  1. "Feeling the warmth of a chimney fire in the evening" It looked even better when i watched the fire animations. Still a very comforting shot
  2. "Sorry but you had to go!" He ate 5 bullets before he died. I feel bad because he was just running around left and right and didn´t see any possible escape route in his panic. On the other hand, he tried to eat me... Nature is scary, both ways! Ah i forgot to mention that i really like the overhauled aiming mechanics. It is so much better and realistic!
  3. @ben91 I had a similar problem with the game some time ago where i thought it was simply tedious and repetitive instead of being a challenge. Always getting attacked by wolves is a PITA, having no wolves makes the world too empty and boring. But back then, I didn´t consider other aspects TLD provides for the player. I was tunnel-visioning on the challenge only. Frankly speaking, the game doesn't lack any challenge, it isn't even tedious or boring for me nowadays. Today, I even realize on how much of its beauty i missed out on. The freedom it gives you. It's especially the freedom that makes this game amazing. Not being forced into some A+ game strategy to beat the odds is what sets it apart from the many other titles you could play for a challenge (Dark Souls, Competitive Pokémon, Chess, ...). TLD cannot even be considered a "real" game to be honest. It is more like a visual poem, something you are supposed to enjoy while you are playing, not always a challenge that must be overcome. On the contrary, you can simply enjoy the view if you choose to. Or you go on a wolf hunt spree (which can become quite a challenge). You could also try to find some good spots for beautiful screenshots. Whatever pleases you, basically. Long Story short, the game doesn't send you on a million quests and it is not meant to do. It keeps you busy in its own artistic way. You are the one who has to figure out what you want to do next. Set your own goals, milestones etc. Yes, a 300 days run can be very stale at times but that is probably because you sit in your bunker not venturing out further than 300m away from your base. By the way, i do not even dislike your post. On the contrary, i like some ideas like the one about a higher variety of challenging elements instead of just plain wolf and item abundance. Better customization of the game would be a very welcome addition too. But if Hinterland has no plans on implementing such features we gotta deal with it. And honestly, the game is in a very good state already, especially since the latest update. I hope you kinda understand my point of view. Sincerely
  4. Thanks for the update. I love every single aspect mentioned in the video. Some thoughts: Especially the quality of life improvements are very welcome. They are the "little things that count" like you said in your video about improvised clothing items. The Revolver and the new aiming mechanics are intriguing and probably my favorite part of the update since shooting doesn't feel as random anymore The overhauled sprains are very welcome. I like more challenging but less frequent afflictions more than abundant minor ones! Birch Bark Tea sounds interesting, i want to find out about it ingame. Always nice to have more (brewable) items. The Go! Energy Drink looks like a real nice treat for players who use emergency stims in situations mentioned in the video. Now we have a better alternative. Really nice and well thought out! One little request I'd have would be to make a toggle on/off for revolvers separately in the custom game Interface. I will go now and enjoy the update. Have a good day Hinterland Team and keep the good work up! Sincerely
  5. @ManicManiac Being a voice of reason is a nigh impossible quest when a major update is imminent!
  6. @ManicManiac The video will be enough to let my european pleb body sleep tight while the canadian masters get to play it on release
  7. "He might just be sleeping... Let´s find out!" A bow-shot later: "Bollocks!" Made my day
  8. Check the fandom wikis. There this wildlife behavior was mentioned long ago! @Gazbeard I am afraid, your clip isnt working (at least not for me, it says "page not found")
  9. I think they changed something bigger. It´s either animations or an overhaul of some mechanics that weren't working the way Hinterland (and/or the playerbase) imagined. But it obviously got us all to do what it was supposed to: speculating and talking about the game and its upcoming update. I for myself am excited to see what is going to change in the update coming soon 😀
  10. How long can this question thread go before the forum engine starts complaining because of its length?
  11. All those boring old saves have been wiped and now i am ready for the new update (and my exam )
  12. Yeah well, that would be called a bear then! Oh, wait...
  13. Would be quite realistic since all predatory animals kind of behave as if they were rabid
  14. Are there ever going to be more complex nutrition mechanics in the game? Like a nutrition condition that would affect your body condition recovery based on how well fed your character is so that it would actually make a noticeable difference if you stood above let´s say 1000 kCal consistently? That would add a little more complexity to the game in terms of calories management.
  15. Will Buffer Memories in the future be a way to reveal secrets (like stashes or prepper caches). A secret place that only becomes accessible after finding out about it. Additionally, enabling custom Buffer Memories for new games (e.g. loaded via code) would be kind of thrilling. This way the community could add to the experience of any and each Player.
  16. @Hadrian I would take this idea and implement it into the game based on your concept 101! Sounds absolutly well designed!
  17. @StrangerFromTheInternet I would expect them to most likely implement vanilla modding in TLD. That could basically be an XML File where you can specify almost anything (environment, wildlife, items, etc.) and an engine to translate the XML content into your new game. If they are ever going to introduce modding then this is the most likely thing to happen.
  18. Bow drills usually don't work with moist wood. So this could be a possible balance parameter. You can only use a bow drill if you have a dried piece of wood. That would require you to dry a piece of (cedar) wood several days before having a usable fire source with your bow drill!
  19. Welche Schwierigkeit? Versuch mal in Benutzerdefiniert eine sehr hohe grundlegende Ressourcenverfügbarkeit einzustellen und es da zu testen. Vielleicht hast du einfach nur Pech!
  20. Though i am not a complete newcomer to this forum: Thank you for the greeting
