  1. Going to get me that Deep forest achievement. Not too many wind resistant places in coastal highway tho.
  2. Got it! Forgot how nice it actually looks. All of the decals are just improvised except the TLD axe logo. The others in my opinion don't really fit well. But the backround is pretty cool and it wasn't actually even completely intentional. It looks kind of like a TLD gui. I think it would have looked perfect if it had only one big logo in the center.
  3. It was like a woodworking course. I first painted a white splash in the middle, and the I cut out a hinterland logo out of contact plastic. Not sure if thats the term. Anyways, then I just painted over it with black paint and finished everything else off with this grayish varnish. It was certainly fun to make and the final product looks good. (I just checked. Contact plastic is the right term.) Sick! Oh! I just remembered another thing that I made in a TLD fashion. It was quite a long time ago. 3 years or so. It was a sausage shaped neck cushion. The look of it really captures TLD's style. Imma get it right now.
  4. I also made this hinterland tray at that time (which was like a year ago). Also, when is the merchandise store gonna open I wonder. Or maybe rather, when is this damn pandemic gonna end. I was damn lucky to find this cup tho. Not exactly The Long Dark, but it'll do for now. Anyways, cheers Hinterland
  5. Here's a painting I made as a school project. Didn't really find specific thread for just art, so I thought this would be a fitting Place.
  6. These ideas are great! I've thought of, or wished for something like a two handed axe before, but didn't think it was viable. I think you have made it viable for gameplay, aswell as the other tools.
  7. Back at coastal highway to get some bullet shells. Shame some of the condensed milk has gone bad
  8. Took a moose down in two hits. man, I should be going to timberwolf and ash canyon, but guess i'll just sit home eating this meat. (40 kilos is alot)
  9. I'm a fan of this idea. There aren't that many average household items to be found and used, so this would expand that category.
  10. I totally agree. I think The difficulty gap between stalker and interloper is too big. I often find myself overflown with loot in stalker, and in interloper there are no tools or weapons to be found. And in customs If i put loot spawning to very low and put weapons spawns on, there are still no tools. So it would be cool If Prowler would have scarse loot and tools and weapons would be very rare, but that will make finding them all the more rewarding.
  11. There have been many great ideas here, like ruining pelts and needing a sling be abled to carry it. I think the shotgun would just be an alternative for the rifle, with the addition of weapon variants in the dlc. If the shotgun kicks like a mule, like it has been stated before, it would be hard to use by an inexperienced shooter. So the Shotgun would be used effectively only when you are at a certain skill level. There probably shouldn't be a seperate skill for the shotgun as shooting it would very similiar to the rifle, so they would use the same skill. Altough if the shotguns purpose is to make avoiding bears and moose easier for beginners, maybe thats not so good of an idea. Maybe like have it a bare minimum of one rifle skill level. If used at insufficient skill level, maybe something will happend for example: pain, a bruise or a sprain, or maybe the shotgun will be dropped on the ground and perhaps get damaged. it would also give more purpose to the workshops at Bleak inlet and blackrock. I believe shotgun shells are the easiest ammo to make and reuse if i'm not totally wrong. Also the slings are a great idea in my opinion. They could be found or improvised, as I think the crafting system or rather just the amount of craftable items is a little lacking. Good spawning locations would for example be watchtowers or blackrock. Perhaps the rifle or shotgun would be equipped a lot slower without a sling, maybe making the revolver more balanced at the same time. I'm guessing without a sling the rifle is strapped to the players bag maybe, so with a sling, running would be slightly limited as you now have a rifle flinging around, but that's a little far fetched. A scabbard on the other hand removes this downside while being a heavier and a little slower to equip your weapon with. I don't know if they can be attached to your gun or equipped on your special clothing slot. Either way, they could have a condition that decreases overtime or if you take a hit like clothing does. When the sling is ruined, it will snap and the rifle may be dropped to the ground. I'm guessing a ruined sling can be repaired as it is as simple as sewing the detached point together, and maybe add some leather to that to balance things out. Either way, it is very likely that the devs won't not add a shotgun to the game. But I beleave that it could totally be balanced out to be viable to the gameplay, especially with all of the great ideas that have been made in this topic combined.
