  1. Hi, for the support portal not being reachable from certain countries, look at this post on the same topic: you can still reach it using a vpn. good luck on your exploration!
  2. Update: In the meantime, after having spent some more time in BRK I am feeling more comfortable there. Still not my favorite, but even revisited it multiple times: nice to have another milling machine/ammo forge in the northern part of the map as well. Bonus: after having spent quite some time there, other regions feel like "oh, these are just black wolves.. nothing to worry about" 😉 Around the 3rd/4th time when I revisited the prison, I've heard (and checked and saw through the fence) the bear in the last section - which was only a black wolf for me before. It does not appear to have been permanently replaced by a wolf... I'm suspecting that it was a wolf when i first went there, as I killed a bear or two not long before going there, and the game somehow tried to balance it - as opposed to the latest time, when I just sneaked in without much interaction with wildlife. But that is just a guess..., maybe it is total RND. Just wanted to mention, that the bear can still be there, so be careful when going for the warden's office...:)
  3. Yep. could not record it, sorry. I've been using the 3kg version of the rifle, it was a solo Ptarmigan (or the others I've scared away;-) in TWM, opposite the hut by the lake, on the small ridge (leading to the Engine) above the Oak Trees.
  4. I thought they are hiding in the snow on purpose. It would be in line with their other behavior, that they are actively hiding from you: looking for some grass or other thing and run behind, so that you do not see them. I found this a really lovely nuance implemented by HL. Also, I think they are "jumping up" above the snow when dying to help us find them - similarly as arrows sometimes are floating now above the carcass of larger game. I believe this was introduced as a response to the many complaints about irretrievable arrows in the earlier versions. Ptarmigans are my new favorite game in the game:) Ps.: @Leeanda: I've tried the big rifle at gunpoint, and they did die. Have not tried the revolver. usually use the bunny arrows, those are best.
  5. Maybe we could make vaccine from the spit of toxic wolves?
  6. Bird flu? from picking feathers/down, incurable, deadly?
  7. I'm not sure about IL, but on my Stalker I've also noticed that it became a lot more difficult to catch fish without the shinies. In my first attempt i fished for 3 hours without catching a thing, so gave up and made some lures/tipups. Later, i was more lucky, but still takes longer to catch something, than it was before the update, especially with an empty hook. Also, the tipups do not raise the fishing skill, so I still try to fish manually for that reason, to level it up and have better catch. Also, I found, that it is more likely to catch something, if I set it for more hours (, even if I cancel it earlier), than 1 hour sessions. So maybe it is just a combination of unlucky RND + the higher difficulty of IL. If it persists though, it is more certainly a bug...
  8. I can confirm what @hozz1235 mentioned. I've just found my third Tales bunker, it was quite a bit weird, as I was following the sign on the radio, it suddenly made the sound it makes when it picks up a signal, and stopped showing direction. It was still blue (or yellow, when I switched), but no showing of direction. It was getting closer to morning, so I thought maybe that was the reason, but it kept being blue for quite a while afterwards. (So I'm not sure if it was a bug) I just followed the same direction for a fair distance more, and found the suspicious looking hump on the snow. I could not open it/uncover it, as the radio turned off just before I reached it. I used a charcoal, it did show up with the familiar icon on the map, but I could not interact with it. Had to wait 4 days in a nearby cave for the next Aurora, to open. So I guess it has become fool-proofed in the meantime, you cannot by accident enter any of these bunkers.
  9. I agree. that is a great idea. I'm never making torches, as I do not want to waste cloth on such a thing (there is a lot, i know, but still). If instead of cloth we could use cattail heads, maybe even 2 of them for torch, I'd probably make a few, and spend some of the fish oil on it. Otherwise, pulling them from the fire is the way to go...
  10. I'm not sure. I tried it a few times but realized that the suffering/return rate in that setting is not what I enjoy. It was just what I gathered about seeing many comments overall about the value of matches in that setting - and assumed they are a lot more limited. I do not even collect all on Stalker...
  11. ... has anyone ever reached a state in the game, where they ran out of something important and died because of it...? (apart from matches on Interloper) After 5-600 days on a Stalker, i usually have more stuff, than what I could use up in another 1-2000 days... I think running out of things to do, and dying from boredom is more likely... 😉 I think this change will just force us to vary the diet a bit, but won't (in any meaningful way) limit how long we can live...

