hozz1235
Mine has to be PV, the birch forest around Lonely Homestead. You'd think you would find an abundance of birch bark and saplings here! What is yours?
RandomPlayer
Hmmm, you'd think that there would be dozens of such spots considering the size of the island and the mere fact that so much of it is timbered. But the Birch Tree forest does bring some interesting colors with the various grasses that grow there between the trees. I often look at those large trees and wonder if the Devs didn't just resize the saplings to make the big trees!
Pınar51-06
I like the birch area in Ash Canyon between pillars footrest and stone shelf cave. It’s so quiet and peaceful in bright sky. Also ıt’s a safe place for shooting moose and you can find polaroid near the fallen tree bridge
Leeanda
I too like the birch area in PV but I think my favourite is the little cabin area between trappers and the hunters blind! It's pretty sheltered with a few bunnies, plenty of wood and it even has its own toilet!☺️
Drifter Man
Lonely Homestead gets my vote, too. You just have to watch out for the bear while collecting bark.

Catlover
I haven't really explored much of Ash Canyon, but I love the birch woods, and the burned areas of forest that are so different from anywhere else in Great Bear. It's hard to pick a favourite, though, as most places are so beautiful/interesting on the island.
stirfoo
The patch of woods on the Mystery Lake side of The Ravine. No aggressive critters just bunnies and deer, a cave, and plenty of birch bark. It's a nice little reprieve.
twyn1
Yes -- Definitely the Pleasant Valley birch grove -- it is just beautiful, the color and lighting at various times of the day and in different weather. I walk through it just to enjoy the scenery (on Pilgrim, so Mr. Bear leaves me alone). I also like the Bear Creek Campground area in Coastal Highway -- esp. the one cabin off by itself, below the campground. It's just a beautiful view, esp. in the evening when snow is falling. And if you stand in the right place, you can hardly see the dead guy splayed out by the fallen tree 😉
