  1. Same here - i was w8ting for this moment.... Im wondering if the stock was sooo smal or did one or a couple of ppl bought all of the stock to resell later. I have just found a store in my native language offering TLD merchandise in my currency to buy. And it has loads of stuff like mugs, knives, posters and so on...... They look very genuine and professional. Almost like they were bought from Hinterland or made on their license. They are also more expensive the red mug costs about 50 $ American and its a 10% off offer limited to 10 more pieces or sth. The mugs they offer are even microvave safe and have customization options ........ CRAZY ! Check this out : https://www.etsy.com/pl/market/hinterland_mug I dont think if its official. But the merch looks good. Literally i just found it when reading your post and now i will try to buy stuff. They even have more stuff ...omg im about to cry https://www.etsy.com/pl/search?q=the long dark&ref=search_bar https://www.etsy.com/shop/cozycomfortstees/?etsrc=sdt&section_id=45889757 @Admin is this sanctioned by Hinterland ????
  2. I understand your point and i agree.
  3. Yeah i saw Your suggestion about the cleaning kits. I just leave them where they are or take them to my main base to put on the shelf of "bizzare" items that shouldnt be found on this difficulty. Im not really complaining that one of the bunker was full or im finding those items - i did leave the items inside and didnt take it. Im just informing that those things occure - im not sure if they are intended or not. I have played custom before and the cleaning kits where there but i have never seen so many actuall amunition and casings. Lots of them found via beachcombing. Then again i have found rifle ammo, hunting knife and cardboard matches on one of my interloper runs a few months ago.
  4. Hmm.. my last 3 interloper spawns were all in Desolation Point. 2 of them had same loot tables. So maybe something is off. I have abondoned the runs on 432, 268 and 48. Then Started Super Interloper run and currently on day 205ish and the loot is off. Its a interloper modified so shouldnt have stalker and below loot. On my current run not only i find weapon cleaning kits like before but also: The prepper bunker in Milton was loaded with loot - shouldnt happen and im checking other bunkers if its the only one or more. I have found revolver casings, revolver ammo, rifle casings as well.
  5. The bear is in the other part of the prison where you must go to get inside for the vest. You have to go outside via the gates near the bus and firebarrel and carry on left to get to the other part of the prison. Be wary there are a couple of black volves outside the fence. And yes the bear is not always ON.
  6. Yeah mabe try to give it another try. Maybe You will change Your mind. PS. Yes no forge.
  7. I, actually like it. Ive been living there for 100 days str8 one time on Interloper. I like the Bricklayers retreat base a lot. The place around it is so nice and food plentifull. There is a chance for a Moose on the pond, i always had a bear spawn in the cave nearby in all of the runs - the cave also serves well for Cabin Fever purpouse if needed. There are Timberwolves around which is a "fun" factor. You can get easily to the prison or mine from this location using the path behind the bear cave, then through the tunnel system to the power plant - the west part of the map if you want. Actually when you "get to know the map" better its very traverseble and easy to explore. There are some cool places on the map where you can stay for a couple of days like the broken cabin with the stove inside etc. I like luring timberwolves near the Bricklayers enterancie/pier and mess with them there running around and shooting them while they try to catch me. Its 2 minutes away from the barn in cooks farm - i llike luring the pack that is there to the bridge where im safe and just kill them one by one and they cant get to me. There is another pack on the other side of that bridge as well so i always have a fire there and a stack of wolfmeat. The Vest is a bonus - i actually used it maybe once or twice in the entire game. I like to have it in my main base for display.. I also tend to make a base in the officers office and near the firebarrel and bus in the prison. Like to kill the normal wolves and the 2nd bear if he is on (total of 3 bears in this region if im correct). The milling machine there repairs all of the gear for one scrap metal you dont need to reforge in late game when you dont have any more wetstones in the world and if you take 20-30 arrowheads there it will be enough. Yeah i like living there. As a matter of fact im on my way there now on my current Super Interloper run but had a skirmish with a bear in PV and will have to recuperate for at least a week in his cave consuming him whole to be able to travel again...... yes regeneration from 10 to 100% will take me a week at least on this difficulty.