  12. With the added feature in of tool variety, i thought that the revolver could do some rehauling. What I thought about is not only a revolver with a unique mechanic, but also balancing the base revolver. The normal revolver has a double action system, which means that a single trigger pull cycles the cylinder and pulls back the hammer. Or something along those lines, but anyways that could come into play if firing the revolver was slightly delayed. The time would be reduced with handgun skill. This makes it so that you have to time your shots. But thats kind of far fetched. Now a single action variant would totally fit in great bear and the premis of The long dark. In a single action revolver the hammer needs to be pulled back manually, kind of like the bolt action rifle. That single shot it fires would be instant like the revolver is currently. I think they balance each other perfectly. The single action is quicker at putting out a single bullet, while the standard double action achieves an overall faster rate of fire. If there is already something like this added in the dlc, then I have definetly succeeded at keeping away spoilers. Edit: Tldr Single action: if you miss, you're probably screved double action: if you miss because of bad timing, you get a second chance.
  13. Check this out, The Carrignton event that was recorded in 1859 has literally the events that take place in The Long Dark. Here are some quotes: "the largest recorded solar storm ever recorded. It was linked with extraordinary auroras," "years long power outages," "Sparks flew from telegraph machines in Paris," "a superabundance of electricity in the air enabled telegraph machines to send messages from New York to Pittsburgh without the aid of batteries". And the other events that are going on in real life are quite familiar to the ones in Tld. You know... Covid-19. In the long dark theres some mystery illness. Plus the weather, Today in the morning there was frosty outside where I live. Quite early this year ain't it. It's only going to get colder from here. (I'm not being serious, im just goofing around with this article I found... but it do be quite strange how all the pieces fit together)
  14. PZ is in my opinion the most indeph and immersive survival games. I really don't like giving that top 1 score away from The long dark, but the gameplay mechanics are just better and in a bigger quantity (plus there are zombies so theres basically "more to do" or as i would rather call it more to worry about". Ofcourse the long dark is a first person 3d game and i'd guess thats a lot harder to develop. It would be a dream to have a game as immersive as PZ but with the absolutely beatiful style and feeling of the long dark. but god damn both of them are so good and so are their creators!
  15. All this would require some balancing. I had an idea that some of the devices would have already broken down and could not function. And a device could sometimes go kaput any time it's used, possibly exploding and causing burns on you if your too close. Overtime more would go down by themselves.
  16. Or perhaps an ol’ spyglass
  17. Yeah, i guess your right. I feel like i was just very mad and angry at such Simple death when i made this Post.
  18. I originally thougt that The headache would come at something like 30-40%, and the more serious effects would come at lower than 20%, in about one day without the percen changing much.
  19. Your body needs water, everyone knows that. And If you don't, the effects may be rathet serious and might last long. One of The first signs of dehydration is headache. This effect is already in the game, so it would Be pretty easy to make. So once you get thirsty enough, you get applied with headache that lasts until you drink something. But it doesnt dissapear instantly. It lasts a bit after you have been hydrated. The longer term effects could Be something like this: If you are too dehydrated for a long time, you get an effect that makes you weak and tired. It gets worse, the longer you are dehydrated, kinda like your Weight being reduces, the more tired you are. And it doesn't just go away by drinking water. You have to stay hydrated for a certain amount of Time, to recover from it. And the worse it has got the longer the recovery is. This ain't a very big or important change, but it's a small and realistic addition, that i would like to have, to make the game a bit harder.
  20. I was just enjoying my time on a stalker survival. i had already survived 26 days and was leaving the coastal highway, but i was extremely tired and had to take a sleep. And then a blizzard came during my relaxing sleep and i died. I would like to be able to wake up or cancel the sleep. And if its not possible to wake up controllably, then at least make it so that you wake up automatically, if your'e cold or you start taking lots of damage. Now i know you cant really notice anything while sleeping, but i'm pretty sure your'e going to wake up sooner or later, if your'e freezing to death, no matter how close to death you are. Please, this would be such a great thing. Thank you
  21. This is actually a pretty ggod idea and i could really imagine this being in The game. But at the same time i just don't think this change is really needed. Now i guess once its just tweaked a bit. There could be a new toolsmithing skill that is leveled up with books and making tools just like The other skills. The lower your skill is, the worse your crafted weapon is. Also the tools should have two conditions. For example the axe has conditions for the handle and the blade. The handle can't be repared, so you have to Make a new one and replace it. If the handle breaks, youre left with the axe blade. The blade is still repared with the sharpening stone. Both the parts can be found. You can craft the handle but not The blade. If you have both, they can be attached to each other. Nice tought tho lad!
