KlabauterMann
If I use the time capsule, what happens to the savegames? Has each capsule their own savegames? Or will the swith to an older version influence my actual savegames? Edited September 24, 2019 by KlabauterMann
ManicManiac
Honestly I don't know, that's the reason I've not tried it just yet... I'm currently on a mission in my present survival sandbox. I know that @Ice Hole has been using the time capsule quite a bit already, and can perhaps better answer your question. Ice Hole
This is from the TC page: "We have taken steps to protect your Current Version Save Files but please ensure you follow the TIME CAPSULE instructions carefully. Current update saves will not work earlier (Unsupported) updates." Indicates that Current Version Save Files are protected. Seems it should be using the steam cloud to retain our save files. If this setting is turned off then I would copy the hinterland save folder that is located in a user hidden directory. I am almost done touring Mystery Lake and will be updating to the next build. Plan on making a save file in the build and then revert back to the first and see if the old save is returned.
devamadhu
I've tried a couple of the older Time Capsule games, and when I switch back to the current version, my current save files are still available. I haven't checked to see if my Time Capsule saves are preserved yet though.
ManicManiac
Good news. My thanks to both of you. @Ice Hole @devamadhu
Ice Hole
Saved a game in the early access build at Camp Office. Loaded the Silent Hunter. Entered the Quonset Hut and the game now auto saves. Returned to the early access and loaded the save and now at Camp Office. It seems the saves are being preserved between builds. Top notch work Hinterland!
hozz1235
You can back up your save games yourself - they are just files on your c:\ drive. I do this periodically on my longer runs in the event of bug-related deaths.

Love your new profile picture reflecting how you've been "removed?" lol I was worried about the saves too, I wish I could participate but my internet is super slow.
