  1. You cannot spawn in the new region...you have to find it first. Thank GOD.
  2. It was not mentioned as part of the initial DLC release in the update video. So I'd say it's in one of the updates to come.
  3. I absolutely refuse to spawn in the new region if such a thing is possible. I'm playing it as it was in the olden days. Random start, and if I get the new Region...restart until I don't. Play a regular sandbox from there. I plan not to head toward the Far Territory until I am fully kitted out and prepared. As far as I'm concerned, spawning directly into the zone...after all of the work they've done to prepare all the new Transition Zones- etc...is antithetical. The best way to experience it is to make my way into the new areas from the outside in and do it as part of a regular sandbox.
  4. I pretty much have 4 I always use. Better Water/Better Fuel Managment Save image filter Better night sky. Any others are just bonuses. Also Relentless Night...but that's almost a Total Conversion
  5. I play with mods as well, and often voice my appreciation to modders themselves. But with each major update I uninstall melonloader...mainly because I want to experience what Hinterland has changed and improved themselves. Then if I find something lacking I can then install mods as they've been fixed to work with the latest version.
  6. IN the twitter thread following his tweet about it....someone guesses 18-25 minutes. His response was: Oh goodness no not that long. We're only talking about what is in Part One. Then in a later response he stated about how long the video would be if they went into detail on everything on the DLC all at once: If we did a single video covering the whole Expansion Pass, it'd probably take an hour. Currently my guess is around 12 minutes.
  7. It's possible they might remove the regular Crampons on Stalker and above. This would make improvised crampons the only option for those playing the highest difficulties.
  8. It's also different in the facial features and smaller overall.
  9. I just noticed that...I'll leave it as is...hahaha! Rather craptacular :D.
  10. They are actually considered Crepuscular. They are most active at night...but are also active at Dawn and Dusk as well. Also since the Aurora, TLD's animals don't act like normal animals would so I'd have my head on a swivel stick at all times.
  11. Hinterland have always intended to introduce NPC's to Survival so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt until I've seen the Trader for myself.
  12. I can't find it in all his myriad of tweets and responses but he said in essence to someone concerned about The Trader- Have we ever done anything that was detrimental to the game. A lot of thought has gone into the Trader and we are very, very careful with The Long Dark. I believe that with the great care we have been taking throughout the creation of The Long Dark that we should be given the benefit of the doubt when it comes to this addition. This response got multiple retweets and a ton of likes. Not to mention that only the folks at Hinterland know what is going on in the Sandbox as we move into the future. Because of their track record I personally trust them in this matter.
  13. As I promised to Raphael my next $20 would go toward the steam card to purchase the DLC. I now have that steam card. I'll either do a random start or....start in PV...to do my usual prep sweep before I head back to ML...and then onward toward the new areas.
  14. Do as you will, for typing up my entire story in the Journal I'm surprised mine went as well as it did. It's just going to take a long time to get my LP uploaded. Especially since I'm doing another shorter LP series right now that needs to be completed before the DLC hits.
  15. I'm actually going to be doing a random start...so who knows where I'll end up. Though I will say it seems to default to more often than not...the latest region released. If I am close to P.V. or TWM I will start the same way as you. P.V. plane crash...onto TWM...but stopping in Ash Canyon first...then summit. Then across to Mystery Lake...and through to- (I can't say because Hinterland revealed where the new connector is on the Expansion page so go there if you want to be spoiled).
  16. Yes I believe it's Vaughn's Rifle- the Rifle Variant...just like they show us a bow variant later.
  17. Indeed. It also has one of my fave moose spawns...right behind the lodge. The one down with the wolves is a pita. I love BRR though always have.
  18. I've totally changed my mind...I'll be doing a random start as I have done almost always...and see where I begin. Into the deep end probably LOL.
  19. Indeed. Also on top of that ALL Spawn Points in all Regions for the Player have been changed. All wildlife spawn points and pathfinding have been changed. All item spawn points and loot tables have been refreshed.
  20. I see another Technical Pack in that trailer! Makes just going straight through Broken RR tempting...but I'm not a sucker. P.V. Start for me on Expansion Day.
  21. You're misreading...there is no Insanity affliction. Insomnia now...that's what's coming.
