  1. This is from the TC page: "We have taken steps to protect your Current Version Save Files but please ensure you follow the TIME CAPSULE instructions carefully. Current update saves will not work earlier (Unsupported) updates." Indicates that Current Version Save Files are protected. Seems it should be using the steam cloud to retain our save files. If this setting is turned off then I would copy the hinterland save folder that is located in a user hidden directory. I am almost done touring Mystery Lake and will be updating to the next build. Plan on making a save file in the build and then revert back to the first and see if the old save is returned.
  2. This image was released and announced episode three. https://www.thelongdark.com/news/dev-diary-august-2018/ This could be an excellent way to introduce this beasty to The Long Dark. Wonder how the intelligence will be showcased? At 4:18 the video shows a group of orca using a water wave to knock prey off of ice. One more thing to bring up is ... Aurora Orca
  3. The religious figure could indicate a new morale system or mental well being.
  4. This next try I am brought in near the camp office. This place is empty. Climbed up and took an overlook picture of the lake, Visited the cabins on the other side of the lake and in the morning took another picture after some goating. Made the hike over to Trapper's homestead. While resting I contemplate my very existence.
  5. The logging camp was in sight but also two wolves. Wolves chased a deer and I went for a look. Inside the trailers I found a bug. Stepped outside at night to see the stars and was attacked immediately at the door. Managed to figure that clicking is just not the only action available. Made me bleed my own blood. Rested and woke dehydrated. Went outside and made a fire. The wolf carcass from last night was there too. Melt some snow and on to boiling. Wolf attack and then I slipped into The Long Dark.
  6. That was Faithful Cartographer. Carter Hydro Dam was reworked and extra interior props were added. https://www.thelongdark.com/time-capsule/faithful-cartographer/
  7. The timber wolf would be my guess. You might be correct, it does look small from this angle.
  8. This is so amazing that a simple request has come true. I missed out on some of the early days so thanks Hinterland for allowing us to catch up. Here I come v.119 Released: 22.09.2014
  9. Only about Battery. Battery all the way down. After returning I noticed Battery fall. Also the rifle is misplaced.
  10. Make Battery Great Again
  11. There are some different antennae on top of the lookout at Mystery Lake. There are definitely on a different spectrum. The antenna segments represent quarter wavelength of the broadcast wavelength. Guestimate at 100 khz for left side antenna and 100 Mhz for the right side antenna. There does not seem to be any leads for the higher frequency antenna going into the tower cabin. The radio also seems to be the destination for the other antenna. The stove has two burner slots and you know what that means.
  12. Everyone here on the forum loves to hunt. @MarrowStone There are "footprints" that lead to the answer to your question.
  13. Did you turn back or press on and go for the "Leap Of Faith"?
  14. When your assailant lunges at you wielding a pointed stick. You should eat more fresh fruit!
  15. That wolf depicted is grey and not black like the others we have met. The timberwolf shown in the chapter three released screenshot is grey. The new timberwolf might be following us around trying to get close using stealth. My behaviour in the early days of playing TLD of looking back over my shoulder to see if I was being followed might be a habit to return. The prototype footage mentions other survivours. The statement at 3:43 "avoid hostile survivors while travelling", makes me wonder. When was this feature removed from the roadmap? Currently we have "survivors' within the story mode, but, they all seem to be scripted events having a certain area to meet them and not just out in the wilds. Would be interesting to have random encounters within survival. Maybe after a set amount of days we start to see footprints and campfires from the these other survivours. The return to the old game states would make an interesting DLC. Maybe I am wrong but would it be exclusive to PC because the console port was not part of the code. On a similar note maybe we can ask Hinterland to stream live gameplay from these early game states.
  16. Well we have the .38 and the upcoming timberwolf might just be that sneaky bastard.
  17. The hardest settings offers the utmost worst this game can throw. While it is true that deadman can survive. The Birch Druid has an ace up their sleeve. A potion of health to stave of death. Birch Bark Tea is the only renewable resource that can replenish health. The first try was decent as my Birch Druid went to the Ravine for health and the Flare Pistol. Made it to DP with tools and crafted knife and arrow heads. Lasted eight days, the saplings and guts still needed a few days to cure and starving so decided to restart. After five BD deaths I now got a lucky pull. Started in the skeg and close to the farm. Matches are found and the fire was lit with a single match. The weather turned foggy but was near freezing. The reishi tea kept me warm hiking over to the poachers camp. The torch chain made the entire trip but this barrel fire was stubborn and took eight tries. The cattails collected were a great snack but also supplied all that tinder. Warmed by the fire I scouted for the bear. Saw bear leaving into the skeg which left a clear route to Mystery Lake. Into ML where glorious birch bark is found on the way to the homestead. The fire is kept alive into the cave to Milton where I warmed up. Then over to the homestead where a hacksaw is found. Now with fire and a full belly of cattails, exhausted I rest for an hour and boil some water. That Birch Bark Tea is going to taste amazing. Birch Druid 8sHM-/z8P-Dyuz-QZum-+AAA Random Map No Feats Learn to worship the Birch trees. Knowledge of Birch tree groves is vital. Find respite in Raven Falls Ravine.
  18. The experiment is complete. The one point twenty one gigawatts needed has sent me back in time, by my rough estimates, two minutes. That's me in the corner.
  19. Think you are right and seems to be a ghost. Forgot about Scruffy in the cave in Desolation Point. The pack seems to be bringing in deer fro him, so when I am on Pilgrim I bring him some rabbit or fish. I am still hopeful that Fluffy will be back, the other wolf in the ice cave should have its own name. edit: Frosty is what just came to my mind.
  20. There's a place for everything. Now get this ^^ over to Battery's thread. Found a ballista bolt mechanism with +10 fire damage. Lightbringer Ballista
  21. Appreciate the replies. Even though it seems apparel has no effect on sprain chance I still like to think it does.
