  1. That would screw with a lot of people's heads. There'd be lots of posts on that one.

Jeebus...it will take you a month to eat all that.

    Wet Crampons

I was kinda hoping I wasn't the only one. Appreciate the feedback.
  4. Same for me at the start. I have to sprint to get the rabbit before it become undazed. Not a big fan of the neck-breaking sound and the chirp, myself.
  5. For me, it's the Rifle skill. I have everything up to 5 except Rifle. I have SOOOOO much food that I don't want to waste it by shooting another animal.
  6. That sounds weird. I was running around in a blizzard (I want the badge) and my crampons got 43% wet. They are at 96% health. Went inside and started a fire to dry everything out. All clothes dries in an hour or so except for the crampons. They went up to 46% wet. Literally put them under a stove and let it run for another 4 hours. Came back...46% wet. It's been 2 in-game days and they are still 46% wet. Bug?
  7. Gonna have to agree with ya on this one. Just spent 7 days in BI and cannot repair the crampons. Was really hoping I could. Wore them continuously for about 20 game days and they did degrade. Now I take them on and off depending on the situation. I did notice as well that on the inside slot, no steady footing bonus applied, only the outside slot.
  8. Evening all. Need some help with hacksaws. I was wandering around and using the hacksaw to grab some scrap metal. Saw was at 100%. Every time I used the saw, it dropped 5%. Got down to 10% and figured 1 more use and I'll stop so I can repair it at BI. It broke. Ruined. No worries, I thought, I'll repair it. Went back "home" and got the basic tools and scrap metal. Can't repair. Hmmmmm. Grabbed a quality tools...can't repair. Oh well, I'll fix it at BI. Off I go and trek on over to BI. Waited until night and, lucky me, first night I get an aurora. Go to repair the hacksaw and, guess what, no repair. Very confused. Was reading up and the Long Dark Wiki says "The machine works with the following items: Rifle, Revolver, Hacksaw, Hatchet, Knife, Improvised Hatchet and Improvised knife. Before Errant Pilgrim if a tool or weapon was destroyed it would not be able to be repaired at all, after Errant Pilgrim however all of the aforementioned tools can be repaired even after complete destruction. This includes both firearms." Anyone have any insight on this. Kinda want my hacksaw back. Many thanks!
  9. I plan on spending a fair amount of time in Ash Canyon so I will note the positions of the objects and submit the bug report. Thanks for the idea.
  10. Still have the floating objects in the air after the latest patch.
  11. Noticed that. No idea why but at least half of the matches I found were 2 feet in the air...just floating there.
  12. Got about 20 hours into Ash Canyon now. Pilgrim but still gotta be careful as I am 450 days in and want to get to 500. Found 1 rifle and 1 pistol there. Figured out 2 routes to the Mine. Killed 1 bear and 2 wolves. There are deer and bunnies as well. Found the 4 livable dwellings and all are pretty good. Crampons certainly aid in the climbing and steep terrain. New favourite gear. Took me a few to figure out how to used them. The swinging bridges are "fun". Definitely gotta concentrate on those. Found the polaroid but not the vista from the polaroid yet. Still more exploring to do. Big improvement on the shadows and shading. Very noticeable and welcomed. Few observations 1. Many of the matches near the footbridges are floating in the air. 2. I can't loot the dead body at the miners cabins. I can walk right through it. 3. A few places stopped me dead in my tracks and I had difficulty getting out of (top of the cliff overlooking the mine, inside the wooden structure). Had to crouch/stand etc to work my way out. Once I hit 500 days I think I will go try living there for a month or so. I believe it is certainly doable. Excellent update to the game. Many, many thanks, Hinterland!
  13. OK. Tried it. Built a fire and put on a Can of Pinnacle Peaches (at 4%). Let it go to "burn". Picked it up and the "words "inedible burnt >>>" flashed across the screen in red letters. No can in inventory. Guess you can't do that.
  14. Yep....still like the idea of this. They are a pain in the rear and very exhausting, but they do work.

    Sled

I love this idea. This game is a survival experience. I would make a sled in real life if I had the resources. It would certainly be beneficial when dragging lotsa stuff long distances instead of me having to make 3 trips (the game quickly becomes a walking sim). I have read through a fair amount of the posts and most people believe, regardless if the are Pro or Con, that this won't happen, though.
  16. Interesting UTC-10...hadn't thought of that. Gonna try it.
  17. Very much like the idea of this. Different colour touques, miniature hockey sticks etc (doesn't have to be something uniquely Canadian). I like to organize my "bases" as well and find this idea most interesting. I would also be very much in support (without the use of mods) to be able to clean up the clutter. Can't really place things on the shelves with the bowls and clutter. Would LOVE to be able to remove it.
  18. I sneezed while crossing the trestle bridge...at the critical part. Died of gravity sickness.
  19. Did the clothes mending forget routine yesterday. Couldn't figure out why I was so cold. D'oh! I always seem to forget to light my fires with the Mag glass in clear skies and remember about 0.00001 seconds after I use a match.
