hozz1235
My preferred dark-places exploration lighting source has always been the lantern but lately it seems to put off a horrible hazy halo effect. Anyone else seeing this in their game? Want to make sure it is not some graphics setting I have. I've added a torch as comparison.
SpanishMoss
Yeah I've had this too. Strangely it only appeared in the transition region to the far territory like how your showing there.
cullam
I definitely noticed it while traveling there. I don't think I took note of if it was happening elsewhere.
TFA303
I thought it was an intentional atmospheric effect...
cullam
I can confirm that this effect did not appear in TWM and Ash Canyon cave systems. It might be a deliberate hazy effect in that cave is interacting poorly with the lamp. I'd file it with support.
I_eat_only_wolf_meat
I have the same problem.
wilsonaka
The "haze" you're seeing is because you have the Spelunker's Lantern. It offers less fuel usage and the con is that the light has a smaller radius. This may be why the glow is much more pronounced, as I do not see it with the regular lantern.
mfuegemann
No, it is the same with normal lanterns. It is especially visible in the new regions. Torches give way more light than lanterns in caves now. I reported it as a bug already.
Leeanda
Couldn't it just be something to do with the glimmer fog? I know it sounds a bit far fetched but just a thought.

As others have pointed out, sounds like this is an issue that only occurs in Transfer Pass and/or new areas.

That's probably the case but I just wondered if some of the effects, however remote, might be possible.. of course it's a lot more likely to be a bug but anythings possible. Htl are a bit sneaky sometimes....in a good way of course☺️