  8. Okay so.... i was happy that i will buy some cool stuff today bcoz i was w8 on the 6th for the store to open but i didnt happen. How dissapointed i am now after finding out all, ALL of the stock is sold out..... oh well maybe they will restock the mugs and hatchet. Must have been very, very low stock. 😞
  9. Im not a modder nor that i know anything about the subject but i was always thinking: How come some1 from the community create such cool stuff like new mechanics, items, clothing wisible on hands etc and the actual studio cant or will do it once in a year or two? How this can be? I play on Xbox so i cant actually play with mods but i saw mods that make gloves visible and other stuff done by random ppl and cant understand why we had to w8 years for that offcial update that is suppose to come in december? About the official workshop - i think its a good idea.
  10. Hey, When i was 20 years younger and 20 years dumber than i am now i have worked in a construction company for about a year and a half in the UK (i was working abroad to earn money for my own place to live) as a steel erector. I was working with all kinds of metal pieces from bolts, nuts, steel elements small and big you name it. We had a big canteen there - the company was hiring about 1000 workers on that construction site so it was big and with a lot of microwaves and coffe pots and so on. One time we were having some fun time and we put like a two fists of screws, bolts and nuts in the microwave and turn it on We were amazed that the microwave didnt break. We set it for 15 sec on max power and we did see a lightning fest inside it was crazy. When it stopped we opened it and the metal parts inside had some black smokey sediment on them. When we took em out the glass plate had tiny little holes in it in places where the lightning bolts struck. Crazy. So ....yeah .....🙄 for science right ? PS. We didnt dare to put a raw egg inside 🤣
  11. If hypothermia is on i would make haste to the DAM - toilet water, cat tails outside and loot inside is good enough to cure the cold. I would loot the trailers on the way as well.
  12. The technical balaclava case is even more odd : I took the effort to finish the TFTFT on Super Interloper difficulty (very close to NOGOA) and it was very hard but i just wanted to test myself if i can do it. I knew that the reward will be the balaclava because i have finished the tales on 3 diffrent interloper runs before. Its frustrating really that even it the stats are better than the current best hat in game interloper and above which is the Aviator cap - (its even better than rabbit hat) you cant use them bcoz like the OP @BugReportEnthusiast said its inner layer. Now i have found 2 x aviator cap in my current super interloper run and each of then give when 100% condition : 2 degrees celcius heat, 2 degrees windchill buff 30% water proof and 4% defence The balaclava has the same except 50% waterproof and 5 % defence It would seem that it would be cool to wear Avaitor hat and balaclava thus have 1% more defence and 20% waterproof but it doesnt count bcoz it is inner layer..... This seems broken and i think shoud be adressed or maybe just make it 4% defence and buff the warmth a bit??? It confuses me as well. There is no actual benefit of getting that piece of gear - only cosmetics. And its a reward for tales done on hard difficulty. Now im thinking that the balaclava shold be just a random loot item and the Red Lantern should be the reward on interloper and above.
  13. Yeah yesterday i shot a bear in his cave near the Tales bunker in PV (i was waiting for aurora in the bear cave close to the bunker) and he did flee. I made some water on the fireplace and notice he came back and died in front of the cave enterance (it looked like it). Pizza delivery i thought and was about to run to it to start harvesting. Then the thought - he is messing with me ! And i decided to take a shot at him. The basterd got up and chargeg towards me :D:D hopefully i managed to shoot it again and it died right by the fire
  14. Yeah i will have to state the same. Done that quite a few times. You did eat raw meat.
  15. I really like this challenge and this video. Some close calls even I will definatelly try this one when my Super Interloper run dies or reaches 500 days.
