  1. I have not tried it, bedroll might have fitted but i dont know how fast it despawns. I would rather not sleep in it, if it despawns the next blizzard for new beachcomb-items, but im not sure yet how this works. Thats a risk i'd only take if its otherwise a very safe death.
  2. I did a bit of searching on FA on my Interloper now. I found some cables and a fuse, but no Transmitter, so that "cache" things are probably disabled too. I was very surprised to find a Aviators hut in the Tower, i didnt expect that, especially because FA is fully looted. But that probably means that the new bunkers except the tale-bunkers are not hidden underground, right?
  3. Ahh, well i cant speak for those since i have never played that challenge. And i dont plan to, as i like every region except for broken railroad and i like the variety and wandering But yeah, i can see that rng-ness hits alot harder if you just roam 1 region instead of entire map
  4. Its a matter of preference, but i do take randomness all the time against fixed loot tables. I never learned the loot table previously, because that makes exploring so extremely boring for me. If i know where stuff is, i almost lose the complete interest to get it and exploring doesnt feel as rewarding. While i have been very unlucky on pullovers when i started my first interloper after the loot table change, the first thin wool sweater i found was in FA, after looting everything except Blackrock. Usually, you got those after TWM summit at the latest. This can happen with more rng-ness, but its alot more interesting to hope for every container to find interesting stuff, and discover crucial items in very different and unexpected places on each run. It not only makes exploring alot more fun, but it also adds more replay value, because especially on interloper finding things like a bedroll or a hammer earlier than expected can quickly change your plans and/or paths.
  5. Could be, since i have not found a single blue flare on CH beach. No, the only thing i did with my interloper main since the update was getting some acorns, but i spend some days in CH and maybe DP this weekend to check it again on that survivor. I found those with my new Gunloper, made for this update to play the tale. I made basically everything interloper, enabled guns, disabled cabin fever and halfed health regeneration as a trade off. So beachcomb loot shouldnt be different from interloper, unless the enabled guns play a role for it. And maybe it does, because i found empty rifle shells as well.
  6. Do you have the impression that the items you get from beachcombing differs from area to area? So different things in BI and CH? I never use blue flares apart from fighting t-wolves, and i still hoard my 10 i got left on my interloper main character. I just found red ones so far from beachcombing. And i dont plan to return to BI before the last 2 whetstones are gone and sawmill is required
  7. Ship with 1 Red Flare, several Fishes, 1 Cloth, 1 Fuse and 2 Flaregun Shells in it now. I think this is about as good as it gets. Still the gunloper custom, for reference. Im gonna spend the upcoming long weekend with my interloper main in CH, to see how much different it is there. So far, i really love the new beachcombing!
  8. I do have one main Base where i stockpile everything, but regional bases with all medications, cloth, some arrow mats, food, at least blue tools and a few birch bark teas ready. Also 1 Jerry Can in mainbase, and spare ones in regions you often cross, prefered with fishing to replenish oil. So you have one big base where you hoard stuff (and use it for decoration) but when you wander around and something happens, you can ensure a quick recovery. Or replenish lost arrows, lantern fuel etc. After looting every map, i often go to some region i havent been in a while and live a while in it. Having a shelter stocked with essentials helps alot. One of the things i do to keep myself busy after i looted everything is carry the stuff i have twice or more out to my regional bases. Mainbase is mostly Trappers, ML is amazing and probably best map for base because it connects to so many other regions, while being central with relatively mild weather and enough animals. My 514 days Interloper has his base in trappers. 2nd Choice is Jackrabbit Island, i picked that for my Gunloper as main base, to check the new beachcombing. Its kinda annoying though that its so remote, much longer travel to the new areas compared to trappers and no workbench in it. Quonset isnt an option. Because of the wolves, and because living in a garage isnt cozy
  9. I got a boat, if a canoe counts. Bow and some arrows have been in there. Also did another round of beachcomb, and found an improvised knife. It gets better and better
  10. Cant speak for new buildings etc since i have almost exclusively played my new gunloper for the previous days, but i'd love having new buildings in my interloper save. That would be another reason to explore the entire world again they added acorns in old maps as well, my interloper has some around camp office and i spotted alot of those around the cargos near the mountainers hut in TWM on my gunloper. more coffee for a coffee addict
  11. A Pallet, Boards, a Corpse with Matches on it, Saplings like before, a cured rabbit pelt, a little canoe with a bow and 2 arrows in it. Everythings pretty nice except the pallet (i dont really want to harvest that.. well maybe with a fire on clear day but CH is windy) but the biggest surprise have been the matches. I dont know if they are on every corpse washed up there, but "respawning" matches are amazing. Edit: Found 2 Hatchets on the Beach on my new Gunloper. Amazing!
  12. Amazing. That means im gonna explore the entire World a 2nd Time. Well.. except for Blackrock maybe
  13. Not sure if it was a Twitter Post or the Steam announcement post weeks ago, but i've read there that bunkers will appear only in new sandboxes. I didnt care much about them at first, since there have been no prepper caches before in interloper, but i was expecting to play the Tales. You already found a bunker on interloper (with full loot?)
  14. Well, im happy about the new Acorns and the little Arrows but not being able to play the Tales is a bit of a bummer though. I dont understand why thats necessary, because of the Items? That makes no sense, there are lots of non-loper items in momentos and they even made bear coats craftable of 1 hide instead of 2, which also made interloper quite a bit easier. I dont see any reason in it, but what can one do... except making a gunloper just for those
  15. Checking out Acorns, and marking them with Spray paint so i see them on Map. Then Arrows, then heading to FA in search of the tale
  16. Yeah, im on Day 507 Interloper here so i really dont want to restart again just for the tales. Im gonna create a gunloper just to check the bunkers but everything else i would prefer to play with my main character
  17. So, i read that the new Bunkers will only be in new Sandboxes created after todays Patch. But what about the Tales (and the special items about them)? Anyone played them already on existing sandboxes, and are those special items available on Interloper as well? Or is it like the item variants? And i dont really expect the Technical Balaclava on Interloper, but i found a normal one in the aurora mine, so...
