  1. Gameplaywise its the same as throwing a blue flare, picking it up and throw again until they run, right? Weather on Interloper will be fun, Blackrock seemed to be comparable to PV weather wise. Freakin cold and lots of Blizzards. Interloper is like 10, 15 degrees colder than Stalker, and some of the buildings are broken and only partially sheltered. Might risk that 120 day interloper, but i need something to keep me entertained. For sure a good challenge, i was on the brink of death several times on Stalker. I just hope the Wolf Packs wont be as big as they are on Stalker. Having 6 Timberwolves repeatedly jump you and getting mini lags while the game saves is just annoying
  2. I usually forge in DP, since its the nearest forge to CH and thats where i always settle down. Coal is abundant in all the caves around and the Metal in Riken alone is enough for many tools and arrows. Only real downside is that its a inside forge, and all those indoor crafting hours can add to cabin fever risk. Which might require 3-hour sleeping intervals in a cave, car or snow shelter afterwards. After looting BR, theres no point in going through those wolf corridors just to forge in my opinion. FM forge is great too, less materials around compared to riken, but sufficient and its a outdoor location so cabin fever isnt a concern
  3. Yeah i love Birch Bark tea. 30% hydration, almost as much calories as a cat tail, grants warming up buff, 5% heal and is renewable. Will be very useful to get some health back there. I have my main base in CH on all saves, nearest birch bark spot is ravine (i think) but it usually yields 6-8 pieces. Im not too worried about the gas, my Stalker had no problems sprinting through and its a pretty linear corridor. My stalker has better sprint than my loper because of double exp parkas instead of bear coat, but i had like 5seconds left. I reserved a stim for that part on my loper, still have some of them left since i did TWM and Ash canyon in midgame and used only coffee for the climbs.
  4. Good tip with facing them, you saved me a nasty surprise! Like 600 Hours played in TLD and still i learn some new things in this Forum.. i knew walking backwards and facing wolves works for normal ones, but i thought T-wolves will jump and rape you regardless I have around 150 cattails in storage, could gather alot more if i visit HRV before. And enough arrows but since saplings spawn so infrequently on the CH beach, i dont want to lose more then like 10 or so. I want to see if i can survive 1000 Days in Loper Reishis for warming up + extra calories, or in case of infection? I cant recall if there is alot of lichen in Blackrock. Lots of thanks to all the People answering and giving nice Tips! Amazing community!
  5. Ahh yeah, i could test the map on another save. Ofc i wont hunt the T-wolves for fun, but they always come back like seconds after you scare them. Couldve been the extra high aggression on stalker tho. Blue flare drop + shooting them dead was how i got rid of them on stalker. But since they take a few arrows and run, that tactic looks like a bad idea in interloper. Will for sure try the torches!
  6. Really? Torches are working against them? Im feeling like a complete noob now, i thought only blue flares will keep them at bay, no red flares, torches and campfires. Always thought of them like a pack version of aurora wolves in that regard. So... if torches work, will the red flares as well? Thats a amazing tip, thanks alot! I remember the weather of blackrock being complete shit, even in stalker, having fire+torches around will surely be mandatory in loper. That would indeed make for a cheap way to handle them. I dont think im currently able to avoid them, was there only on time on Stalker. No wintermute so far. Therefor map knowledge isnt good enough...yet
  7. Yep, i usually have no Problems in killing Bears. Got Archery 5 and it takes only 1-2Shots. Still need the bear bedroll, therefore im gonna hunt at least 2 more. Its always nice to have a Plan B if things go wrong, and the best Plan B for those are flare gun shells. But theyre also required for Timberwolfs on Loper, trying to bow them looks like either suicide or a giant waste of Arrows to me. And i dont actively hunt Mooses after the first for the Satchel. Exception was the (second)one next to Mountaineers Hut in TWM, just because i can leave the Hide there in Case i want to change things up for some reason and use Bear+Moose Coat instead of double Bear. Its like 10seconds away from Shelter. Aside of that, im not gonna risk a few Arrows for 10 Days of Fishing or Cabin Fever Carry them for safety isnt necessary for hunting the bear in milton or around misanthrope, since you can backup into the cars or fishing hut. But i thought i should probably get the noisemakers as long i have Flare gun shells, since i found a single blue flare in the entire game so far. And everything else to deal with timberwolves seems either too risky or not available on interloper
  8. Alright, ive got another Question. Played my Loper again, Day 112ish now. Been everywhere except HRV (no need since i found a mackinaw in Signal+Hunting Lodge), BI for obvious reasons and Blackrock yet. Im really tempted to go Blackrock for Noisemakers, tryed them on my Stalker save and theyre fun. But unlike on my Stalker, i cant think of any other use for Gunpowder, and you still find the Mats for it on Loper. Even found a can of it in the Spence Safe. I rarely need Accelerant and Lamp Oil is a renewable Source. How hard is Blackrock in Loper? Is it advisable just for the Noisemakers? I explored the most of it in Stalker, so Noisemakers are really the only reason i'd go there (despite swearing to myself i wont visit Timberwolf Areas in Loper). The reason i want them is that i was reading they dont use a Match to ignite and they can also scare charging Bears and Mooses. And if hit properly, even kill them. Not worth for Stalker, Ammunition is much preferable imo, but they seem to be a nice tool for Interloper. I have only 8 Flare shots left and i think i would need them to deal with the Timberwolves there. Found packs of 5 of them on my Stalker save, defending was already hard enough even with Revolvers... and my Stalker had like 10 blue Flares, while i found only a single one so far on Loper. Gonna make things extra difficult. But getting a few dozens extra get-out-of-jail-cards for Bears and Moose might be worth it. What do you think? Wanted to keep every 10 Flare gun shots for this Area, but needed one for a Bear emergency, and another one since i had a Moose waiting for me down the climb in Ash Canyon...
