  2. Hello survivors! I’ve been trying to think of ways I can improve at TLD and test myself. What better way to that than with Challenges? Give me some suggestions for custom challenges. The challenge must have: A title short description of the challenge rules/goals setting requirements Looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with. ^U^
  3. "Not bad for a newbie, I ate well that day" "Sailors breakfast, yum" "Another one washed up today..." "Jackpot!" "Looks like they took the easy way out..."
  4. I’m a sucker for ambiance and level design. i love it when a game can make you FEEL immersed into its world, and the TLD definitely nails that home for me. Walking around places like towns and roads, places that were once bustling with noises and people, now completely dead and silent. really makes me feel desperate and alone.
  5. This one goes out to the crew of the Riken and all the sailors of Great Bear Island. "Barrett's Privateers" - Stan Rogers Link: Alternative link:

  7. Cozy Cabin. (Don't mind my friend, he's just making snow angels) This painting looks familiar...
  8. Saw my English teacher throwing away newspaper and my brain was going “Noooo! I can use that for tinder!” Almost fished it out of the trash can ( I’m a loot goblin in both games and irl ) but instead I just asked If could take the remaining newspapers home. Another thing I do that I saw somebody else comment on here is keeping a pocket knife one me at all times. Never know when it’ll come in handy.
  9. I was doing a Black Rock region challenge and doing a bit of character roleplay. everything was going well until I climbed down into the ravine in hopes of getting into the mine. I looked over the waterfall and went “that doesn’t seem like a big drop, I think I’ll be fine” I in fact, was not fine. Messed myself up really badly and died a few minutes later, right at the climbing rope.
  10. Hello survivors! Since I've started being more active and engaging in TLD community/forums, I think it's time I introduce myself and let other people know me better. My name is Liam or Smol Alien ( either name is fine ) I'm a 18 year old senior in highschool ( graduating in 2024 ) with ADHD and autism. I discovered The Long Dark back in 2014-2015 by a YouTuber by the name of Paulsoaresjr. Don't know what it was but 12 year old me fell in love with the game. Ever since then I've been inspired to get into survival, bushcrafting, prepping, etc. and since I got the game last year I've had many ideas, stories, fan creations and much more. ( I even had an idea for a short film ) Anyway! That's a little about me and how I got into TLD. If anybody has questions for me I'll gladly answer them whenever I can. Until next time, love and laughter always and be good people. ~Smol ( Beautiful Screenshot taken by ManicManiac )

  13. Found this guy at the Camp Office in Mystery Lake. Poor dude must've died from boredom, or something else...
  14. Nice artwork! It’s nice being able to see what your character is wearing now, gives the game a bit more immersion.
  15. I got bored during class today and like the procrastinator I am, i decided to remake Mackenzie in Hero Forge. Its not 1:1 cause of customization limits but hopefully you all enjoy it. I plan on making another TLD survivor based around the new Zone of Contamination reign.
  16. Hey! Hope you guys don't mind me joining, I know I posted this on the other Collab fanfiction but I'd thought my character would work more here )) As a light snow fell a young boy no older than 16 walked through the woods. He looked pale and tired but kept walking. He held a hatchet in one hand and a burnt out flare in the other. Finn had been up the night before, looking for any signs of life or people. Day by day corpse by corpse he'd loose hope in finding another living being. The boy stopped upon seeing a trailer. The place he's called how for the last few days ever since the lights. Pushing open the door and slamming it shut he tossed his pack on the old bunk bed and sat down at his desk. Placing his hatchet on the table he looked at his left hand, now bloodied and torn from a wolf, his pinky and ring finger missing. Pulling the nearby first aid kit towards himself he opened it up to get the antiseptic and bandages. Wincing in pain and cursing as the antiseptic did it's work. "Jesus that fucking hurt!" He said out loud to himself. Once the stinging sensation went away he wrapped the bandage around his hand, sighing in relief.
  17. Hello! i'm not the best at writing so feedback is appreciated, anyway enjoy! )) While on a hunting trip through the forests of Mystery Lake you come across a corpse, not an unusual sight for you until you get closer and noticed it mauled and mangled. "poor guy, probably was a bear" you thought. next to the corpse laid a blood-stained journal which you pick up. On your way back to your cabin you notice night falling, quickly you set up camp for the night in an abandoned cabin. setting your rifle down by your pack and pulled out the journal and began reading. DAY 7: It's been a few days since the lights appeared in the sky. everything's gone to hell. power doesn't work, wildlife acting up, violent weather. it's like mother nature decided to punish us with a frozen hell. I've managed to loot a few houses from the coast, enough to last me about a week. hope i don't get in trouble with the law when everything goes back to normal. DAY 12: finally found a way out of the coast, the road was blocked by debris from a landslide, so I had to take a shortcut through the train tunnel. set up camp for the night in one of the train cars. can't help but feel like I'm being watched, heard a strange screech sounding like a wolf, i HOPE it was a wolf... i need some rest, anxiety getting the better of me. DAY 21: Been real paranoid lately, keep hearing those screeches. gets louder every night, heard what sounded like bloodcurdling scream last night after the screech. am i going insane? did i REALLY hear that?? my mind is scrambled thinking about it. DAY 22: saw some crows circling something this morning, went to see what it was... i regret it... i was right. girl was mangled beyond recognition, her body was slumped up against the a birch tree. what the fuck is out here that can do that to someone?? couldn't be a wolf, bear maybe? whatever it is, i'm not leaving the camp office without my revolver from now on. DAY 25: It keeps getting louder. i would only hear it once every few days but now i hear it every night. as if it's wandering around, waiting for me... i barely sleep at night now. brain too busy being scared shitless to sleep. Grey Mother used to tell us stories of a supernatural creature known as The Darkwalker, i used to think it was just a dumb ghost story but after what i've experienced.... i'm starting to think it's real. DAY 26: Took stock of my supplies and i'm scared. i only got enough left to last 3 more days, 2 at most. meaning i'll have to go out to find more. finding food i'm not scared of, it making it back alive knowing there's something out there stalking me... DAY 27: BEWARETHEBIRCHBEWARETHEBIRCHBEWARETHEBIRCHBEWARETHEBIRCHBEWARETHEBIRCHBEWARETHEBIRCHBEWARETHEBIRCHBEWARETHEBIRCHBEWARETHEBIRCH The last page of the journal ends as it's torn and stained with dry blood. a shiver runs down your spine as you hear an unnatural wolve like howl as your stove fire begins to burn out, leaving you to your fate.
