I came back to PV farmhouse after a few days trip to ML happy to know that I had a stash of raw meat waiting on the snow that I could cook up. But as I got there and saw the yellow tinge of the now rancid meat at 13% I couldn't bring myself to cook it up. Even 63% cooked would not look appetizing. In the old days I would have cooked even ruined meat because it all looked the same. I even couldn't stand to let it sit there in the snow rotting away so I picked it up and stashed it in the freezer until it disappeared at 0% Good job Hinterland! It changed my wasteful habits for the better!

If you are on Steam have you tried verifying game files? That often solves such issues.

Yeah I have stalker loot settings and it seems to be less for some things and more for others. I am finding pots everywhere! Not so many rifles or pistols, or bullets.

I need the Ambient Lights, Candles, Place Anywhere, BI bridge, and Remove Clutter. But I think I will wait for the next bug fix version of TLD first. I am not at the moment ready to set up my bases yet. Still nomad around and looting. I forgot what a pigsty some cabins are!

Both are premium and rare loot and deserve to be buffed over 2 wool toques by 1 degree. Wool toques are everywhere on stalker and below. Maybe the scarf has .5 more wind resistance since it wraps around your entire head and neck. And the balaclava has .5 more warmth for protecting your whole head and face. Make it happen Hinterland. You know the right thing to do is this. Don't worry about player complaints. You can just do it quietly in a hotfix. Only I will notice

I agree that going in without any map is the choice way to go. You can only ever experience the place once for the first time.

Ah well... I need to eat. End of the world and all that. Me first ultimately. I could just fish I suppose. Or eat cattails. But Deer are tasty. Wife gets over it and goes back to her farm game. It doesn't seem to affect our relationship as far as I can tell.

I feal like a monster. The doe is so cute and reminds me of camping when one would wander in to the campsite. If we had some lettuce or something it would gently eat from my hand then casually wander off to see if there was anything from the other campers. Now I see a doe and if my temp bar is ok I sneak up on it until it is facing me from real close then stand up and shoot it in the throat with my bow and arrow! The sound she makes. I haunts me! Auuuwwwaahhggggaahhhh. You killed me! You monster! Ggggwwwwgggghhhhhaaaaaggghhhh. It interrupts my wife's farm game and she turns to me and says "Did you just kill a doe? You're a monster!" I have a hard time sleeping.

Reminds me of Doug and Bob from the Great White North.

Dear Hinterland, I love you guys and the game experience that you've put your heart in to for the last 10 years. But someone has corrupted your thinking. Apostate reasoning has entered from somewhere. I wish you would repent of your erroneous decision to reduce the number of rifles. Searching for and finding a rifle in every region is the reason for existence. It is why I risk breaking every bone in my body to go check that slope that looks like it might have something up there. It's the reason I lose condition in the cold just to check one more spot before I have to run back to shelter. It is the reason I haul all my stuff back to Quonset and display the 20 rifles like a prized trophy. It is the reason why I yell out "BOOYAH!" and scare heck out of my wife when I find one. (Her response after punching my arm 3 times is to say "found a stupid rifle didn't you!" Punch.) Please, please, please, bring back the rifles and leave the revolvers to just a few. Although they are nice to find too but not so golden as the rifle. I know you will repent because you are good people.

I turned off T-wolves. Can't stand them. My play style is to deal with harsh weather and not with angry wildlife. Although I do take my stomping or mauling as payback if I shoot at a moose or bear and piss it off. I am dreading BI weather as I can barely move around ML until noon or after. In HRV now. Losing condition every day

I do wish HL would tone down the waterfalls and the house rattling. I am in HRV and about to head up to Monolith Lake and camp out in the cave behind the waterfall. I hope I don't go insane. Everything else is great though

I will just dump all mine in the Quonset along with all my hatchets, knives, can openers, prybars, etc. Why is looting so satisfying? I need more guns! Let me find more guns!!!

Yeah the new deer sounds scared the crap out of me at first. I seem to notice more bird chirping too. The FM ice now makes cracking sounds. Hinterland always keeps adding better and better of everything with each release but often it is very subtle. One of the things I really like is how an owl hoot in the evening while I am standing on the porch seems to come from behind over my shoulder in the distance. Excellent 3D audio effects from my 2 little laptop speakers. Well it is an awesome gaming laptop but still... Good on you Hinterland. You always deliver!

Spelunker's lasted approx. 6+ hours. I'm guessing about 6.5 hours ^^ This! It will be my new best friend as soon as I can remember where I left it. I found it early on in my new run but I can't remember where. Maybe Quonset because that is where I started.

And don't forget the cruel dev designed option of eating raw meat by mistake.

The same for breaking down sticks. I would like it to remember my last choice of hands only.

Whenever something new comes out there is massive criticism for some minor things that don't seem to meet expectations. But who loves what Hinterland has done? I do. Who has been here from the beginning? Me from episode 1. It wasn't very good but I switched to survival and loved it. Who loves every change that HL has done to make the game experience better every time? I hated the new cooking but now I love it. Who has thousands of hours of game play for pennies of enjoyment per hour? Me. And everyone else in survival. Give your comments in support of all the devs and support staff at Hinterland who have made this possible for us. They deserve your positive comments. It's like giving a starbucks gift card. Make them all feel good.

Some of us understand. some dont and never will. Keep doing what you do Raph and Katie. You have made an awesome work of art. I suppose even the complainers complain because they love the game otherwise they would just leave and we would not hear from them ever again.

Sito is a software developer that has to release major updates to clients who are never happy with the 99 new features but focus on the 1 that does not meet their expectations. From Hinterland... Sorry that I did not mention that I had to disable that function to make the other 99 work. I was too busy trying to get the release out that I failed to mention it. Some employee didn't add it to the release notes. He is fired! Is that what you want? Grow up Piddy. I respect you but this is not right.

Oh my dears. Why be worked up about missing bunkers? Run along to the new region. You will not be disappointed. Well, you will be cold. Very cold. Extremely cold! Probably you will die. But it's all good. The bunkers will come back in a hotfix that are coming very fast like the old days. Hinterland has changed gears and maybe causing FUD among users. Do you know what FUD is? Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt. It occurs when any change happens. Humans don't like change unless they are in control of it. Like going on vacation as opposed to a sudden interest rate hike. I am sure that HL is well aware of the FUD effect that only lasts a few days, so they don't spend much effort to accommodate it. I am not a fanboy but I have learned to trust HL that they have a desire to deliver the finest quality experience to their players. This is 4400+ hours talking.

I found Barb's rifle and the spelunkers lantern. I also found crampons in an unexpected location. I won't say where to any of it. I am also finding pots everywhere. Rifle spawns are in new and unusual locations. I like finding guns for some reason. And pots.

I'm at the airfield. Another freaking long way to finally get to the control tower. Some interesting spots on the way that I earmarked for exploration later. But damn is it COLD! I got double everything of the best clothes and I still lose condition. Now I am stuck in the control tower with a full on whole day blizzard raging. I tried going outside a few times to see if I could run to the hanger but I can't even see where it is. Good thing I carried a whole deer with me but it doesn't last forever and there is no other food here. I wish I was back in PV. It was positively pleasant there. I feel trapped. I know I'm gonna die here. I better jump back into the game and see what lasts longer. The blizzard or my food. They are coming, and there is no way out.
