New! Hinterland Player Support Specialist

Hello all,

I'm happy to share the news that we have added a new Player Support Specialist to the Hinterland team. This is a replacement for our previous Player Support specialist who moved to a new role internally.

As with all our player-facing roles, @Player_Support will work through an anonymized account, for their protection, but I assure you they are a wonderful human. 👍🏻

If you run into issues with the game, feel free to report them to @Player_Support. If it's something they can help you with quickly, they will help you here, but mainly we're encouraging people to report their issues to the Player Support Portal.

@Player_Support is here to help, and please keep our Community Guidelines in mind when you interact with them. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards any hostility or abuse directed at Hinterland staff. Keep in mind that they are here to help with technical issues you may encounter with the game. They are not here to explain the reason for game delays, or to confirm/deny theories about story elements, or to discuss the finer details of gameplay tuning.

The team is working through a bit of a backlog of Support issues, and we appreciate your patience as we get through them. Our goal is to continue to improve the quality of information and service available through the Portal, to be visible and responsive to issues communicated in these forums, and to ensure the issues are logged and escalated to the Test and Development teams for further assessment. We may not be able to fix everything quickly, but we will log everything and fix as much as we can as soon as we can.

Thanks! And welcome to the official community, @Player_Support!

- Raphael

Welcome to the community @Player_Support!

Hoping you get settled in without much trouble, and that folks asking for help from you here remember to say if they are using mods or not to make your life a little easier when trying to track down root causes, work through troubleshooting steps, and triaging reports.

Leaving a first plate of

to hopefully help make you feel welcome and at home here! ❤️

Would it not be beneficial to post bug reports publicly so other players can share similar issues they face on a single bug rather than post the same bug report that is already known and all that therefore not filling the backlog with repeat bug reports if any?

That way we could see Player_Support working on handling those public bug reports and publicly acknowledging those reports so we could know if they are a bug or intended and whether they are fixed.

I don't think it's any forum member's place to tell/"suggest" how a member of the Hinterland Team performs their duties.
It seems to me, that this thread was meant for introductions... not really for critique before things even really got started.

Besides... why does anyone feel the need to suggest/imply a need to see Player_Support put on a public show so "other people" can see that they are working?  Feels like this is edging on the cusp of bad form for a "Welcome Abord" sort of thread.

:coffee::fire::coffee:
Let's please just stick to welcomes and introductions.

Also... As already established, other players can share similar issues they face by submitting Support Tickets.
There are also threads like this:

As well as entire Subforums such as:

We have a system that works well for us considering how we need to manage player issues/bugs across all our SKUs/platforms, and how this info interacts with the Test team and the Dev team. Doing this work "in public" isn't super conducive to how we work. It's also useful to us to see multiple reports of the same issue as it often means we get new info across multiple reports, as well as a sense of how common an issue is.

If we continue to be limited to what can be discussed on posts, can we at least be told what is acceptable and what is not, up-front?

Welcome, @Player_Support!

Cmon ,you know what he meant...  This is about saying hi to someone not tell them how to do their job... .  You can say what you like as long as  it abides by the forum rules ,as you should know after this long... Please be nice
