Awesome update so far, Revolver does a great addition! 1. Since you was a developer for the Company of Heroes, could you tell us what is your opinion on Company of Heroes 2, if there is any? Many fans from CoH criticized CoH 2 for being quite different, uninteresting, etc. 2. At some point you said: "game's current performance is preventing us from doing a lot of things we'd like to do, including: graphics improvements, AI improvements, more animations, environment detail, post FX, Switch port, world streaming, etc." and "The Long Dark is pushing a lot of the engine's capabilities due to the size of our game, essentially." Does it mean that there might be a scenario where you will no longer be able to add more content on TLD due to the game reaching engine's limit? 3. The more you release content updates for Survival mode the more I am thinking about how awesome companions would be with you. Namely, dogs. Will they ever be a thing? I can imagine the huge technical difficulties but.. Hey, they would be awesome for short to medium term survivals. Maybe players will feel very emotional once after 300-days survival their one and only companion dies trying to protect the owner from the wildlife attacks or old age. 4. Finally, have you guys used any mocap for the wolves? They look so real. If not, are you considered to begin mocapping a dog into wolf for quicker animation work, etc? Thanks so much! Thanks Raph, your comment contradicted someone's statement the fact that HL is allegedly "hostile" to mods. I truly appreciate it.

It has been mentioned several times during the Story Mode where Astrid escaped to. It would be great to see it as next region. I foresee it to be connected between Mountain and Mystery.

I just found a revolver firearm book in a car by the Gas Station of CH. Few rounds and a revolver box in some houses. So yeah, just start searching every interior of all regions again! You might find rounds, revolver and ammo boxes!

Same. Just found the exact book inside a car by the Quonset Gas Station (existing save file).

Which house/region? Might relocate there.

Don't forget that I don't use mods but an admin member of the TLD wikia uses a program to extract high quality pictures from the game. Check the wikia, check pages and you will understand. This program doesnt seem to work now. I doubt HLG will give us a tool allowing us to resume the work nor give us the high quality pics cos that would be time consuming for them.

Calm down! You can actually explore every region again if you want to find the revolver and the ammo. However, you will not find them in looted containers. I am on 102 day survival and I purposely avoided 4 regions (Forlorn, Broken, Hushed and Mountain) just for the update sake. So far, I found like 55 revolver ammo (most in broken and mountain) but no revolver book at all. I did manage to find the revolver though, in Lower Dam on a table. The dam was already looted fully several days ago but the revolver did spawn there as normally. Remember, the spawning locations are randomized like rifles. I can assure you that you did not waste your time or whatever. HOWEVER, mastering the revolver might be difficult. EDIT: What zones/regions you did not visit at all / not looted at all?

But don't you think that there is a program that is detrimental to TLD wikia? If you visit there, you will see ton of pics produced by a program which took a lot pics from there and put there (PNG pics, icons, etc). This "ban" to mods will eliminate any form of quality work being done to TLD wikia and that is a bad image. Besides, I do remember you guys appreciated our work on wikia but now restrict/limit our work even further by disablind mods/programs.. That's awful. If mods create more work for the team, sure. Just release a mod/program that allow us to get pictures from the game itself. Orthewise, let me know if I can contact you privately for pictures we want to extract from the game so that we can use them for TLD wikia for quality sake. Thanks.

Yeah, a wikia whose Raphael liked our work. Making screenshots are shit quality and has background. This is why we use PNG icons as they are ready made icons with no background.

My main concern is, the update killed a helpful program that was used solely for the TLD wikia. I dont think thats considered as cheat tool if it is used for wikia, is it?

Idk why but this sounds too fascist move for a game dev company, let alone Canadian ones. I hope you will be proved wrong, idk why discussing a mod will now get you straight up banned in modern gaming industry world.

There was no justified reason to disable mods entirely. Hell, Hinterland has failed to deliver mods since... 1.0 launch? That's too long overdue.

The big problem is, there is a program that is used to collect PNG pics from the TLD code and they are used on TLD wikia. For example: https://thelongdark.fandom.com/wiki/Hunting_rifle https://thelongdark.fandom.com/wiki/Wolf And ton of more. That program apparently doesn't work anymore since this update. If Hinterland is taking way too damn long to implement even the very basic mods, why should they flip off unofficial mods as temporary workout? Makes no sense, tbh.

I can't find the revolver in 3 regions, only ammo. Is it a bug?

You are crazy lol. ❤️ As for me, I camped at Mystery Lake's Trapper's area, waiting to go Mountain Town once I isntalled the update. For this sandbox, I never visited Forlorn, Broken, Mountain and Hushed cos I wanted the revolver and its ammo to spawn there, hopefully.

I intentionally did not visit 4 regions cos I wanted the ammo and revolver to spawn in either regions. Now, I visited Mountain Town, planning to visit forlorn, broken and hushed afterwards. Never visited mountain, broken and hushed. My reaction when I found Go! Drink: "Nice! Awesome but I won't use it for obvious reasons." My reaction when I found a revolver ammunation box consisting 12 rounds (instead of 5 from rifle) which essentially means 2 magazines. "OMFG, OMFG. Time to find that revolver! YES!" I then approached a car completely blind and deaf (I am deaf irl actually) and then I spotted the wolf 5m front of me. But hold on. That's not the creepy part. The most creepy part is the fudging animation! I mean, I always took them less threatening animals because their animations were... eh.. But, guys.. The animation does make them look more real and threatening. I got jumpscared and got into the car. I have yet to find the revolver. How about you, guys? PS. Best sandbox update to far, behind Rugged Sentinel.
