  1. Question. Say you bring minor mods (ie. ambient lights, placing anywhere, time accelerator) that affect pretty much nothing but visually and such in an on-going run. You play that run. Then you decide to remove those mods for various reasons. Would it corrupt your save file or?
  2. You are unable to kill convicts, even though you can actually shoot at them. < link
  3. I opened fire at a convict (yes, you can do that if that guard is outside the main doors near fire barrel, waiting to confiscate you) and guess what? All my shots were not registered.
  4. This is the second topic from the first topic but the admin has not read my message to unlock it (I'm unable to edit the main post) sadly so I am making a new similar thread. I hope this is ok! Background: Since TLD's release to EARLY ACCESS, the development team also released an ASPIRATIONAL roadmap (it's like a roadmap with zero promises to deliver anything from it). Around (May) 2017, the community started to accuse the team of not delivering their "promises" (they were not promises at all) from the roadmap, prompting the team to remove the roadmap entirely as it gave false impressions. Regardless, I managed to scavenge the roadmap or whatever left of it. It is evident that the team managed to implement most of it since its removal which is impressive! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Moose - IMPLEMENTED as of Dec 2017. Cougar - MOST LIKELY IN THE WORKS. Has been talked several times and hinted by Raphael on twitter right before and after Moose release. Improved Cooking; more of the cooking action happens in-game (vs. in menus); cooking happens in game-time (i.e. not accelerated time), so you can multi-task. - IMPLEMENTED as of June 2018. Frostbite affliction - IMPLEMENTED as of Dec 2016. Axe (tool) - UKNOWN. No information since ever, likely DENIED. Wellbeing system (i.e. mental/emotional cost of survival; “willpower locket” fits in here) - DENIED. Aurora gameplay effects & hazards - IMPLEMENTED as of Aug 2017. Widespread narrative collectibles - IMPLEMENTED as of Aug 2017. Backer naming and writing rewards integrated into game world - IMPLEMENTED as of Aug 2017. Primitive firemaking skill (ex. bow-drill) - UNKNOWN BUT A SKILL OF BOW HAS BEEN IMPLEMENTED. Improved first-person presence (low-hanging fruit) - IMPLEMENTED on an unknown date. Improved Sprains - IMPLEMENTED as of May 2019. Improved Infections - IMPLEMENTED on an unknown date. New Clothing system & all new Clothing assets - IMPLEMENTED as of Dec 2016. NPCs in the Sandbox - MOST LIKELY IN THE WORKS. Has been talked several times on Raphael's twitter and there was a hint to raidings by raids. Most likely a gameplay option prior starting a new save file. Parley system - UNKNOWN. Improved firemaking (blowing mechanic; first-person presence) - UNKNOWN. Revolver - IMPLEMENTED as of May 2019. Non-map based Navigation system - IMPLEMENTED as of June 2017. Knowledge system - IMPLEMENTED as of Aug 2017 ONLY for STORY MODE. UNKNOWN if it will go to SURVIVAL MODE. Improved first-person presence (more complex interactions) - UNKNOWN. Snowshoes or Nordic skis? - UNKNOWN, presumably DENIED. Do CRAMPONS (Dec 2020) count? Steam Trading Cards - IMPLEMENTED as of Aug 2017. Mod support - IN THE WORKS, MIGHT TAKE A GOOD WHILE. Spring Sandbox - DENIED. This is due to the fact it will need a complete game overhaul which is more like creating a SEQUEL (TLD 2) rather than an update. Moving water - IMPLEMENTED as of June 2018. HUSHED RIVER VALLEY. Full-season survival Sandbox (transitioning from season to season) - DENIED. SAME FOR SPRING SANDBOX. New travel options (Canoe, Horse) - UNKNOWN. I think it has been discussed on Raphael's Twitter but nothing came out of it. Seamless world streaming - UNKNOWN Long-distance travel - UNKNOWN ------------------------------------------------------------------- Most of these stuff have been implemented post-EA launch. Some are denied and many are, currently, unknown whether they will be implemented or not.
  5. Title! Hinterland so far wiped Survival saves about 2-3 times since EA to launch day after implementing major gameplay changes/features. So, I was wondering if they will have to wipe the survival saves again before implementing a future major gameplay feature? Thoughts? Are you worried about losing your long-term saves to future wipes?
