  1. Lashing out the action Returning a reaction Weak are ripped and torn away Hypnotizing power Crushing all that cower Battery Is Here To Stay!
  2. Skeeter House Climb The path is straight forward but there is a trick. This vantage is great for spotting dangers unless it is foggy.
  3. Raven Rock has always been there but had never noticed. During the day and night Raven Rock is peering down, with stern sapience, deciding the worthiness of the traveler. Like it has sat there for four hundred years. edit: Found that there was a wolf that spawned inside the Lighthouse. Beacon seemed like an appropriate name.
  4. Very clever and simple change to expand the setting. This is a perfect example of a wish list item that would be easily within reach and not require an overhaul of the current game mechanics.
  5. Posted January 8 Could there be some resolution to this question: does the clothing item being worn by the character affect the probability of sprain? There seems to be some conjecture as neither statement has been proved. Even after the update to the sprain system there is still no response. If there is no indication in the change logs or road map that clothing can affect sprains then by logic the answer is probably no. Maybe this question of whether clothing affects sprain chance will be answered Soon™.
  6. There seems to be a variety of names for the Long Dark things. Fluffy - was the wolf's name that resided within Carter Hydro Dam. Sadly it was removed due to the update to the internal environment. R.I.P. Fluffy. George the Rabbit - was the rabbit I tried to save during a pilgrim run in Timber Wolf Mountain. The wolf attacked me as I was trying to interfere. First time I was attacked in pilgrim game. Raven Rock - found this in the back country and it sits lonely upon high ground. \ The area around the rock is a retreat for goats. Raven Rock is certainly a tasty lick. Contribute by adding to this thread. List the object within the game and the corresponding name with history.
  7. In my youth this was about how far away I was from an immense and powerful cataract. Looking down I remember that heavy feeling of vertigo.
  8. Thanks, I had forgotten about that new area.
  9. Going through some old screen shots and discovered these pictures of hidden caves that I found but sadly did not note the location. Mystery Cave #1 Mystery Cave #2 There are two hidden caves found that do have location data. The first is called Zig-Zag Nook This seems wind proof for a fire and there are some scrub brushes nearby. The bedroll can also be placed. The second one is called Moon Shadow Cave This area offers a camp fire and bedroll. The sound of the falls will soothe you to sleep in this non hostile zone.
  10. I am not a log driver but play one in a video game and am going to say that is not accurate.
  11. The drop point for the logs are being released down the ravine. On the right side is the ravine and up ahead is the area to drop a log. The timber dump cars are gathered in the staging area on the left. How's that for a log flume ride.
  12. Battery is snapped to the cooking slot.

    About modes

@Marcurios I feel your pain. Had very similar issues way back when I had less than 40 hours. Best advice is to step back maybe watch a stream of another interloper player. Learning maps is priority number one for interlopers. Alternatively go for cartography and play voyageur but pretend its interloper, only looting interloper items (by staying lightweight it is better for traveling).
  14. This is exactly what I was thinking. edit: Trembling I wait for an aurora. The ritual has only one step closer to fulfillment. It will be done proper this time unlike last time when the explosion occurred and the entire Lookout was toppled over and brought the ground. I am certain that the long dangly bit must go into the hot tea!

    About modes

Seems your 77% chance is following the curve. The sandbox survival game is not random. Maps and loot locations can easily remembered. The repeat-ability of the game still offers many players hours of entertainment. The key approach in my opinion is to play the game in a less hand held adventure but to be more hands on to do your own thing. Once the survival aspect of the game became easy for me I started looking for adventure. Most players strive to last for hundreds of days. For myself a route to deliver newspapers and books was the thing to do. Take my advice make up your own story and use The Long Dark as a canvas to tell it. The game after too many hours played still offers me locations that I have not visited. This location is in Mystery Lake and I just recently found it. It might not seem much to you but I explore maps extensively and excel in goating to locations that are extremely difficult to reach.
  16. This is odd. My bow was at hunters blind unnamed pond and hands were empty.
  17. Just picked up the bow and it did not auto equip. I was certain this was tested just after the last update.
  18. Learned about this two months ago and I gave it a try. Very decent method for preserving food I thought even if it was a little exploitey.
  19. Pack of wolves? Seeing four of them so close together is different.
  20. This same thing happened to me. The bug report actually went somewhere, how positive. Then I realize I have a wrist sprain and unable to equip a bow. As far as I know this bug still survives.
  21. This thread surprised me. I was just about to request a separate Wish List just for Long Dark 2. Most suggestions coming in lately are great but most of us know that TLD2 would be the best arena for these ideas. @Admin Could a Wish List For Long Dark 2 be created and stickied.

    Lean-To

Add in the feature to create a lean-to against fallen trees for the snow shelter. It could be more durable to wind and wear down less. It could have a shielded fire pit place holder so the option to build a fire is available.
