  1. BareSkin31- D7x 8x 9x [Sleepwalker level 7] In order to avoid dying stupidly before day 100, B31 joined the Great Bear Research Center. Here are his findings about late temperatures for "Weather gets colder over time" = "high" (max): I guess we could open a thread dedicated to Science in which we could link the findings of different scientists ( @Timber Wolf@Ruruwawa@Drifter Man et al.) Fighting boredom This is some serious dedication to Science Went to -56°C: that's -90°C total. Artic. It's good to have some company in this empty late world. Still had enough bear steaks. And then... this happened 😱:
  2. The only thing sure about doomday 55 is that nothing will happen to you if you're on the Summit. Plus extra flavour for becoming a bettter survival than me! Never made it to the top of the world on any mode harder than Interloper. Didn't try actually, that'd be a bit suicidal, but other did with success.
  3. I think yes, it really happened to me having 2 on Interloper. Never on SW thought, but I usually don't cover much ground in these modes. My brain tells me they're usually found in strange places we don't often go, like trailers at ML logging camp or near Hibernia I think too . Not sure if I could reproduced this with statistical significance. My next will be a sleepwalker 8. I feel more and more ready for a new deadman try, someday. Maybe. BareSkin31- D6x [Sleepwalker level 7] Very Hungry Less hungry, and less "Well fed". Kinda joke, I guess. When a came back couple weeks later after playing the Cinderella Challenge. At that point I felt the SW7 game was done, just of matter of fighting Fever 1 pic to sum up my game until day 100? This one. Can you hear the wolf barking behind me? He annoyed me, I need the branches at Max. The only good reason for running on a sleepwalk running has a grey fear and long teeth. The best state of a wolf: dead. Day 72. Thank you @Hinterland, I can finally be a true survivor.
  4. Only in Sleepwalker level 0 (yours), it's supposed to be 4 times higher than regular Interloper. Nah, the challenge is only "Survive until Spring" (100 days). I added the Summit for your Voyager-sleepwlaker to make it a bit harder It's still a bit of a mystery even to me, I get this is a mix of things: not only weather, not only number of uses. This is the first turning point of this mode. The second one arrive at day 55. Sorry for not answering sooner, I just read this back from when the forums closed. I think and hope you enjoy playing sleepwalking. It might sound easy for now, but you can't be sure you've won the challenge for sure before day 60-70. I'm enjoying this read!
  5. BareSkin31- D5x [Sleepwalker level 7] Oh, THIS is good for making it to day 100 Sooner or later, it had to happen... Fortunately the late game gives you a nice show for outdoor fires
  6. BareSkin31- D5x [Sleepwalker level 7] After few days spent healing and crafting, let's get ready for Cabin Fever At the Pond, I start a risky fire to spend some time at the Blind. I pray the weather gods, but the fog is a good omen Those damn blood traces are bugged: they stopped 100m away, I'll have to wait for the crows and sleep at nearby Cabin Next morning, I find the carcass, but this stupid 'no fire on slope" rule prevents me from quartering it, I grab few steaks at a time, it's horrible gameplay design Killing a bear without loosing health on post-50 loper is quite an acheivement
  7. BareSkin31- D3x [Sleepwalker level 7] You like rabbits too much dude, and I need a second pelt for my jacket Cruising the map in search of the bear (and I let some guts to cure at Overlook) Paying my respects to Bareskin7
  8. BareSkin31- D30 [Sleepwalker level 7] The Milton run has been prolific with its main goal, aka matches Perfect weather for an encounter between 2 great wildlife forms Had to use 4 of my 5 arrows. Let's begin quartering it Food shouldn't be a concern for some days Late Loper temperatures
  9. BareSkin31- D2x [Sleepwalker level 7] Departing from Grey, I loot the hilltop house and go for the farm The more you're hungry, the less you think The best interloping coat? yes please. Food poisoning washed off Milton Basin: no turning back after this rope. Tonight I sleep in the cave below Isn't it a wonderful day to eat cattail stalks? Shortwave tower: this think is useless now Back home: my friend's still here.
  10. BareSkin31- D2x [Sleepwalker level 7] Between Orca and Grey mothers, Loot paradise (total 3 boxes of matches) Ready for late Loper temperatures?
  11. Thanks for giving some feedback, and glad you read it BareSkin31- D2x [Sleepwalker level 7] Time for revenge after weeks of harassment This is good news Hide and seek, would it be a good hunting spot? Despite the maglens, I decided 12 matches would be too few to survive long term, so it's time to go for MT now that I finished the sewing kit crafts (rabbit, deer). The rope to Milton is not kidding. I barely make it, sadly I didn't have coffee Tomorrow is loot day!
  12. BareSkin31- Dx [Sleepwalker level 7] Went for the coal and stalks, didn't go down No idea where this was, but I bet I surely stuffed my stomach and left happy BareSkin31- D1x [Sleepwalker level 7] Day 12. I did run to get there avoiding cold, but I'll pay for it of course with useless sleeping Back with arrowheads but no bow yet, hope they'll wait for me Problem solved, let's get to the business! Hello! From previous skins My first earned meat, before day 20-ish
  13. BareSkin31- Dx [Sleepwalker level 7] Going to the Lake via Alan Love it Love it too, more sticks Arriving at Trapper's. Hello Moose. 2 tukes found: 1 there, one at Pond Cabin. Everyone loves guts Still not dead, good news.