  9. I played Green Hell alot, Craig. Its another cool Survival Game, and a little bit discounted now on Steam. You dont have to worry about the Temperature there, but it has alot of features i really like. You need to inspect your body parts in order to see whats wrong, the game just hints with a lens symbol that theres something off. Instead of Hunger and Thirst, you need hydration, protein, carbohydrates and fats. If you lack one, your maximum health and stamina gets reduced. You can build houses there and grow your own plants, also alot of crafting, and Skills like in TLD. The more fires you make, the better you get at it. Same for hitting things with a knife, axe, bow etc. It has a story mode as well, but the real fun is playing the survival sandbox. Another similarity to TLD. But it doesnt have a Custom Mode! I know that can be really important for many People. You have to select premade difficultys, and you cant adjust everything as you wish like in TLD. Being able to customize everything is something you will miss in many games, unfortunately. Another really nice feature is that theres a rainy season, and a dry saison for every 30 or 60 ingame Days. And like the wind blows out your fire in TLD, rain can put your fire out in Green Hell. For that reason its recommended to put it where rain cant reach it, just like you would want your fire be windshielded in TLD. What i also like is the Mental Health system. Things like being injured for too long, eating human meat or maggots, dont cure illnesses for too long and this kind of stuff reduce your mental health as well. And below 50/100, you start to see hallucinations. You can get the mental up again by sitting on your campfire, sleep for more then 6 hours straight. This game has alot of amazing Features! Sorting around your Items in your Backpack while Navigating, checking time and health status on your solar powered Smartwatch is a very interesting UI as well. I can recommend it, but dont expect it to be as huge as TLD is. Green Hell has by no means a small map, it will keep you busy for a while. I can only think of one Survival Game that can be as huge as TLD is, and thats Ark. But Ark is more like a RPG with survival elements, and while i enjoyed that as well, TLD is the survival game i keep coming back after every few months. Its almost perfect in my opinion. For those who want to buy it, buy it on PC! I own the game on PC, and on Switch as well. But the controls on Switch are clunky as fuck, and its not up to date yet. Edit: Sorry, went completely offtopic Im currently watching a deep stranded lets play, and its interesting but i have not played it yet. I will probably buy it as soon it becomes full release for PC. Mist Survival was showing me that i should probably better wait before buying early access games.
  10. I wasnt in HRV yet on my Loper run i still get lost there from time to time After looting milton and killing that Bear, i returned to CH. Honestly, the Bear in Milton is freekill because of all those cars and that alone is worth a trip from time to time! I dont know how to quote (yet) but Jimmy, thats surprising to hear. Are there really no possible Longjohn spawns in the Clothing Containers on Loper? Im very sure that i found some Wool Longjohns there in my Stalker run. Because of that, i thought every Clothing allowed on Loper can spawn there as well, and its completely random what one gets. Except for the one guaranteed ear wrap.
  11. Thanks everyone! I was really unlucky with Wool socks and the ear wrap, i could only think of BR lodge for another chance to get it. Thats the biggest reason why i wanted to rush the summit. I delayed it even more, wanted to have another wolf coat for that trip. Must have been around Day 45 or 50, and i found 2pairs of Wool Socks (one in 13% condition) and the wrap in about 30% condition. Either i was lucky with high condition starting spawns, or its still possible to loot the summit after nearly 2 months. Aside from various ruined food items (didnt care about it since i had cooking 5 from cooking lots of 0.2 kg meats), the only other items i recall finding ruined are sport socks.
