  1. Having completed the Langston Mine exploration, I'd like to return and explore it more thoroughly at leisure. But that seems unlikely as I only have 2 or 3 canisters left . I was hoping HL would add a crafting or repair functionality. I think I destroyed most of my expired canisters (by putting them into containers) so simply using charcoal to revitalize cartridges might not be enough for me. HL is far more clever than I but here's some thoughts: One scrap metal and three charcoals to craft a canister at a forge (heavy hammer required). Or perhaps craft the metal shell at a forge and fill it at a workbench? Three charcoals to recharge an existing canister at a workbench. Maybe require a hacksaw to open an empty canister? Perhaps cloth required as well to wrap the charcoal? But then canisters might be available in the future from the Trader.
  2. Zac's videos are always high quality with excellent content. And, his voice...
  3. I'm not experiencing any of the issues you've reported. The ammo situation is the same for me. Two rifles and 7 cartridges so far. No revolver but 30+ rounds. I've scavenged AC and TWM for specific items (will return later) and making a beeline for the new connectors/regions. Not sure the detour to HRV for the Moose hide satchel is worth it as I have the technical backpack. And I'm unwilling to spend the time to make one right now.
  4. With a bit more gameplay I now know the ambient sounds have been changed and enhanced. I heard the growl again near Deer Clearing in TWM, but didn't panic as before. I've also heard a different mewing sound from the Does. The new sounds from the deer are possibly what I thought was a cougar, but I'm not sure. If Hinterland has added teaser sounds it would elevate their game design reputation even higher than it is. Enough of this reality. Time to return to TLD.
  5. Love the changes. I found some critical gear in the same old spots, but one important early game item was missing. The game feels fresh again. I'm playing Stalker mode and found both a rifle and a collector rifle. I haven't had the opportunity to test fire yet. Too few cartridges. Hatchet, but no knife yet. Lots of clothes in poor condition but no sewing kit yet. I'm just now at the point that I can explore rather than just survive. Despite the rough installation, I just waited an hour or so and it updated properly. So far it plays well. The only issue I'm having is that it seems hard to find the hotspot to grab Old Man's Beard lichen. That could just be me, though. All in all, I'm extremely happy with the DLC and updates.
  6. I heard the noise twice. It's entirely possible I was imagining it as a growl, though. Not sure what that sound was. By the time I had enough courage to exit the cave it didn't happen again.
  7. Just added the DLC. Started in Ash Canyon to prepare for the new regions. Near the Stone Shelf Cave heard a new sound that really got my attention. The low growl/cry of what I suspect is a cougar ready to pounce. Could not see it anywhere. Like a rabbit I've retreated to the cave as I figure out if the old drop-torch-raise-stone maneuver will work. Anyone already faced a cougar and survived?
  8. I'm not good enough to survive long in Interloper mode, but I suspect the new regions will be harder than what I've experienced before in Stalker mode. And that cougar worries me. I want to be prepared before I enter them. With the refreshed loot tables and themed supplies (love it!), obtaining what I need will be challenging. Here's my plan: I'll start in Ash Canyon for the technical backpack, crampons, and bearskin coat. (Will they be there?) Then move to Timberwolf Mountain for the better clothing and other supplies. (Again, what's in the containers and will there even be containers in TWM?) Then on to Pleasant Valley or Mystery Lake where I *guess* the new connectors will be attached. Your suggestions?
  9. @fishdan Thanks! I used the editor to add the Paradise Meadows Farmhouse Key and it worked great with TLD 1.99
  10. Encouraged by your success in returning for the cache, I also tried to mountain goat my way in. I gave up after about 20 minutes. I'm assuming you did this at the landslide at the swaying bridge. I'm on PC, not sure if the platform matters versus console. I tried to drop weight thinking that might help, but found that, at this location, you cannot drop items. Perhaps that is the clue.
