  1. That would keep you warm for sure, and anyone you meet would be pretty intimidated. Man, now I want this so much also.
  2. Thanks for the update! Now I'm really excited to play episode 3. Scared for those wolves though.
  3. Just curious, what is the most water you have ever made in one place? I am going for the 3 day fire achievement and making water basically the whole time, already have about 100 liters in the Valley Cave in HRV.
  4. A fairly simple idea, just allow for more meat to be harvested off a carcass as you level up. Level 5 could yield 50% more meat vs Level 1. To me, it makes sense that you would be able to make better use of a carcass as you practice.
  5. A few days later, I went back into one of the ice caves just to spend the night and repair some clothes after a recent wolf struggle. I am repairing my 40% toque, when suddenly, I hear a very familiar growl and snarl behind me. Luckily, as always, I had my trusty flare gun on me, so I spun 180 degrees and shot into the dark, illuminating a wolf running away into the bowels of the cave. This made me feel so good, so I began to eat and drink, thinking I hit the wolf and that it would bleed out in that horrible cave. Of course, it came back. I had a bit more time before it pounced, so I pulled the revolver and shot. It didn't hit the wolf and I ended up in another struggle. To top it off, this was my 100th day. So instead of going out and enjoying the clear evening and looking at waterfalls to celebrate, I had to recover from 30% condition. These darn wolves really never know when to quit. I am still really enjoying this zone though, its so wild and unforgiving.
  6. I think the game was never really designed to be infinite. Everything is just about avoiding a certain end: death. Death will happen at some point, some of us are just better at lasting longer.
  7. Thanks for the replies everyone! I'm going to look around on the Internet some more to see what I can find. If I get the time, I might still consider building a PC.
  8. I have to admit that I am still a new player, and the whole idea came to me while I was exploring HRV and having problems with finding shelter. Now that I think about it, I really would never use a snow shelter in any other zone because I already know them well enough to always give myself enough time to find shelter. It would be a bit too easy to be able to get an easy shelter whenever I want.
  9. I would like to see the option make a snow shelter without the cloth. It would obviosuly give a smaller warmth bonus than the one with the cloth. Once the cloth-less one was made, there could be an option to "reinforce" the existing shelter with the 5 cloth to give the full bonus. This would make snow shelters a renewable resouce and one that people could use in difficulties where cloth becomes a rare resource.
  10. So after 95 days in my first Voyager run, i was feeling like I was getting a grip on things. All regions mostly looted and explored, all without any major scares like bear attacks or getting lost in a blizzard. I decided to go and explore Hushed River Valley, because I knew it was rugged and remote, which was what I really enjoyed in Timberwolf Mountain. I stated out from the transition cave in the early morning and enjoyed a lovely first impression due to perfect weather. I happily made my way down to the Stepstairs Lake and Cloudtop Falls, and then going along the creek with all the small waterfalls. By this time I already decided that this is my new favorite zone. Shortly afterwards, I was strolling near some fallen logs when I heard some nice snorting coming from behind the next rise. I knew this was a bear, so I turned around and sprinted away. In my mad dash, I got a bit disoriented, so I decided to aimless start wandering around. Eventually, I got to the creek where you have to cross the fallen tree to the ice cave. Here began the interesting part. I entered the ice cave, not realizing that it was a full cave system and not just a cave like the one by the Misty Falls in Pleasant Valley. Within two intersections I was completely lost. I wandered around, thinking I had to find the exit eventually, when I discovered the small chamber with the corpse and rope. I couldn't climb at the time due to a sprain and being overweight, so I turned around. Continuing my wandering, I came across the other exit out of the cave, and I thought I was free. Unfortunately, I appeared in a completely different part of the map. I decided that I didn't want to start exploring another part of the map so I could fully understand the whole region, so I plunged back into the mess. After finding this exit another 3 times, I finally stumbled across the exit in which I entered the cave. I spent a grand total of about 5 game hours in the cave. So this is how my first day in Hushed River Valley ended. After this trauma, I don't think I'm ever going into those caves again except to spend a night by the entrance. Yeah I know, not really a serious survival story, but I still love how this game can absolutely terrify me even almost 100 days into a good run on Voyager. I can't wait to see what else this region has to offer.
  11. Hello everyone, I currently am using a Dell Inspiron 15 3537 laptop, with which I have to use minimum settings with this game. I am interested in buying a new laptop to get better quality in TLD, and gaming in general. To be honest, I am pretty clueless about gaming laptops and computers. Can someone put me in a good direction for buying a gaming laptop, preferably under about $1200. I know everyone is going to tell me to build a PC, but I still enjoy being able to lie down on the couch to play games and the mobility of a laptop in general. Thanks.
  12. This is mostly for the sake of convenience but it would be nice to have more cooking slots on campfires. Also would create a larger incentive to make campfires rather than cook indoors to avoid cabin fever, as they would have more slots than most indoor stoves.
  13. The ravine bridge was fine for me in both directions, but the one to Milton got me (going from ML). I ended up taking small damage from jumping. This was in the same game only a few days from each other (RL).
  14. Binoculars/telescope could spawn in the watchtowers or the lighthouse but they would have to stay there. Scope would be nice so you wouldn't have to get so close to those darn wolves 😊
  15. I would make different footwear have different degrees of preventing sprains. Running shoes wouldn't do anything, but the trail boots should help you carry all of your sticks around 😊.
  16. I guess it would be kind of cool but I don't like the randomness in it. For me it would become very frustrating after a few times.
  17. I found the revolver today in DP stone church after going through all of ML and CH. This was on Voyager. I finally can use the 70 something revolver bullets I have.
