  1. Recommendation: File bug reports/trouble tickets with Hinterland Support (link below).
  2. @Leeanda I think that pack is perhaps still bugged out. Also one of the lockers in the Rural Store in Pleasant Valley. I don't remember the whole list of containers that folks have reported. I'm probably going to circle back and make a fresh ticket for the locker... as well as the exploit for match condition. (I do want to re-test that to verify first... but I didn't see anything about it in change log)
  3. @hozz1235 Again... I'm not taking the bait. I'm not going to be arguing with you either. It's the Admins who get to judge the comments on this forum... not me or anyone else. As always, I defer to them.
  4. @Leeanda I think my highest string of consecutive of failed attempts for mending was about 6 (if I remember correctly). Though I did, a long time ago, have a 24-karat run of bad luck with fire-starting... It amounted to 8 wasted matches (of which I had 10 at the time). Needless to say, after that experience I started using torches or a mag-lens for all fire-starting attempts from then on.
  5. And I said as much. But I think it's bad form to start trying to get hostile just because another opinion won't acquiesce or capitulate. I wasn't pointing out anyone in particular... why do you assume I was talking about you? If you really felt it was okay... they why continue to try and pick fights? I'm not going to take the bait. Anyway... as I said, I'm not going to be drawn into any protracted arguments about it. As I mentioned before, I said my peace... and I stand by it.
  6. I'd say that Hinterland has given me nine years of a wonderful game (and likely for many more years to come). A game that's been greatly updated, expanded upon, and continues to grow far above and beyond what I've ever gotten for my money with any other game. Even between the game itself, two soundtrack volumes, and The Far Territory DLC... I've still paid far less than most games I have in my library. I know there are some folks here who seem to like "throwing stones" when they feel they are not getting what they expect fast enough, and sure... folks have the right to feel however they want about it. However, I think some of the rather harsh assumptions and accusations are rather unwarranted (given what Hinterland has already provided over the years and show no signs of stopping). It's not like Hinterland has abandoned the game, took the money, and ran... they have not. (there are several examples in the Kickstarter/Early Access ecosystem where that was precisely what happened) Hinterland has been continuing to show and communicate their plans, work, and intentions throughout the years. I suppose for some, Hinterland may not communicate enough for it to suit some folk's apparent feeling of entitlement... but they do communicate with us. From what I see, they work hard to deliver on their plans the best that they can, and it's clear to me that they work to fix issues as quickly as they can when things don't go to plan. We can't know all the issues and challenges they face... I think it's evident that the team is doing the best they can. I feel that Hinterland has earned a lot of good will. To me, they more than deserve the benefit of the doubt. I understand that some feel upset, but I'd also encourage folks to take in a little perspective... I've said my peace... I'm not interested in being drawn into any protracted arguments about it. If we don't agree, that's okay.
  7. [While not the first or perhaps not the most popular version... it's by far my favorite rendition]
  8. I quickly rushed back outside to finish the hard push to get back up to the Summit at Ravine's End, and to hole-up in the Pensive Lookout for the remainder of the night. However, by the time I'd gotten to back to the rope... I was already starting to freeze to death. At this rate... I'd be frozen half dead by the time I reach the bed at the top of the tower. Slept hard for the rest of the night... sneaking around through Timberwolf territory at night... and during an aurora without any weapons is stressful. 🤭😖
  9. I'd say that the improvised hand and head coverings were already made available because head and hand coverings are not starting gear items for Stalker/Interloper. (*note: in my experience, Stalker does have a good chance to start with hand coverings and sometimes without, but Interloper will always be without either head or hand coverings) Socks, on the other hand... are starting gear items at all levels. So, I'd say it's fine that an improvised variant are not craftable. To my mind, if we start with socks and lose them... then it's just part of the challenge and struggle if we can't find them later on. Also... it's been demonstrated that we can survive just fine on only animal pelt crafted clothing (meaning socks are nice... but we can do without). I've never really liked the improvised head and hand coverings (which is why I choose not to make or use them), and as it stands... I'm not really in favor of the idea improvised socks, I feel like they only serve to make life easier for the player. ...And I'm rarely in favor of anything that makes life easier for the player.
  10. Hinterland has given several news/update posts, feedback from Admins, and Dev Diaries... this thread feels as though it was just made to be antagonistic. (or possibly just created by a poster who hasn't read any of the of the news/updates or dev diaries)
  11. @TiffTastic Welcome back to the wilderness.
  12. @Leeanda Turned out that the Timberwolves were skulking around on the slopes near the frozen pond. It was a tense crawl to slip passed. Especially sine I could only get eyes on one of them, and the others I had no good way to verify where exactly they were.