  14. That's actually 20x faster. @Gooner77 Loved this story, hope there'll be more. Special thanks for the funny rabbit screenshot
  15. Oh yeah, grabbing the spear is actually the hardest part. I used a lot of patience, analyzing the bear trajectory. Went to the end of the map (the other side compared to where you come from), since the hiding place is really near the Spear. When he's on his "far way and not looking at you" path, I advanced crouched (iirc you can even brake line of sight), then climbed crouch, grabbed and run back to safety. Every time I tried to get this Spear from any other hiding place, I failed.
  16. Just, if you don't want to end up "exploiting" starvation, I'd recommend a sleepwalking flavor. Even in sleepwalking you're encouraged to sleep long stretches, as every "sleeping" will actually make you loose 1h of awake healing.
  17. Is it this quest that asks you to loot a corpse near a fire at Unnamed Pond, said corpse not being there in the beginning? Can't remember if the infinite fire at the Pond is triggered by being kicked off for Trapper's, or some bear-thing.
  18. I can't remember any countdown...
  19. BareSkin31- D1 [Sleepwalker level 7] I didn't wrote a log for this one, so I'll post only screenshots . Comic strip time. Can't stay here, no matches, no water Arriving at the Dam. Sleepwalker gives 1% health back every 4h spent awake with 4 needs OK. That's roughly 20%/week in ideal conditions... Got ignition, got water toilet, plus some food. The first crucial hours are done.
  20. Really, it's a game, do whatever gets you the most fun. If you need more challenge to have more fun, go for it . Sorry to have underestimated you, that was absolutely not my goal!
  21. You might end up finding a shorter version, that maybe might involve a bit a sprinting, since I always end up arriving at Spence from the group of burnt houses to avoid this very wolfy Spence front approach.
  22. Absolutely not . The final code is some sort of condensed version of the value you input in the parameters. 1 code= 1 set of parameters. It doesn't matter what you choose before putting the code, it's just two different ways of launching the same game. I could also give you all the parameters value, but that'd be less practical. Try for yourself if you want: Choose the Voyageur template, chande "At reste condition" to "None", click "Share Code"= you get the sleepwalking voyageur code. If you really want to start the Interloper version and get the "Proudly Arrogant" diploma, this is Sleepwalker level 0, the code is 8MDM-qj4P-KxuD-iaGO-7gAA. But I strongly advise you not to try before being confident a bit with interloper (its cold, its lack of weapons...). For everything else I will refer you my "Bareskins are Sleepwalking" series and to this explaining post, since all the custom codes are there, copy-pastable: I'd say yes (the needs deplete faster but you still find plenty of resources). It's a point I disagree with many people, but to me what characterizes Interloper is the absence of Rifle (and lack of spawn bedroll). I might be very wrong about it, 'cause I never played Stalker. The numbers of wolves is not that important when you have a rifle. Interloper (and thus sleepwalkers and deadmen) is the only mode in which you're defenseless until you earn the right to be the hunter. A good compromise would be to have Stalker-sleepwalker settings (still easy to keep being Well Fed, but colder and stronger wolves) with Voyageur spawn chance and without the Rifle. The Custom code for that would be 8lGY-mmpa-KBpD-hymG-LgEA, or if you want to do it yourself: -Select Stalker base template -Remove sleep-healing (it's a sleepwalker) -Tune down "Wolf spawn chance" from "Very high" (Stalker) to "Medium" (Voyageur) -Set "Rifle availability" to "No" There is no settings for removing the whetstones, you're just unlucky Oh yes, told that myself on my first day of Interloping. The next day, I was starved and didn't think twice before shooting, snapping, harvesting, cooking and eating it. I wonder, how do you deal with rifle-shooting deers then? On my first successful attempt at Sleepwalking, I ended proud when I didn't have to kill deers anymore. I just kept them roaming around my house, as a company. Late lopers are really empty and silent, so it's good to have friends.
  23. I don't know if it's the sentence that is wrong of my understanding of it (we agree Rpisode 3 wasn't realeased in 2017, right?) That made me think that this morning, I finished Portal in 4h. I actually thought the endgame boss was just the end of the tutorial... Until I saw the credits rolling in... I f I had to pay a Portal price for every episode, TLD would be much more expensive! Also, on a personal level, I'd rather see more survival bushcraft than firearms. We already have tons of shooting games.
  24. That would be a simple pure Sleewalker level 0, and It's made for those very confident on themselves regarding Interloper, so, fell free to try when you feel ready! But you could also fine-tune a Stalker Sleepwalker (since it's a customized mode) to tune down just the wolf population 1 step below regular Stalker. Speak to them nicely, and they'll align themselves for you. There's a pic in last last OIC of Cinderella for the shooting moment. I do love them, 1stone=1knife. That is, when I don't die on my trip to the forge, of course. Before that, they're obviously never needed. I never crafted or used a hatchet, tbh.
  25. Hum, maybe that was way too easy? Didn't want to throw you on a stalker
