol.
