  1. Saplings don't respawn. But there are tons of them. You need to explore everything to find them. Many are in somewhat out of the way locations Being bored at 200 days is normal. There is no end game content. I usually get bored somewhere between day 100-150. And that's with being more on the move and going to every region
  2. Timberwolf Mountain down to the farm house in PV. 3 packs of matches, mag lens and hacksaw In my current game it took me way too long to get a hacksaw
  3. Cleaning up is nice. Maybe you need to think a bit more about Interloper than the lower difficulties. On lower difficulties you don't necessarily need a fire to harvest a carcass. On Interloper you do. So eventually you have campfires littering the landscape. It's really noticeable in CH. I've been confused by old campfires on the ice. At a long distance they can be mistaken for new carcasses. And it just looks bad Nice. I know there have some long standing complaints about lighting and that you've brightened some areas. Most of the times it doesn't bother me, but the barn has always stood out for me as bein exceptionally at dawn and dusk. Whereas in most other places you can see things then
  4. But keep in mind that they aren't universally enforceable. They are based on the Anglo-Saxon legal system. In some other places it's only a legal contract when you sign it when buying. Not afterwards during installation. And even in the US certain individual clauses might not be enforceable. Legally the whole thing is somewhat controversial and in many countries there haven't been definitive court decisions about it
  5. Is the barn in PV intended to be so dark? Especially in the evening when there is still some light outside, it's pitch black inside, which makes early exploration very difficult. I get that it doesn't have any huge windows, so maybe it's supposed to be dark. On the other hand it seems like there are some small windows. And other places with no windows seem a lot brighter
  6. Maybe try to go further right instead of straight down. There might be multiple ways there. But I don't know. For example when climbing down directly from the plane there are several routes and locations you can end up at
  7. You can easily goat down from the summit to the engine cave on the left side. I even did it with the bugged sprain system and only got a sprain on the very last step towards even terrain. The black patch might have been a bit to the right of my route though. Not sure When at the plane and looking towards the rope go left between the peaks. You're then facing towards the left side of the map and can climb down the mountain
  8. Probably some texture/icon not loading correctly
  9. Not just trees stumps, but rocks too
  10. You're just splitting hairs. Everyone can see what your intent was. But you didn't outright say it so you can keep arguing and attacking people. And there we go again, lying about what the most popular mods are. Of course you'll say that you only said "more" instead of "most" and that you never intended to imply anything. It's really pointless to have any sort of discourse with you, so I'll stop here
  11. It's twisting nothing. All the examples you listed are cheats. Flying. Larger inventory. Giving yourself items. I've also seen other people reduce TLD mods to cheat mods. You more than implied that all mods are like that. I haven't used the bugfix mod, but none of the other mods I've used were cheats: being able to drain storm lanterns without dismantling them. And needing to manage fuel containers (you need them to be filled and they don't vanish when empty) shorter reading intervals and saving book progress when you're interrupted free look in cars (can be disorienting, so I can see why this isn't in the game) better placement of items and allowing to move furniture a very nice lighting overhaul that adjusts light levels based on day of time and weather. Vanilla tries that too, but this was a lot more consistent and resulted in less darkness remember the breakdown item so it doesn't always default to the knife when I just want to harvest curtains remove camp fires when you take the last charcoal The one mod that came close maybe was the one that allows you to harvest cans for scrap metal. It was nice to not spend hours sawing up things, but it also made it a bit too easy to get all the scrap for arrowheads. Even then, that was a one time thing in a hundred day game. And a lesson that maybe not all things that sound nice and are realistic are necessarily good for game balance Another mod I wanted to try was to repair the broken drawers
  12. I've never used the save game editor to cheat. What I have used it for is getting back arrows. Not arrows that I've legitimately lost, but ones that definitely hit animals but got eaten by the game somehow. I even lowered their condition. That's not cheating or altering the game experience. As I said before you don't have actively to support modding in any way, and there are good reasons you don't, but bans over suggesting that someone might use a mod to address some issue they have is a huge overreaction. It was obvious that you made the code change for technical reasons though and not just to screw with people. That was a silly conspiracy theory
