I don't think we're expecting it to be laid out for the next 12 months - that would be unrealistic and set HL up for, potentially, false promises. I DO think it is fair to communicate what will be released as they finalize it - maybe a week(?) before Part 2 comes out, or days, or heck, THE day.
I don't think it was THAT big of a mistake! Can't expect perfection, but I do believe people were expecting a tad bit more from this rollout (and I'm speaking generally).
To summarize (and correct), sounds like we've found 4 of the 5 referred to in the video? Sounds like there is a 3rd rifle variant - has anyone found it yet?
Vaughn's Rifle
Barb's Rifle
____________ 3rd Rifle???
Spelunker's Lantern
Woodwright's Bow
When TLD first came out, my daughter had a pet bunny. She also liked to watch me play. I had to make a point not to hunt rabbits (and especially wring their neck) while she was watching!
I love watching the videos, but I tend to watch somewhat passively, not have a notepad jotting down things as I watch.
When I envisioned a "roadmap", I see:
Part 1
Release date:
Content Included:
Part 2 etc.
...at a minimum. This makes it so people can easily go back and quickly review what came out when.
Remember, if you don't want to know what is coming out, don't read it!
So, you'd be okay if they removed hatchets from the game and didn't tell you?
Also, if you didn't know what was added, how would you ever know if you found that mystery item?
Based upon the note, I thought maybe a corpse would be found in the gorge, but no luck. Now that I think about and re-reading your reply @yollarbenibekler, I suppose it could mark the new transition. I got one in ML like that - it pointed to the cave transition to Milton. Was a little disappointed in that, but I suppose for a new player, that may have some value and not require so much exploration to find.
I thought about this too, but then again, I'm pretty sure I'll be alright without the bunkers. It's not going to stop me from playing my new 'long run'.
Despite your negative connotations, you are right. People should be free to express their thoughts, while also trying to by sympathetic to the complexity of software design.
You guys are lucky to have found firearms. I started in BRR Maint. shed and completely cleared the new areas without a single firearm. After coming back to BRR, found one in Hunter's Lodge.
Just remember, the new regions (esp. FA) is reputedly the harshest region, so even on Pilgrim, you might have had to gear up a bit before venturing there (unless you want a challenge)
