Is this random or is this a Canadian thing?

I found this combo in a fishing shack...

Made me wonder if this is random placement by the AI or is this pairing of flavors intentional.   Is grape soda and ketchup crisps an actual thing?

It's common at parties to get a Crush rainbow pack that has orange & grape crush & cream soda. And ketchup chips are popular.

I'm positive I've eaten this combo a few times. Though not intentionally mixing the flavours. LOL

I wonder if Shasta is still around.  They had this jingle where somebody would pop open a can and they'e starting singing "I want a pop, I want a Shasta!" and of course they'd be holding an orange flavored drink.

@odizzido,  Shasta was a regional brand in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle/Tacoma/Portland areas.  They may have reached up into Vancouver, BC just based on proximity.

You know what's really odd?

The fact that all soft drinks in this game are called "soda", despite the fact that literally every Canadian (that includes me) calls it "pop".

That's an interesting bit of trivia.  She started her YouTube channel about a year before TLD was released. 
I guess the Dev team liked watching her play Minecraft? eh?

So yes, Shasta still exists, though I normally find it in the dollar stores and some rural convenience stores.  
 

And I’ve never even seen ketchup potato chips except in the movie “The Big Year”.  
 

That being said; “Grape Drink” is popular in certain locales in both the north and south US.  
Pairing with ketchup chips though….???

We have an International Food & Deli in our area, and I am fairly certain that I have seen Ketchup Chips there. I will check next time we go.

Ketchup chips from my experience don't taste like ketchup!  I think those who do eat them over here usually drink beer!🙂

As a Canadian, I've eaten ketchup chips many times and probably paired it up with a Grape Crush pop at some point, although I prefer Orange Crush to the grape.  Ketchup chips go best with a Molson's though.

I’ve tired it its actually a good combo in my opinion. The flavor clash of sweet vs savory works well, it all depends on if you like the items by themselves. And as a big grape drink fan I give it a 10/10 👍