  12. For me its Stalker. I have also a Interloper around Day 80, and while i really enjoy the extreme Cold, i dislike that i have to eat like 5kg Meat each Day just to sustain myself. I think after i completed the 500 Day achievement on my Stalker ill try a Customgame with Loot, Wildlife and Needs set to Stalker hut Weather set to Interloper. When i went back to Stalker and was suddenly able to chop some wood without freezing, i realized that i missed worrying about the Cold. Id still like to find some Snow Pants, Expedition Parkas, Climbing Socks.. yeah im a Lootwhore certainly sure that Custom games with interloper weather and stalker everything else will be my favourite TLD experience so far
  13. Bow and Arrows are no Problem, i have that since Day 9 or 10. I was more worried about the Cold without Wolf/Bear Coats and Bedroll. HRV does have a guaranteed mackinaw? Nice... i still have no 2nd Jacket and just a single Wolf pelt. Its gonna take a while until i get the Coat. I didnt dare to hunt them alot with such a little defense. The first Wolf was a easy kill, i had like 30 pieces of 0,2 kg Food in the inventory to skill cooking, and was smelly AF. That wolf went up to jackrabbit island, but i put my campfire in between the fence opening. So that Wolf just stood there waiting for a Headshot lol Maybe im too worried about that degrading but things seem to spoil really fast. When i went to gather the Cattail stalks in CH, i gathered a few Beachcombing items and there was a can of sardines in it, which lost 4% Condition the way up to the Ravine entrance. Its my first Interloper game and it feels like if im not done looting all around Day 50, every item will be ruined :D Chaos, did you pick up the technical Backpack and crampons on that Ash canyon spawn? That would be extremely fast if you picked that up AND did the summit by day 5 :D
  14. Good tip with that Shortcut, im gonna try it on this run. Thanks! Yep, i decided to wait. I have another Deer Hide left for curing, can craft the Pants after that. Looting ML while its curing, and hopefully return with a Bedroll + Lens, crafting the Pants and heading to TWM is alot safer. I think theres a Lens for granted somewhere in ML if i remember it right.
  15. Thanks alot for all the great tips, much appreciated! Especially with the Hacksaw. I accidentally did that on my last run on Stalker, i thought it doesnt matter because theres another Hacksaw up there. Well... container keeps broken forever. I was not expecting that! Hm cant decide.. was thinking about going ML too, because theres often a magnifying lens below the stoves in the fisher huts. Even better when theres a Bedroll as well. Im really lucky in this loper run, having bow, 12 arrows, deer boots on day 11. I dont think i could do this another time if i die now. Also found 2 thin wool sweaters on CH, so the only thing in TWM is the flare gun and wool ear wraps. Another Question, is the Flare gun in the ravine base available on Loper? Because that means i could get that either on the way to ML, or back to my favourite base (Jackrabbit island), depending on where i find a rope. Would be alot safer to reach, and nice to have to stop a charging bear if hunting goes wrong
  16. Yep, the Flare Shells are important too, always a Life Saver when i overheard a Sneaky bear. Thanks alot, if its not ruined after a Month, i will wait a few Days. I have the Bow in a Day and might hunt a few Wolves and 2 Bears for the Coat and the Bedroll, will make things safer. Thanks
  17. Hello all! After playing lots of Stalker and Custom games with several hundreds days survived, i felt ready to try Loper for the first time yesterday. It went surprisingly well, given that i started completely North of PV. Quickly looted through farmhouse, barns and crossing. Looted south of CH before heading to DP. Im now on Day 9, Got the hacksaw, hammer, 2 maple and 4 or 5 birch saplings are almost cured and waiting to be crafted to bow and arrows. Also 2 Rabbit hides, and 4 Deer pelts. Found a few flares and except the one i kept for an emergency, i used them after chasing deer into wolves and scaring the wolf away to get lots of meat and the pelts. I could've used torches but i didnt want to waste matches and after all the lategame Stalker play im used to having no flares anymore. To my question now: i realized things degrade extremely fast, and i have not found a Bedroll so far. Because things go bad so fast, i really want to rush the TWM summit. Is that doable without the bedroll? I always keep mats for a snow shelter with me, that saved my life in former runs dozens of times when a blizzard hits while im on a loot spree, but cold is another level in interloper. Is that warm enough to sleep in WITHOUT bedrolls around the summit? Clothing is as crap as one can expect during first loper days, tho i have found combat pants. No 2nd jacket though. Deer pants and/or boots can be made in about a day, which i wait out in DP. Sitting on like 20 kg of meat after all that chasing, thats not the problem. If that expedition isnt doable, how many days would it take for wool ear wraps and pullovers and socks to be ruined? Thanks in advance :)
