Pro-Tip: You can heat canned food around a campfire without using a slot

I've only tested this with a campfire but it's a nice little addition. It does take alot longer to heat without using one of the stone slots.

No, it's strictly for food types that are more "reheated" than "cooked", such as canned goods or already brewed tea or coffee.

It also works on the mantel of fireplaces. I was surprised at first because I was just trying to store my canned goods on it, but every time I went to place one it started the 'open' sequence. I didn't know about the campfire though, that is good to know!

This works woth every single fireplace in the game. Stoves, campfires, fire barrels... Pretty handy

Yeah, you can use the same method to warm drinks while you do other things so you have a warm drink to head off on when you're finished with your fire.

Also, it looks like nothing will burn when reheating! When I did it the progression stopped at 'Hot' and didn't indicate time until ruined.
