  1. >spawn in (Coastal Highway, Stalker) >literally spawn in the struggle range of a wolf >80% condition gone in an instant, blood loss on neck and right leg >immediately bolt for the nearby fishing cabins, try to find a bandage >come out of the first one, prepared to sprint to the other as I don't have time to make a bandage (15% condition left) >instantly die as another wolf nearby glitches and bugs out while barking, causing it to bark every 0.1 seconds the game of all time 10/10
  2. Why not just fly off the island if you can fly a helicopter?
  3. Begin transmission... Oh, to hell with the radio protocol. Game bugged out around Bunker Alpha and I didn't even notice. I'm done. Two days worth of work down the drain. I'm not doubling back that far (especially considering the radio transmitter in the bunker itself is kaput now that I opened it) and I'm not gonna walk around in the dark for another eight hours because I missed a note hidden under a bookshelf or something. Nothing of use or note in Bunker Beta, either- it's in Pleasant Valley if you're going to follow in my footsteps and do this properly. There was no transmitter in Mystery Lake. I fell back on the one in Pleasant Valley, which covers both regions. Don't expect any further updates. End transmission.

  7. Forsaken Airfield is absolutely a joke. The only locations that have anything of value are the Main Hangar, Final Approach, and the coal tower in the Transfer Pass. The rest is just dead space- nothing of note. I hope this changes in Signal Void.
  8. 6/10 You have to structure your entire playstyle around it, but it's worthwhile. Minimize daytime activities, maximize nighttime activities. If you must do anything at day time, make it reading or repairing. I personally run Blizzard Walker/Snow Walker/Darkwalker because I'm agile like that
  9. I've already developed a to-do list that differs from the norm considerably. Load an Archivist challenge run due to the extra auroras. Search every nook and cranny of the map for any sign of the Tale. If not found (or found and inaccessible), load a Voyageur/Stalker save as per usual and search again. Upload any findings to the wiki- the world must know. If still not found, load a Pilgrim save with The Five Perks (Snow Walker, Blizzard Walker, Cold Fusion, STTH, Darkwalker) and search every nook and cranny of the map twice. Cry as someone immediately manages to beeline straight to the first bunker through pure luck and immediately completes the Tale.
  10. Nobody told me that it was gonna be this cold up here! Ti says it's fine, but it's really not. It's 7 degrees outside! Anyway, temperature problems aside, we've settled into the new house nicely. Well, I have, at least. He still isn't quite used to it- you know how he is with new places. I got those sweaters you sent us in the mail. Cowichans, right? They're really comfortable, and Ti absolutely loves his. Just wanted to say thanks again for them, they'll really come in handy with this weather. Oh yeah, and the coat too. I'm really glad you offered to clean it for me, and it's looking better than ever. You'll have to teach me your secrets sometime- anyone else would ruin the fur, and I'd never hear the end of it. Hope to see you soon! -Sydney December 26th, 1991 Lakeside Township, Coastal Highway, GBI
  11. No, I think it was Stalker or Voyageur. I never play Interloper- Stalker is dangerous enough for my tastes, and Interloper turns off several items I really like.
  12. So in that case, why wouldn't hotplates heat up? Hotplates are comparatively simple and unlikely to be completely ruined. If nothing else, it'd be a good idea in places like Camp Office, where the hotplate there would basically double the cooking slots you have to work with in an Aurora.
  13. The bane of hobos everywhere, Trench Foot is an affliction gained by exposure of the feet to cold, damp, and often unsanitary conditions (but notably not freezing conditions, as that would lead to frostbite instead) for extended periods of time. There is no cure, barring debridement and/or complete amputation of affected parts. There would ideally be two ways to counter this: 1. Carry a few extra pairs of socks and swap out regularly to keep your feet dry, especially if they get wet. 2. Remember to take off your shoes and socks in indoor environments to give your feet room to breathe.
  14. Maybe, to make it more realistic, it could be a colored scrap of cloth wrapped around the can or mug instead of changing color? That way, instead of seeing a green can, you'd be able to see a green scrap of cloth tied around the can (or the mug's handle). Which really feels like it'd fit in universe.
  15. Yes, I know that. My point is that everyone is suggesting Rifle variants. This is possibly the first Hatchet variant suggested, literally ever. Also, I'm a Pathfinder now.
  16. Who knows, maybe Great Bear isn't that far from the mainland and there's a highway across. Would explain how they got all that industrial equipment to the area. It's a bear spear. Use it against bears.
  17. No no. He wants to change it mid game.
  18. I've been trying to find a Hinterland coffee mug like the one in game for about a month now. I really hope the store comes back soon!
  19. I've recently gotten to tidying up my Discord, and I realized that The Long Dark is one of the few games that I haven't found a Discord server for. It'd be a lot easier to talk about the game on there, so does anyone know if there's a Discord server for The Long Dark?
  20. There have been quite a few instances where I shot a wolf and it kept charging at me, managing to initiate a Struggle even though it was actively bleeding out. It would make more sense if an injured wolf would be easier to Struggle against than a healthy one.
  21. Beef Jerky is awfully plentiful on the island... And only a few foods actually give Vitamin C... Scurvy would be incredibly likely, especially for very late game survivors.
