  1. love the idea, and we had something similar done already when we fixed the spear when the furnace was hot enough the timer went away... it depends, the tunnels were used by the staff to maintain the prison, that's obvious so the burners and lamps would be burning for a few weeks probably... still a stretch i'd like to argue that mathis' goons went down there regularly to try and pry things open... but even that would leave the innermost lamps unexplained - and judging by their introduction i think it's highly unlikely they went all the way to the powerplant to get down the other side... and the other question, could/would your trust them to maintain the burners? on the one hand they might freeze upstairs - on the other hand thats hours and hours of hard labor every day yet i can understand why the decision was made gameplay wise - for tld thats a very new area unlike anything we saw up to this point, while keeping in mind that wintermute tends to be more forgiving/easier than the sandbox (looking at you forest talker cache in the mine) having some lights would def. help the orientation of less experienced survivors in addition: afaik great bear island is located in or close to the bering strait, so geothermal vents could easily be a thing (ring of fire and so on) especially after the many earthquakes we all observed
  2. no they didn't say ingame or otherwise was mostly joking and yes, it feels like (and we know the tunnels are around 100yo) someone down there is prob still shoveling coal into some burner and hiding while we come through yoinking all the levers xD just seemed kinda logical, as far as logic works in tld and yes those doors should prob have completely locked down days or weeks ago maybe that sequence is all about them not being able to start it up again? it works for me, introduction to the steam tunnels and so on...
  3. and yet there's a sequence in the steam tunnels where we all were flipping levers like fools my point was that there are 21 of them dang things and 1 of em doesn't make sense - yes i agree in multiple ways that single one seems stupid and nonsensical - yet your point is mute - logic puzzles are separate from game logic? no! try your luck with ocarina of time, or some early dos games, many of which had sound logical puzzles until they didn't tld is no different, it always follows the same logic : not rly that realistic
  4. we'll it's not a leak like the first valve - it leaks all the pressure it stops after a moment xD i can understand why someone would try to undermine the expectations for gameplay reasons imo it would make more sense to have that same effect with the 3 connection valve(still delivering pressure to the top so nobody notices you tinkering with things...) but yeah, bottom valve does the trick xD
  5. I'd love to have the forrest talker stashes to work into the story like we need their explosives to end ep 5 or similar also: yes screw mathis and shoot him between his eyes for not using screw in his dialoge
  6. they only take coats, hats and gloves - everything else they leave be you can enter with deer pants or wool shirts no problem for items themselves idk I stashed em outside
  7. precisely - fluidics in a game with hostile wolves and the ability to survive being mauled by a bear/moose the first puzzle is 6 levers - so 6 on or off questions mostly supported by logic and gauges 5 of them are obvious i myself wasted a lot of time cause i misunderstood the last one... kept laughing at myself thru the entire tunnel system for not trying my first thought on said last lever it's a game, and an unforgiving one at that (yes savegames yada yada) just push through and enjoy your victory after that or maybe try to get lvl 71 in escape from tarkov - if u want to know real pain... PS.: their forums are even less forgiving xD
  8. sorry cant help with that never had any trouble with the bridge tbh i only used it when i was stalked by a non pack wolf... glad i could help tho
  9. geothermal power xD also: some gnome turned all the valves off years ago
  10. Hello lads and ladies, When the 12th month wen by I feared the worst, did covid break my favorite developers? I almost lost hope but then, suddenly, a few days before the 18th month we finally got a message And I found my faith in you all again A few days past you released episode 4 and I, after a few hours of gameplay, was overjoyed You did a glorious job Still feels like tld from years ago, fluid storytelling and character animations, not to mention all the love and care that went into the dubs I’m proud to have supported you, I even bought a second copy and I’m glad I did. Tbh, now I’m willing to wait another 2 years for the “last” episode of great storytelling and me vs the “elements” (even though there were a lot of furry elements on the main road I could have done without) Please keep doing what you do best, so very happy with -fury, then silence- Love camel PS.: will buy every and any DLC you'll release ❤️ PPS.: would love to loot the dude mentioned in the title
  11. pretty disappointed tbh not about the episode itself fresh, polished and very nicely animated but my "mac" left mystery lake with all available crafted clothing and 45 kg of equipment, since "they" leave you without hats, coats and gloves... i expected to have at least the pants left no and in addition can't craft moose and bear gear disappointing especially when there are bears and moose around....
