  1. I know we've heard this before and it won't happen due to Raph's vision of the TLD, but wouldn't it be great to have a Custom setting for PD?  Suits all players, IMO.  After all, there was a conscious decision made to not have PD in Wintermute.

Last time I got close, upper 400 hours, I fell off a dang cliff cuz my fingers were not on the right spot on the keyboard, so this was a LONG time coming for me!

    Well done!  Feels good, huh?

Congrats... Still working on getting to 500 myself. Almost made 200 over the christmas break, but died to a faulty controller when it didnt register the trigger pull as I desperately tried to shoot a charging wolf.

Surreeee...blame it on the controller ;)

It really does depend on the person, though.

My first death was after over 100 days (confession: I genuinely didn't know you could have more than one game simultaneously for the first while). It broke my heart, affected me way more deeply than is reasonable for that kind of thing; I felt a real sense of loss for several days. To me, that shows the depth of immersion and just how much that first game meant to me. Being able to experience such a profound emotion from a videogame is amazing, and a real credit to TLD. I love permadeath and wouldn't change it for the world.

I agree 100%, which is why I said, "For some players".

  5. This thread, I believe, helps to highlight some of the disadvantages of perma-death (PD).  IMHO, a game should be something fun, which you enjoy and want to play more of.  For some players, PD inhibits this.  I'll give my father as an example.  He's in his upper 70s and I've been trying really hard to get him into TLD.  He's been playing more recently, and has died a couple times.  He gets pretty upset at losing his progress (in particular getting some good clothes) and I try to encourage him and emphasize this is a game of "learning".  Not sure how many more times I can convince him of this before he stops playing.

For me, they do still decay while inside and curing. Nothing I mind too much, just something to be aware of.

Does the same occur with other animal types?

@Admin Can you confirm this bear hide decay is intended?

You can detach ropes from a rock. Been this way since they added ropes.

You can detach other ropes and move them elsewhere... . In most cases it's best to put them back though after you've finished with them.

Has anyone else noticed this?   I was in the birch area in twm when I heard a wolf growling /eating.. expecting a fresh deer I chased him off to find a frozen carcass instead....  It's the first time I've seen that..is it new or have I missed something?

    Can't recall seeing this behavior.

Thank you very much for the advice :3. But I had another problem with finding, this time the key and note for the hiding place. While exploring the valley of a quiet river, I discovered a locked suitcase (cache) in the “cave on the top” (next to the lake near the monolith). I had no idea where to look for the key, so I started looking for information on the wiki. It said that, quote: "note and key found atop the lower rope climb beneath Pensive Vista." I searched near the cables: near the first and near the second. But I didn't find anything! Maybe I was looking at the wrong cables? If anything, I have attached a piece of a map with the marked cables I was looking for. Can you please show where this key is located by marking its location on the map. Or just tell me where to go to find the key. Thanks in advance :3

Should be found (if I recall) on the upper rope-attach rock.

I feel like it added more questions but didn't answer any. The logs are frustratingly vague. I prefer tension from concepts that I know are a threat/problem/danger/etc and not tension from just not knowing WHAT you are supposed to be concerned about. I assume more details will come in later Tales.

    I felt the same way.
