  1. deadman custom is 10 days. Interloper itself would be 20 days
  2. a treatment does not pause the condition cap. You lose 2% max condition per day you have the affliction whether you take a treatment or not. So minimum you will be down to 80% cap by the end of 10 days. Best thing to do if you are using the affliction for strategic advantage is to take treatment the first 9 days and then hold the last treatment until you want to actually end it. An extra 5 days of parasites could save your life depending on your food situation.
  3. that's true... the sleeping anytime thing is quite useful. Parasites can be a useful survival tool... ironically.
  4. it drops by 2% per day... so it will eventually kill you if not treated.
  5. yes, the cap goes away but the condition does not fill itself back in. If you started the parasites at 100% and had no other source of condition loss then after 10 days your condition will be 80% of max 80%... when the parasites affliction then clears you will be at 80% of max 100%. So the affliction doesn't tick away at your condition, and if you were already below 80% condition then there will potentially be no lasting impact of the condition. Worst case (or best case depending how you look at it) is that parasites could reduce your condition from 100% to 80%. But since you probably didn't start above 80% when you got them... no harm no foul.
  6. oh, well that's not so bad then. I assumed it was everything Interloper level and beyond. I'll go back and read the setup.
  7. except that parasites forces your max condition down to 50% after 20 days so it's a forced loss of condition. They aren't that bad outside of deadman but I could see them being the end of most deadman runs.
  8. Which part, or parts, of TLD are you most proud of? Like which locations or bits of code or game systems do you look at time and time again and say to yourself "Man! We really nailed that."?
  9. Watched a streamer last night trying TLD for the first time and it was great to be reminded what it felt the first few times... figuring things out, dying because you can't figure out how to make water, freezing as you try to harvest an animal on day one for 2 hours outside, eating bad food, not able to find anything, not knowing what was around each corner. Was great to watch the learning curve.
  10. this one has always bugged me. I carry around a tiny piece of ruined cooked fish to use as bait. But when I'm heading home after harvesting a kill, tapping the decoy button drops 1kg of prime fresh deer instead of my ruined fish... or a whole rabbit I didn't have a chance to harvest yet. Early on if I'm dropping decoy to distract while I run away i don't want to lose a day worth of food in the process.
  11. I find the biggest one for me is sidestepping down sheer cliff faces where I should really have fallen to my death. I mean 10 in game minutes to go down the face of TMW and reach the Mountaineer's cabin is game breaking (and bypasses weight carry restrictions compared to using ropes on the way down).
  12. Can you give us a short bit of teaser info on another game your working on?
  13. Great series. Fun read. My current run seems destined to die shortly unless I can pull out some miracle. I'll have to throw a twist on my next one.
  14. might be a small request but it makes sense and would be a quality of life improvement.
  15. I love the thrill of starting a new survival run. Seeing the random start location. The thrill of looting the first locations to see if I'll find great stuff or die horribly after striking out