  12. there are 2 bodies there up the valley i couldn't loot them myself but the worker himself... spoiler spoiler he's not "upstairs" u might wanna climb down the river bed...
  13. please admin/mod close this one people who are unable to read patch notes can read about the filter here let's take care of serious issues
  14. rly? wow ... your grasp of the obvious is astounding thank you sensei - i will treasure this knowledge 4eva xoxo
  15. very sorry you felt that way obviously tld is meant to be played by small children hope your 8yo enjoys the night walker or being mauled to death by a bear like all those other kids do nightmare material is O.K., things they hear on the way to the playground: no no no... naughty devs, trying to make the "people too bad to stay on the mainland" sound/appear that way i agree an old lady or a trapper may have different speech patterns than a bunch of murderers and criminals locked up in canada's version of alcatraz little excessive or not good call to add the roughness to the new antagonists in addition: imo the decision to include human antagonists really mixes things up, we play vs nature for years now, having something to work against thats not wind, cold or bears is a nice change
  16. found the sound... its marine flare going out... playing over every other action I perform
  17. indeed but even if you use "paths off the beaten track" - especially looking at you wooden pedestrian bridge -.- there will be a 5 pack waiting for you on the other side - even if you just killed 4 of the last pack right there... they will spawn on their comrades dead bodies edit: no matter what i vote for either: a. less packs (not wolves just reduce packs PLEASE) or b. an ammo crafting furnace there are tons of batteries and gp around, gimme gimme a furnace
  18. honeys... your kids know the f-word from like age 8 if you're lucky... don't whine about it being used in a kinda grown up game, further: no fortnite/cod kid will ever get to ep4 before they are 20+ not enough instant grat to be found here - just be happy and enjoy xD
  19. well... you basically got a knife wielding 5 man every other 3 minutes, imagine they just dress up as wolves i believe the devs would like us to use the new ""noise"" thingies... but no way - to much effort - not enough gain - not worth the ammo i could craft with the raw materials needed
  20. you need to open the second room, straight past the firebarrel you passed when entering the first time... puzzle to the left will unlock the second visible crank in that picture edit: and the second room after that
  21. not rly but if you look closely you keep pushing steam upstairs while activating your boiler thingy, in the first puzzle at least had it solved myself when i saw a leak and broke my solution, took me like 10 min to get it working "again" -.- so maybe... one could argue you did that so the morons wouldn't notice... still the leakage threw me off too best tip: look at the gauges... you only care about maxed out gauges, nothing else basically the very most of them need to be in the red
  22. did he get hit in the head rly hard or something? seems he forgot how to craft a bear bedroll, bear jacket, moose jacket, moose satchel, and so on... did that happen on purpose? i hunted both elchs on west side just to find out that i can't craft neither of the elch things... yes at least one is to be found but still...
  23. yes, in free/surv mode its easy to keep them at bay yet when playing wintermute your stock is kinda limited yes at least i have... pretty impossible if like in ep4 theres 1 road you have to pass several times, and when its in a very narrow valley and everytime you have to pass a 4-5 pack spawns it gets pretty hard to "conceal" yourself especially considering they only respect marine flares... to you developers its just annoying every 4 min a 4-5 wofl pack spawns/waits for me... go to power plant- 4 packs, go to mine 5 packs (yes - road to bridge, bridge, farm/trailer, etc.) thats just boring & bad design edit: dont misunderstand... love the game, playing it since '18, but i never had a dozend carrcasses rotting beside the road while i got attacked by a 5 wolf pack prob. could craft 2 wolf jackets with only wolves i killed til d3