  18. On day 498 of Interloper, i decided to light a 2-Stick-fire because it was clear weather while mapping the eastern part of Desolation Point (Mapping takes 15 Minutes gametime). After finishing mapping, there was a bear standing in front of my campfire. If i wouldnd have made that campfire, that could've ruined my post-totft 500 day run. But now im back on day 504 to trappers, with like 45 kg of bear meat in hibernia for whenever i return.
  19. Thanks alot for this detailed reply, Stratfox! This sounds way too cool, that surely would be extremely difficult for such a small company to recreate, but i would LOVE it! Even though im a Interloper player, i kind of like the timberwolf behaviour too. Its more real, and they look more real as well. But i woulnd want them on too many maps. As long you have blue flares, they are rather easy to deal with, and i dont engage them without blue flares. That restricts the time i spend on BI/Blackrock, this would be different on lower difficultys where you cant get like 3 bleed wounds from one jump. Still have 9 Blue Flares though, im very glad about the increased spawn rate of those. Since im on Day 416 Interloper again and its probably gonna be a ultra long run again, i'd rather keep them for those BI saw mill trips when the last 4 whetstones are out, rather than stumbling around more in Blackrock just for fun Or new map if there are timberwolfs in it, who knows. The idea of changing spawn points you observed in FA is amazing as well, i didnt know that. This, together with new spawn points and patrol areas that can overlap (deer and wolf) would probably the easist way to simulate this. One problem instantly coming to mind is that there should be a mechanic that prevents that like every deer on the map gets eaten while youre inside crafting stuff. So it should be sort of a rendering balance, it would be interesting to see those chases or at least some new deer carcasses already happening when wandering around, but animals popping up right in front of you would be a immersion breaker as well. Damn, now i imagine a Deer running past me, with a wolf behind it, just when im collecting sticks north of trapper's. That would be so funny🤣 Still, as clever as Hinterland is with their ability to hide items so well in corners and stuff, i think they could figure out a way to make it work. FA and its transition areas fit perfectly like a puzzle into that muskeg/BR trainline, without being planned in first hand, they are creative enough for that. Im sure
  20. Yeah, i'd be cool if they have fixed spawn places but wander around freely. But always return to their den at night, so if one has trouble finding them, one could pick a clear night to hunt a bear in its den. Mooses are elusive enough as they are, but for wolfs/deers that would be amazing. And we might see those wolf-chasing-deer moments without actively chasing a deer towards a wolf, to use up only 1 arrow condition or bypass that area more easy. Well, Snares might work on places they could spawn before venturing out, or a sort of sleep place they return to. Something similar like the yellow bone cave marking a bear cave, just for rabbits, for example. Thats at least how i would imagine it
  21. Would you prefer Animal behavior as it is, with fixed spots and paths they return to for every type, or would you prefer them to walk around freely? I've just seen a Wolf right under the Trappers hut, something i've seen for the first time in over 1000 hours played in TLD. It felt surprising, i was trying to figure out where the heck it came from since i didnt had anything smelly on me, and checking out its foodprints told me that it spawned there out of nowhere. For whatever reason. But it was a fun sight It was nice to see such a surprise, and that made me think about starting this thread. Usually when you know the maps, you know where you need to draw the bow because wolves can be there, you know where to hunt deers, bears etc. Which is nice if you going for specific pelts or so. But i think it would be even a little more immersive (despite TLD being already probably the most immersive survivalgame of all time) if animals could move free around the map. This could of course lead to some unwanted/dangerous surprises, but i would like that even more. What do you think about it?Yes, No, Maybe (Custom Option)?
  22. Incredible. I thought Momentos are fixed, not random. Damn, im freakin lucky in that case
  23. It was under a visor. Did you check every car in the bridge and radio tower? Maybe the key can be in a cannery car as well, or in one if those around the trailers
  24. Yep, after finding none in Milton with all of the cars, i was questioning if they can even spawn on Loper. Glad they did though, Revolver might be a pretty bad weapon compared to the Bow, but it helps alot to deal with T-Wolves, and we dont know if there are some of them in one of the next TFT Areas, probably yes, given how much more common blue flares are now. It made my BI/BR exploration alot less stressful, reason enough to repair it and craft more ammo, now its waiting in the Trappers locker for the next Areas Is it me or are Reishis a little less common now? Yeah, HRV is great And probably the only place i use spray paint to mark the Ice Cave entrances. I like that HRV has zero structures but so many caves, wandering around there never gets boring for me. Oh, and the point with Wildlife is another reason why i dont like AC that much. Its also almost 100% nature except for those 2 or 3 Houses in the North, but wildlife up in the plateau is sparse and wolfs are everywhere at the bottom. Deers and Rabbits are so much more common and spread out in HRV. It might not have 10000 Houses to loot, but the loot from the Cave corpses never disappoint. And it has a granted Mackinaw or Satchel, depending on difficulty. Map design is amazing as well Always been one of my favourites, just like ML and TWM.
  25. I found two on my TFT Interloper, one in a Hunters Blind in ML and another one in the Hunting Lodge in BR. Before the loot overhaul, there was always one in either one of the fishing Huts in ML, Camp Office or Milton Gas station, i dont know if those are still possible, but worth a check.
