I suppose it adds to the rivalry theory . I do wonder how she got in there though.🤔🙂 She was moved because the Blackrock convicts decided that she took up too much space in the dam. Plus, the smell was unbearable, so they moved her to somewhere that smelled bad to begin with. Edited August 1, 2022 by conanjaguar

ManicManiac
Early the next morning, I decided it was time to head inside the workshop. I took my shot... but I guess it didn't quite hit the mark. Unfortunately, I had to wait in there for her to finally lay down. Sadly, it took an hour or two... but eventually the workshop was now safe for me to use. With this last step completed. I can say I've accomplished what I set out to do here in Bleak Inlet. I took the rest of the day to get my gunsmithing supplies dropped off and sorted. Now it's time for me to start getting ready for the trek to Keeper's Pass... and then onward to Blackrock.

Well, not as much as one might think. I've been careful, trying to use a few as possible. So far on this run (and all of them here in Bleak Inlet), I've taken down 15 wolves... and only used 15 shots to get it done. And that one struggle was from that learning curve error on day one. Not a bad record so far... kind of proud of it.

Using revolver to train your dog is somewhat excessive. 😁
ManicManiac
Managed to get back to the Cannery Breakroom without issue, got my pack sorted, spent one last evening at Bleak Inlet, and will be heading out on a hard push for Keeper's Pass in the morning. Not sure which route will lead me through both North & South... I suppose I'd start by peeking in from Pleasant Valley via the Long Curve. I guess I'll find out either way... I'll be mapping both transition zones along with Blackrock regardless, and as thoroughly as is practical. I don't plan on doing to much risky goating (I've run into too many invisible kill-walls that way). Edited August 4, 2022 by ManicManiac

Good luck.
ManicManiac
@Leeanda Thank you, I thought that was the route I'd want, but for the life of me I couldn't exactly remember. 🤭 There the two area I've had almost no exposure to... still haven't even finished episode 4 yet. Only got as far as looking for medicine at the infirmary before my attention hopped tracks to my personal challenge runs again. 🤭

I've spent a while in blackrock and still don't know half of it. It's hard to stop a run though even if something new turns up.
conanjaguar
@ManicManiac Surely you know by now that if you enter Pleasant Valley, the blizzards will follow you around for the remainder of the run...
ManicManiac
Sometime, about mid-morning, I set out to get back to Forlorn Muskeg. I quickly spotted my lone surviving Cannery Timber Wolf... but I let him run off to go on about its day. I decided to check under the bridge... Hmm... I could have sworn there used to be an overturned trailer down here. I looked around allover but... no trailer. 🤔 I continued on to the Washed-Out Trailers, and I was going to cross over and follow the ridge line... Hmm... nope, not today. I guess I was going to have to continue making my way across the Frozen Deltas. Found another unfortunate soul along the way. I decided to stop off at the closest nearby cave and leave behind the axe. If I really feel I need one, I can pick one up anywhere along the way to Keeper's Pass. As I continued on, I spotted a large pack of timber wolves prowling near the hunter's blind. I wasn't going to mess with that, so I continued on along the ridge line keeping as far up on the high ground that I could. I quickly found my way to the next cave entrance leading to Forlorn Muskeg, but before leaving I took another look back out over the Frozen Deltas. Met up with this familiar fellow and continued onwards. Stepping out of the cave, I already spotted some potential trouble. I kept low and made my way out to the ice. The was night was quickly approaching... and I had a decision to make. Do I try for the Poacher's Camp, or do I try to skirt the shore and try for Mystery Lake? I made up my mind quickly. If this was going to be a hard push... then I had better make as much progress as I could; rather than make what I might consider an unnecessary stop. I figured I should be able to make it to the Camp Office before it got too late. As started working my way that direction... Hmm, I didn't know there was a little bit of loot laying out by that rock. Dogfood... and wolves off in the distance... yep, that checks out. 🤭 Oh no... this might have been a bad decision. I was going to have to evade and avoid aurora charged wolves. Made it through, and on my way to Mystery Lake. Once I'd gotten through the tunnel... the aurora stopped rather abruptly, and a bewildering fog quickly started rolling in. 😵 I had to keep a sharp eye... the wolves may not be aurora charged, but they were still going to be milling around in aurora numbers. It didn't take but a few meters before I'd spotted at least two skulking along the track. Made it at long last... it took nearly all night to sneak through the Muskeg and along the tracks to the Camp Office, but I made it. Time for some much needed rest. Leeanda
Sounds like a long trek. Where's that corpse with the axe? Apart from the cannery and the hill next to it I've never found any other corpses in bleak. Even the one in the exit cave has been absent for quite a while? Nice pics🙂

ManicManiac
The trek from the Camp Office to Thompson's Crossing Community Hall was peaceful and rather uneventful. (After Bleak Inlet, it was a welcome change of pace ) Stepping out into Pleasant Valley, I braced for the worst. Much to my surprise, Pleasant Valley was being... pleasant! Down by the bridge... I decided to just sit a while and wait for moonrise before continuing on to seek shelter for the night. Weather quickly decided to take a turn... but I suppose that's to be expected. I got myself situated and bedded down the for the night. Tomorrow, I'll make my way down the road to Keeper's Pass.

ManicManiac
[Finally did manage to get to get back and get a small session in. 🤭] I took advantage of some good weather to get from the Community Hall to small barn on the roadside by the Pleasant Valley Farmstead. As I got farther along, the weather took a turn for the worse... I pressed on to the Farmstead's small barn and decided I would hole-up there for the rest of the day. The next morning, the weather was chilly... but seemed reasonably clear. I moved on down the road, but again the weather took a turn for the worse and looked as though it might be threatening another blizzard. I opted to head back to the small barn to spend another night here in Pleasant Valley. I did decide to take a quick look over at the Farmstead House, just to see if I could maybe find a little more water or food. As I got close... indeed another blizzard struck. This wasn't ideal since it was so early in the day. I managed to pick up another cooking pot, one liter of water found in the fridge, and a bottle of Maple Syrup found on the counter. I then went back to the small barn to weather the rest of the storm. I'd almost forgotten how eerie it is to wander through Great Bear Island while not being able to hear the world around me... but as long as I keep a sharp eye and stay cautious; still very survivable. 🤭 Since I won't be able to hear the storm pass... I suppose I'll be poking my head out every so often for the rest of the day. Even so, I'll likely spend the night again. The last think I want is to get to get to Keeper's Pass with bad weather right on my heels. I don't know the area yet, and I'd like to scout some decent shelter options before having to hunker down. If that means another day in Pleasant Valley... then I suppose it's worth it.