    ice-window?

    finally we'd know what's under:)

    ice-window?

can we have this in Mountain Pass...? https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-us-canada-67394816 ( @Admin )
  14. My first thought about the poison wolves has also been a bit like... wouldn't they die of that poison...? But I came up with a second explanation, that makes it - for me at least - more believable and fitting for TLD. Namely, that these wolves are the ones who were immune to the toxin (i.e. all others died), but they carry it on their fur/body. Given that most other animals also die of it, they are skinny, hungry and more aggressive. The toxic gas in BlackRock has been baffling me a bit: there was clearly a sign that we should be wearing a mask to enter. So I have spent quite some time to check everything for a gas mask. Only to realize, I am expected to just go in, and run as fast as I can. (I did backup the save before, tbh...) I'm happy it gets rounded out now.
  15. UPDATE: I've found my first Tales bunker, it was covered under snow, and I could only uncover it with the radio - similarly as the transponder caches. Maybe stumbling upon them by accident is no longer possible - as it has been foolproofed in the meantime? Or if it has always been under the snow, I'm not sure what the "not to touch anything" info referred to before... Anyhow, thanks again for your help! It was really cool btw:)
  16. I find the technical balaclava clearly superior to the greenface version, but I also understand what was mentioned before, that most of its buffs do not play a role, as it is inner layer. Just a thought: maybe it is so amped up, to give us a chance for not wearing an outer layer on the head, and go around with a mere 0,2 kg, low deterioration cool looking headwear?
  17. ...have you tried turning it off and on again...? but seriously, I've been searching FA back and forth during multiple aurorae - with zero signals caught - when I realized I have not turned it on after repairing... maybe helpful.
  18. I cannot imagine how anyone thought this much content would fit a 6-8 weeks schedule. even 6 months feels amazingly stretched... When we walk around those maps, every bit of snow, rock, shrub, tree, ice, cave, building, animal spawnpoints and behaviours have been crafted for us, and arranged in a way that is simply breathtaking from every angle. Think about the thousands of loot spawning points hidden all over the place carefully balanced about what and how much to find where, how to make them almost invisible, and different in every run.. All in a way to keep it interesting, gorgeous, tricking us, surprizing us, making us figure out a maze and solve its puzzles through hints. Thank you Hinterland, Thanks for everyone working on it. I never stop being amazed.
  19. Thanks @xanna! that definitely clears it up. [When I tried checking the fandom page, the first line was "location of the bunker...", eeer... I closed it as quickly as I could...] @DIA - thank you also for looking that up! I'd probably go with @hozz1235's suggestion not to touch the whole bunker, before prompted - just in case:) Now I know they look different so have all info, I needed:)
  20. thank you! so if I find a prepper's cache looking bunker, it is safe to visit and loot:)
  21. so.., will I be directed to visit them? that helps...:) Thank You! Also, some info I found makes me wonder, if the Tales bunkers are/look the same as the prepper's caches or something entirely different? (it's tricky to search online as often full of spoilers, which i want to avoid...)
  22. The US and some other countries use 120-130V AC as standard, Europe and others use 230V AC. Many appliances can handle both (having a range of 110-250 V or so) only they need a plug converter. As far as I know: 120V is much less likely to kill you, but is less economical to transmit, than 230V, which is more dangerous. 400V is fairly lethal.
  23. I haven't yet done the Tales bunkers, and have a few questions: I think I've read before (but cannot find it now in the forums), that if you visit the Tales bunkers "too early", then they might not work properly - or something like that. - What does "too early" mean here? If I have the radio from FA with me, and visit them, is that OK, or do I specifically have to visit them during an Aurora, when the radio is powered? - What are the consequences if I visit them "too early"? Is my whole Tales busted and need to start a new run? Hopefully someone can clear it up - thanks in advance!:)
  24. TLD-themed swiss army knife ...? or can opener...?:D but seriously: I'd buy the maple-leaf-hat Wool Toque in an instant. with a matching scarf. (I keep collecting and repairing them in the game, despite using the bunny hat with balaclava.)