  13. I've used that mod in my last game. One the one hand it's nice and makes a lot of sense. On the other hand it was a bit OP maybe for forging As for a developer not wanting to deal with issues caused by mods. That's perfectly understandable. But they could just ask if people use mods and ignore bug reports caused by mods. They have every right not to support mods actively, but they don't have to fight them either. There are also developers that are fine with such bug reports. Take Factorio. And that's a small studio too. They fix a lot of bugs in systems that work fine in vanilla, but break when mods change them in ways that weren't intended. Maybe not with the same priority, but things get addressed. But they go out of their way to support modding in general, like adding stuff to the API and scripting system when requested. Or even giving some modders source code access to prepare for a new release. At the same time vanilla always priority - like them changing some names internally in a recent patch, which broke a lot of mods
  14. A toggle in the config menu for the slope indicator would be nice. It's useful, but can also be distracting. That way people could turn it on or off as they prefer I don't mind other HUD elements like scent or windshield indicators. But other stuff has been added recently like the ridiculously huge buff popups that turn it more and more into some arcade game
  15. Some people have reported weirdness, but I easily shot a deer and a even rabbit with the rifle
  16. Even in regular Interloper there is no reason whatsoever to immediately scrap your jeans for a cloth hat. Maybe in HRV. Otherwise you are never too far from shelter and other cloth sources. The only instances where you really may have to do that is stunts like spawning and staying on TWM. Otherwise I agree that it should only offer the most minimal amount of temperature protection, but just be there to prevent frostbite If you really want frostbite, go swimming and walk around with frozen boots
  17. Maybe discussing is allowed, but I got temp banned from the Steam forum for linking to one. Even then most people are wary about doing more than mentioning things
  18. Just talking about mods could get you banned from here. That's how much they don't support it It's one thing to not actively support it in the game. New updates breaking mods is completely normal even for mod friendly games. But Hinterland's over the top aversion to even unofficial mods is pretty unique
  19. Just went there to check this out (on Pilgrim). 8 storm lanterns! Maybe it's more difficulty based now. The weapons container has tons of pistol ammo. That seems to be the only change Nice new textures on the containers though And I almost goated down from the summit without spraining. On the last small jump from the rockface to snow it got me But nothing on the almost vertical section before
  20. I'm not sure if you fixed it properly. According to the video you've increased the slope angle before you get sprains. Yet people are reporting sprains in even more ridiculous locations than before. Less, but more costly sprains is great. But that doesn't seem to be how it is right now
  21. There is quite a bit of nonsense in that post, like all the added maps not being good. But the game really needs some end game content. You can tell that it originally wasn't meant to be played for long. Survival started as a testbed for story mode and then took on a life of its own. But even with all the additions the basic gameplay loop hasn't been touched at all. The start of the game is awesome when you really struggle and fight for every scrap. Forging your tools, weapons and basic clothing is a nice accomplishment. On Interloper there is a nice race against the world getting colder. That's where the replayability of the game is. But then you completely stabilize and it becomes a grind. Yeah, some people have hundreds of days, but realistically there is enough content for maybe 100-150 days. And the end of that is already repetitive. I don't really know how to combat that. Making things even scarcer and colder isn't going to change anything. I've seen some suggestions like monster blizzards a la Whiteout. Or animal migration across maps to keep you on the move. Some larger scale events to shake up the routine. Some basic base crafting options like repairs to structures or building boxes/shelves for storage would be nice too.
  22. Mhh, just running around a bit and got some sprains mountain goating. Treating a sprain with a bandage is still instant healing. I thought it would be bandage + time. Also, disabling sprinting when you're in pain would be more of an incentive to actually treat it The revolver is surprisingly difficult to find on Pilgrim. I just want to take a few shots without playing a real game
  23. Finally a use for birch bark A nice that you took the complaints about sprains seriously after dismissing them for a while. They were way too common, but at the same time far too trivial to deal with
  24. If you really want to tease us you could release the patch notes now I decided to wrap up my 100 day Interloper run. I originally wanted to do more like craft a bear skin coat (should have done that way sooner) and visited BR (last region I hadn't been to). But it was getting grindy anyways. Clothing could have been better, but it wasn't really much of a challenge anymore.
  25. I don't mind the outdoor corpses, but the guy in the camp office is really annoying
