  1. 100% same. I know aesthetics are like... 0% of the actual importance of gameplay, but dangit LOL It matters to some of us! Please bring this feature back ;-;
  2. This old complaint again? Do people really not comprehend that Hinterland is a SMALL company, doing everything themselves? Three years is a decent amount of time for the amount of work they put into the story pieces - not to mention this is probably going to be a longer, more involved section, considering all they have to wrap up.
  3. But WHY with the deceptive title!? Now I can't tell if it's gonna be a happy ending or a depressing sad one LOL The "light at the end" has so many meanings! Why must you torture me LOL
  4. "Unannounced delays" Pretty sure it's been announced. In this thread.

    Why.

LOL I said the same thing. Like... Son? You got a whole rifle on you. Shoot Vachon, then when his buddy comes out, you take HIM out, then you go inside, find Matthis and take him down. But I think the honest answer why you DON'T do this is A.) There are a lot more convicts than the game shows and B.) Mack is the boy scout. He probably won't just shoot an unarmed dude, let alone three.
  6. Lol I did not. I don't think I even knew deer made noise. But I also play with the volume kinda low cause I get freaked out haha
  7. Am I the only one who didn't notice the sound change? Lol
  8. Pretty sure the issue is too MUCH self worth. Which really is super sad. Imagine thinking you're better than someone because of how you play a video game lol.
  9. I feel like it's okay to disagree with people without name calling... This episode WAS inundated with wolves... But the context seemed relevant enough. Several times in cut scenes it's mentioned that surviving the landscape outside the prison was nearly impossible, because of the wolves. I think it's less about whether or not you're adept at handling the wolves and more about how you're handling the landscape. I ran into four packs during the entire episode. Once when I was getting the medicine (this was a black wolf, who I accidentally shot in the face cause he scared me lol), a second time during my idiotic return from the dam (not realizing I could just use the door in the steam tunnels to get back to BRP), a third time near the southern farm ruins (this was the only instance where I had to spend time fighting them with flares/guns, instead of just scaring them off with my rifle) and the last, near BRP during the aurora (another black wolf). I found the wolf encounters in episode 3 to be considerably worse, especially during the survivor rescue quest and I found the bear in chapter 2 to be the most inane complication in the game. Ultimately the wolves are frustrating, but I found using alternative routes near the water or the ravine and staying off the path to be the least complicated... Particularly during the aurora.
  10. Unless you're like me and are a complete idiot and hiked your way back on foot from the dam because you didn't realize that door was an exit LOL
  11. As a writer, I can say I actually appreciate that the devs did NOT go that route. It is so imperative to a narrative that you maintain consistency and continuity with characters. Growth is fine. Flaws are also fine. Failures are fine. But ultimately altering a character's nature to the point you're suggesting would be so diametrically opposed to the narrative, it would absolutely have ruined the story for me. Mack is the good guy - the boy scout, as Matthis points out. Even at the end, he chooses flight, over fight, and this is very much a character based choice. He would rather protect Jace than take out a potential threat. It's also the reason he didn't just bounce as soon as Matthis's goonsquad let him out of his cell. He could've just wandered off, left everything behind and been safe. But he didn't, because he knew the importance of the case to Astrid and he's determined to see it through. Him teaming up with a bunch of sadistic murders and probably worse would not have made any sense narratively - even factoring in the psychological drag of all he's been through.
  12. Lol. I feel like this game has traumatized us a little...
  13. THIS. 100% This. Of course considering I filled her fridge with dog food, expired goods and about 60lbs of water, I'm kinda concerned what that soup had in it LOL
  14. Actually, thinking along the lines of the OP... I wonder if you could have something like pepper spray or mace -- rare, obviously, but it would be interesting. Something used specifically in those moments when you're -being- mauled. A pepper-spray to the face for the wolf and he's not gonna worry too much about biting YOUR face anymore. Might also work on a bear if it's specifically a 'bear deterrent' variant.
  15. Feels like feeding the troll at this point. Probably best we just abandon the thread and let it get buried, instead of continuing to try and reason with the unreasonable.
  16. That's tragic, and I am so sorry. If it makes you feel ANY better at all, the first time I played Story mode, I got up to the top of the plane crash area and walked into my own campfire. So at least you didn't die in a really really stupid way!
  17. Well, if you read through the replies, you would see I made a few contributions, including one that would render the OPs suggestion useful. If you really think that Potato spuds and marshmallow guns are a valuable suggestion, you should make them in a new thread. Otherwise, that's just trolling. But I'm not an admin. Do what you want. I wish I understood why folks like you would rather be seen as aggressive and disrespectful than someone other people could glean knowledge from, but there's no sense sneaking through a rusty gate. Have a good afternoon.
  18. So you are trolling on purpose? Okay. That's all I needed to know. I just wasn't sure if you were doing it intentionally or it just came across that way.
  19. Yeah. Haha. The mom in me tries to appeal to people's decency, but I'm starting to realize you gotta have some, for that to work. Clearly Lord won't be satisfied until he's been ignored by everyone on these forums, and it's a shame, because he probably has some credible ideas, but no one will be able to read them.
  20. I mean... you're clearly just being passive aggressive and disrespectful about it, so... I don't see much of a point. Seems to me, and maybe I'm wrong, who knows... but it seems to me like you're trying to bully or shame the OP into thinking the way you do, and honestly? That's probably the silliest thing I've ever seen anyone on these forums do. Shame that you'd rather waste your time doing the unconstructive thing like trolling other people's threads, than actually trying to put out good ideas.
  21. Seems pretty without reason to respond to this thread at all. Just saying. You made it abundantly clear you don't like these types of threads/ideas, so why contribute to the conversation? Why not just move on and enjoy what it is you -do- like? Kinda rude for you to continue to poke fun at and disrespect other people's concepts by calling them "silly" or suggesting they're at all less legitimate than your own.
  22. Why not make your own wish list post?
  23. That's actually really refreshing to hear! I've encountered a few Interlopers whose attitudes tend to be ride or die, no camping, etc. It's really nice to find an interloper player who appreciates the beauty of the game! Like the previous poster (I can't figure out how to tag that tricky name haha)I'm more a fan of the camp cabin at ML. Trappers is wonderful but I think playing story mode made me salty towards it, after getting locked out haha.
  24. So, to start, I'm a scrub and almost never play on anything but green mode, so this is definitely not going to be a hardcore survivalist conversation LOL. One of things I enjoy the most about the game is the different modes for different play styles, and one of the things I enjoy the most about green mode is the ability to really delve into 'camper' mode. I have spent days in one single location, scouting, mapping, hunting and gathering, then bundling everyone up and heading off to the next section of the map. My goal, eventually, is to start in HRV and make my way through each area, ending at Ash canyon. But I'm curious where folks favorite places are to make camp or drop supplies for a bit. I'd have to say my all time favorite location aesthetically is the lighthouse on Desolation Point - there's something about it that just feels different than all the other potentially places to stay, and I absolutely love how the storage is set up. Biggest issue is there isn't a lot of supply/hunting opportunity on DP, so I usually only head there after a few days of meandering along Coastal Highway.
  25. Haha welcome to Hollywood. It makes literally no sense.