  16. Yes i play those too and they are the best IMO. On Interloper your health regeneration is so fast that you can drain it to almost zero and drink a herbal tea + go to sleep and half of your health will be regenerated - seems too easy and too fast thus like you said low threat of hunting and freezing. On NOGOA your health will never be regenerated without a stim - seems unreal that even if you hunker down in a cabin for a week, eat take medicine, drink, get warm you will not be able to regenerate health. Lowest day and night health regeneration is PERFECT. Its the difficulty i like the most and it gives me most fun out of the game. It really forces you to think and be very aware of what you are doing. A simple hike from ML to Broken Railroad this weekend - my health was about 89% when i started and got some bad weather that forced me to light a lot of fires and the wind change setup on max didint help so i lost some % on the way. Anyway i was close to the BR garage and trying to sneak past 3 wolves to get inside. Unfortunatelly one of them got me (it was windy and the wolf was too close for me to light a flare) and managed to get inside with 19% heath. After that i had to spend a week there to regenerate my health to be able to travel again so i setup a base there and recovered, hunting, repairing, cooking etc. It seems really realistic that way for me. This way every big hunt i want to make must be perfect, prepared, and i need to be in good heath to do that. This gives me great immersion. I think i will never be back to interloper again. It became too easy. About the bones and markings - A far as i know bones are indeed indicators if the bear spawn is active or not. Bones will never appear or disappear. Same with markings but with some exeptions: Moose spawn outside Trappers cabin - its a special spawn Moose in Desolation point on the bridge - i believe they are no markings there ever but im not 100% sure. Other than that if there are no markings where the moose supposed to be, the moose will never spawn there. The moose will never create new markings. Yes there can be runs with regions that supposed to have moose but there are no markings thus the moose will never spawn.
  17. At least You have the markings so moose didnt spawned but can be there in other time. My run has no markings thus no moose spawn ever. And a Bear
  18. I think the same. Cooking made the game easier but i almost never cook. The only thing i carry with me is oats maybe. Sometimes ill bake a ptarmigan pie or rosehip pie but i keep all the cooking materials in the main base and dont use it. Dont need to. I even stopped gathering acorns except a few to make lures maybe and thats it. Yeah i tried that and indeed You will be warm and the fire will not get blown out but like you said it takes too much time to break the ice and i would get better yield by spending this time in the hut regular fishing. And like you said it is only good when desperately in need of lamp oil and no fishing region. Although you cant fish i all regions even with tip up. Unfortunatelly You cant fish in the pond outside the Bricklayers which is odd IMO bcoz there is a fishing boat there. Yes the whole system needs a revamp.
  19. On my current custom Super Interloper run im in Hunters lodge ATM but there were no moose markings and no moose.... Mostly the moose is there. Anyway ill go to FA today to start the Tale and maybe ill find a moose there - not that i need the skin have 3 allready but its a good food source.
  20. Instead of bear skin bedroll i would take improved one - the bearskin requires bear skin to repair and your sleeping bag condition will go down fast in HRV not to mention the weight, no meat what so ever - just start with belly full and instead i would take 12 cattails and one box of crackers - there is plenty of wildlife in HRV, no guns only bow and 10 normal and 9 fire hardened arrows, no rope - you dont need it there and if you do just take one of the existing ones in HRV, antibiotocs ok, painkillers no need but ok, 2 adrenalin shots ok, no antiseptic its too heavy use old mans beard instead - keep minimum 2 of bandages at all times, 3 normal bandages, 3 litres of water ok, i dont have energy drinks but i guess they are ok if you need them, lantern with full oil, 12 sticks, at least 6 coal, 30 cloth, 5 ptarmigan feathers, 2 cooking pots, ~ 20 matches and a maglense, sewing kit @ 100%, Wetstone @ 100%. Before the trip repair all clothes and tools. EDIT : How long do you want to stay in the region?
  21. When i started playing survival mode (played story first but its way easier than surv mode) i decided to start on interloper ( i tend to play games on hard diff) but my ass was handed to me so hard i could not survive even one day. I decided to look up for some tutorial on YT and found Zaknafeins video about Interloper and how to play it and the first thing he said was: If you dont know the maps very well you should not start Interloper. After that info i started a Voyager run and it went well. I got to about day 300 ingame maxing out all skills to lvl 5 and learning all of the maps. Then i decided to give Interloper another try and after some tries i managed to survive the opening gauntlet and developed my run. And as others said Stalker is just a bit harder than Voyager so after so many years playing i would suggest trying loper. Good luck !