  6. I hope there will be Survival mode updates after Episode 4. Even more so I hope that region goes to survival mode as well. I'm bit concerned with the overall "after Episode 4, we go Episode 5" without mentioning survival mode updates before Episode 5. EDIT: Personally, I believe Survival mode is not "technically completed". Mountain Lions / Cougars are missing. The wildlife's variety is very minimal, the AI is pretty basic, there are no NPCs, the variety on food items is also low, the gameplay mechanics are okay-ish and so on. This is not meant to harshly criticize the devs, they did awesome job! But, I find it, in my opinion, bit concerning you call it complete when it probably isn't too complete. I filled the survey. I hope the survival mode will be expanded beyond (and before) Episode 5 release!
  7. As mentioned before, this region is not worth it to stay. Just like hushed river valley, it's pretty much explore, loot, leave and forget its existence.
  8. Much like the hushed river valley (and maybe bleak inlet), this region is mainly for exploration, grab whatever loot it has and leave. It's not meant to set up base or whatever. This is good and bad. Good because it's new region to visit, get loot, etc. Bad because it's one-time experience. As in, there's no reason to come back to this region, ever.
  9. So I have noticed a few things. Do you see this "ferry" (idk the name of it) something where you can move from places to places? Look at it. It's connected to some long lines. Ok, go check the MAIN picture (the one Raphael posted) and watch top right corner between the mountains, you can see two dark lines. This most likely indicates that you can use this ferry to move between those HUGE mountains! Imagine that... I wonder how it will work and how breathtaking this could be. And finally, Compare the Raphael's picture versus this one. Watch the mountains. They are HUGE in both pictures. Therefore, this prison (fences, towers, surely it's a prison, maybe the Blackrock ones where the bus we find at Mountain Town?) is likely located in Ash Canyon. If not, then it's on the very next region, Preservance Mills something. Can't wait regardless.
  10. Dude, it would be actually cool to have furry companions in-game. In fact, I kept asking for wolfdog/dogs as companions in-game, the community have been asking for it since ages. "For what it's worth, I think a wolf buddy would be an awesome addition to the game!" That's actually awesome but I doubt a developer said it, unfortunately. Most likely a Social Media member. Regardless, it would be pretty cool to have companions in-game, albeit they should be ultra rare to find (Perhaps 1-2 each game, regardless of region) to as to prevent ruining the whole loneliness, etc. This could also encourage the players to take care of their furry more. Fingers crossed if they actually make it a thing.
  11. Deaf players: Are we a joke to you? (I'm deaf btw) Good update but maybe I wish you should have considered deaf players about this but it's fine. That is unless you put the cries, footsteps, etc in Closed Captions.
  12. I don't mind provided the videos will have either closed captions or Youtube subtitles atleast for deaf / hard hearing players.
  13. I was surprised they added "Closed Captions" in The Long Dark so I decided to turn it on and see how it works. I only played Survival Mode. I was surprised how the devs decided to implement such totally useless system. The only thing I get is: "Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing, High breathing, High breathing, Pain Grunts, High breathing, Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing, Moderate breathing" and so on. That's it. No "Wolf howles", "Wolf barks", "Bear roars", "Gunshot", "Hurried footsteps", "Wolf yelp" and so on. If devs are reading this then let me say that I'm disappointed you implemented a useless feature. I mean, c'mon, only 3 texts? Moderate breathing, High breathing, Pain grunts? That's not closed captions. Besides, those texts serve no purpose lmao. It's not like your high breathing will attract nearby predators. Plus, I keep getting spammed with "Moderate breathing" every single three second.
  14. We all know Raphael relocated Fluffy (again?) from Dam to undisclosed location (likely Ice Caves?) to the new region, IF she's there. The game is simple. Find for her and note it down here in spoilers. Pretty curious where she is now!
  15. Oh, come on! I thought we agreed that Fluffy resides in the River Valley caves! :c
  16. Yay! Also, check pepper caches. Who knows if they will have ammo.
  17. After about 8 in-game days of searching revolver and stuff, the outcome: 2 Revolvers 123 revolver ammo 2 revolver books About 8 go drinks. So yeah. Hell, two books will almost bring you to skill level 3. That's more than enough.
  18. I was running uphill and then a rabbit out of nowhere jumped front of me. I thought it was a wolf..
