  1. Finally got lvl 5 mending on my day 232 stalker run! It's my longest yet! Look how crazy this is!
  2. I really hope it doesn't end like Stranded Deep where it's basically you just starting over with no further information as to what happened to you, or why, leading to an endless cycle of survival and struggle. Given, The Long Dark story mode does have a lot more going for it narrative-ly speaking and Stranded Deep isn't a story-driven game. I just ask that the same lazy cop-out doesn't happen here, which I'm sure it won't. I care about this game too much to be happy with something like "You wake up in a burning wreckage again" simply because they get to re-use the same opening scene to save time and money...
  3. One of my survivors is currently living in the worker kitchen area that you have to open to double doors to get to. Things cure in there and it's not too cold. You also have a stove and a bed. Tons of space. Thing is, I've been spooked often by a timberwolf stalking around the corner.
  4. Deleted my original post because I couldn't find an edit button. Anyways, I got more information as last night I was exhausted. Rusty has lived for 90 days so far on a Stalker run in Broken Railroad. I also have an Astrid that kind of glitched out when Ash Canyon came out, so now she acts like she has a sprained ankle when she really doesn't. I'm just playing it off as some of illness she has to battle along with everything else. It does make some interesting playthroughs. She's lived 83 days on Voyageur.
  5. Yes, of course I will! I will then watch other people play through it, too!
  6. I think it should be done for billionaires too, as they should be fixing the planet they're destroying instead of using phallic ships to escape it altogether! No more rockets until you fix micro usb's being packaged in 10 pieces of plastic bags, Jeff!
  7. I've noticed that the spawn near the lake cabins and fishing huts is somewhat uncommon as I haven't had it happen in a long time.
  8. Shortly after my 200th day, I got this badge: My minefield as I'm calling it certainly helped a lot! Make use of those endless cured guts and recyclable reclaimed wood!
  9. This happened to me today. Came back to the farmstead in Forlorn Muskeg to find my bearskin bedroll completely destroyed. I'd only made it a couple days ago. I guess someone else had gotten to it while I was gone.
  10. It's unnecessary sugar to damage your teeth and has useless calories with no nutrients. It would be nice to take that syrupy stuff from the top and make our own snow cones, though!
  11. If you quarter an animal and leave the bags around, they'll still tick down in quality and instead of staying viable for harvest at 0%, they will vanish. I doubt this is what happened though because it just seems to be too early for it to come near to 0%.
  12. While having graphical issues when I put my new ssd in, which lead to the game crashing, whichever save I was playing on at the current moment was gone forever. I don't think any were too memorable, though. Maybe around 60 days or so.
  13. I want to do my apartment too, it'll probably take MUCH less time than this, though!
  14. So I had this crazy idea to make the big farmhouse from this game in the Sims 4. I'm thinking that while it's still abandoned, it was before the winter set in. First floor: Second floor: Basement: Again, sorry if I got a few details wrong and I know I'm not the first to do this, but I just wanted to show my appreciation for the game. If you have The Sims 4, you can look up pleasant valley house and find mine and the others who've made builds like this.
  15. Arg, why did you make it so that my "warming up" drinks now burn to a crisp when heating nearby a fire???
  16. Proud Canadian here! I see scenery like that in The Long Dark all the time. I wish I could see the auroras here, though.
  17. "SoMeThinG's sAppiNG mY eNergY!" He says after carrying dozens of pounds of meat and fish through Pleasant Valley. Through a blizzard.
  18. The Long Dark but as a rogue-like/lite? I already love the idea.
  19. Hello, I'd like to think that I'm a pretty good shot with the bow and not the rife and wondered the same of this community. I was curious about how many shots I'd landed and came across this screen: https://gyazo.com/1ef15e0428bbe37bfcd29049cf227947 That puts me at a 69% accuracy rating in my current game. I'm curious about the rest of you? Do you have a better skill with the rifle, bow or either of the pistols? Please show me as I'm very curious. Yes, I may have added some arrows in, but I have to train my skills up somehow as my disability doesn't allow me to learn things easily. I just got competent with the bow now after owning this game for several years now.
  20. I kite them close with the bow and try to get a headshot in. They will charge after you click to aim a shot, the trick is to get them in the head just BEFORE the struggle happens. Most of the time, I'll get a shot in and if it doesn't kill, the wolf dies during the struggle. It succeeds most of the time and I find it's more efficient than the gun. Enjoy your mountains of wolf pelts!
