  1. Okay, I got a dam question. (Lol pun) I can understand the water level on the winding river side, but why is there such low water level on the mystery lake side? Shouldn't the water level be up to like the dam entrance?(another pun lol) Sorry for my punniness this evening. I am on a roll!
  2. Agreed on the last part!! Unfortunately the equality mentality is riding high and many are afraid to acknowledge that men and women are different. We have our strong points and our weaknesses; and so do women. For example, I can lift more weight, but whine a whole lot more and sooner when getting hungry.
  3. That's silly!! You know women are more enduring!!
  4. Lol, this is more like a military outpost! You can hold off a small invasion!
  5. Agreed about rifle placement. And bow too! Much too often it is easier to drop those items vs trying to place them correctly. Drives me bonkers!!
  6. I like the choice of tools for the repair. A hammer and a pry bar!
  7. Really getting those sam fisher vibes. Stealth approach --- [ENABLED]
  8. But that's not what happened. Wintermute is going over this detail quite well, especially once you get to episode 4 and 5, that's when the world will come to life as perseverance mills should be full of people! Sure, first episode is a little thin on population, but once you get to part two, Will finds radio contact when they fix the radio. Same goes for episode three, where you get about a dozen survivors in community hall. Also, don't forget about molly and her pets. She's thinning their population. I have a feeling last two episodes will have that covered.
  9. I have tracked down quite a few animals as well. They do run very far away, quite often, halfway through the map. I remember not very long ago, I was in ravine and there was a deer hanging out on one rock platform and there is no place to climb for the player. Not sure if the deer climbed there, or more likely just spawned there. Animals do have the ability in this game to run up steeper hills and get into spots where you can't. @Mentatt76, how far into the game are you on your current run? If you started from scratch, bow skill will be low until you build it back up again and most hits will not do a lot of damage, hence leaving the prey strong enough to run very far away. If they run long enough, they will 'outrun' their trail and if you can't keep up, trail will begin to disappear. Pretty sure you've played much longer than I have though, so you have further point of reference to compare vs me.
  10. Since OP is getting ready for TWM trip, I'm guessing they do t have crampons. Quick note: it is much easier to traverse FM with crampons on because you have longer time before ice breaks. One can easily take relatively straight shot from poachers train car to the forge at Spencer's. Another very radical approach. Don't go the most direct and fastest routes, enjoy the adventure while it is all still new. Once you've been to all regions, the novelty wears off and you wander around, mostly aimless, wondering what to do next. Take your time and enjoy the exploration.
  11. Resolution. His soul is free now. No more will he have to fight to survive. His body will go the way of the earth, give back what he once took. The wolves will feast on his flesh during the eerie glow of aurora, but he will not feel the pain. No more sorrow, for his heart has struck one last beat. The drums in his chest have faded away. The long dark has set free yet another weary traveler.
  12. Thank you, I do that to Astrid often!😊we're a good team.
  13. @stratvox, What a view!! Clear as oh I don't know..super clear! Perfect weather to go kill some unsuspecting wolf. @piddy3825, that rabbit looks pretty beeg! Must be 6 pounds worth of meat alone! Yum!
  14. 😂This kind of stuff only happens in the movies...or inside the creative minds of the long dark survivors!
  15. I'd rather see NPCs that I can stealth past or kill in their sleep and steal their stuff than some bambi to take care of. This is survival, not a national geographic expedition. Looking back now, this game has changed me for the worst, for I have become a blood thirsty bandit.
  16. Thank you, this makes traversing through life much easier for me! I have cabin fever disabled. If you get mauled by a bear, stuff in the bag will get damaged. Lamp will suffer, also will magnifying lens. Ever notice how stuff is all scattered all around you when the bear is finished making you pregnant?
  17. ROFL 😂😂🤣🤣🤣
  18. You turn around and run for the ledge where you can jump off, so he can't follow lol. You don't want to be in such situation. Wait, I dont think they zig zag. Wolves do, but not a bear, because I remember shooting him with rifle as he was ru ning toward me. Usually takes me 4 shots. I did one shot him with an arrow. "Death-stinky-potion" tipped. Very deadly.(when expired)
  19. Are they usually on the ocean floor? Please educate!