  13. Full circle... here again is where I'd goated down from the Secret Mountain Path. I figured now was as good a time as any to see if might be able to just beachcomb my way back to the Washed-Out Trailers rather than hop from delta to delta. Turned out the answer is, "Kind of..." Also, while the weather seems to be holding for now... the visibility is getting a bit worse, and the snow fall a bit heavier. It could still kick up into a blizzard, but so far feels safe to keep pressing on. I did a quick sort and stow... and realized I had more than a few Go! Energy drinks that I've been holding on to in my pack. I decided that as long as the weather holds... I'm going to make a hard push to get back up to the Summit at Ravine's End. Of course, just as I commit the route... the weather starts pushing back harder. Still not a blizzard... so I'm going to keep pushing to get as far as I can. In two of the cars on Long Bridge, I found clues to two more memento caches. The weather was calming down... but it was also getting deadly dark. If it stays this overcast... it will significantly more dangerous to try and get back to the Pensive Lookout. It was getting so dark, that I could barely feel my way down to the broken pier near the Cannery Worker's Residence. I crawled underneath it and sat for about an hour hoping the clouds would break. ...and break they did. Getting close to the climbing point... but I think I've spotted at least two Timberwolf packs skulking around the area. It's hard to make out, but there ahead is one of the Timberwolves... right near where I need to get to. 🤔 The rope is just ahead... but I'm already freezing. I decided it might be better to stop off at the nearby cabin to warm up before trying to make the climb. Maybe just lay down for an hour... just to warm up again.
  14. I won't be making the same mistake again... Staying dry this time. By the time I made it back the is Hunter's Blind, it was nearly noon... waiting out the potential bad weather has cost me nearly half the day. To compensate, I'm going to be keeping my energy up with the coffee I made while I was waiting for my clothing to dry. If the weather is clear this evening... I might consider a night hike to try and make up for the lost day. However, I'll just have to wait and see... The way ahead looks clear... so far, no sign of Timberwolf Packs. Maybe the day spent inside has an upside... I suppose I'll know one way or another when I get around the next bend. Just below where I was standing to scout ahead was a cave. Lantern Fuel and Flare. Actually, probably among some of the most useful things to have found for the Cannery Rush I have a head of me. Thankfully I do already have enough of each of already... but it's still a nice find. The way ahead is still clear... 🤔 However, the weather is kicking up again... could be that the blizzard might actually arrive soon. Frankly, I hope not. ...pressing on. The area is so empty today... it feels wrong, but I won't complain. Nothing much to speak of in the blind... two spent casings and a bottle of antibiotics. Okay... the native moose of Bleak Inlet is indeed at home today. Duely noted. Kept a respectful distance as I passed by... couldn't help but take a few minutes to just watch has he went on about his day. Just a little further along the ridgeline is the cave system that leads to Forlorn Muskeg. Very near that entry way into Bleak Inlet... the Timberwolves have left behind their declaration of hostility. Almost as if to say... "Tread carefully... because here we even kill other wolves who dare trespass." As I approached the Ravine's End waterfall... I'm trying to decide whether or not to prospect my way back across the bridge and perhaps try to get back up to the Summit at Ravine's End. I could always sleep up in the Pensive Lookout. I've also got some coffee for additional energy. However... if there are no Timberwolf Packs near the Frozen Deltas... then they might be thick on the other side of the bridge. 🤔 I'll try to make up my mind on the way back to the Washed-Out Trailers.
  15. What looked like a building blizzard this morning looks like it's finally abating. Time to hit the trail. I have a lot of ground to cover if I'm going to make up for accidentally trying out for the Polar Bear Club yesterday.
  16. Waiting with bated breath... 😋
  17. Also found this from Milton Mail Bag: Dispatch 33 [person asked a question about the blank cairns, this is part of Raph's response]
  18. By Other... I mean polish. New Regions are wonderful (of course), but my favorite kind of update is one that improves the game's polish. This includes: bugfixes, cosmetic improvements (like animations, textures, the gear accurate representations of our survivor on screen), the fine tuning of mechanics (as the team feels would be an improvement over the previous iteration), and rebalancing the game as the game world gets larger and resources/wild life get more abundant as a result.
  19. Spot on That's what I hope for with the new camera as well.
  20. The Hand-crank Movie/Film Cameras have the other sort of problem... we couldn't just set up and walk away, because someone needs to crank the handle. So, while it's true that the old Movie Cameras are purely mechanical and do not require electricity... it also means we have to be the one turning the crank... so we couldn't really get footage of wildlife any closer than we normally could anyway. 🤔 I appreciate the creativity of this Wish List item... but for me, I think that if I did really want to record some video, I'd probably just look into OBS (since it's free and I can then make videos from all of my games rather than just one).
