but active markers are contrary to the way mapping works in survival.
What about spray paint?

I found a video on how bullet casings are made here's the link:
so I'm sure there's a marking on the rod to tell what type of caliber/mm you are pressing
Here's another. Little more detailed and shows what an exacting process it is. https://www.petersoncartridge.com/technical-information/drawing-brass/

Not even if you get some charcoal out and map it - I just checked. That'd be way too easy for TLD!
It's a portable piece of gear, not an orienteering point like the rock cache.
The rock cache's main purpose is to store gear. Not much different from the travois so I could certainly see a map marker for it as well.

Found it. Ended up dropping it at drift island
I haven't made one yet, but when deployed, does it show up on the map?

Mixing 2 ingredients together to make gunpowder and a press are fairly simple mechanics, but taking molten brass and re-forming it into a precisely measured casing is something else entirely. Then again, currently, we don't need to worry about primers when reloading...

Depends when you bought the game and played WM. HL did a Redux version of it some years back.

I have looted every nook and cranny in ML map on my current run and i have to admit - the amount of maple saplings got tweaked. I never ever found that many in ML alone - about 14 i believe. Crazy. I think its too much.
Since they are a required ingredient of the travois (and the bow!) and they are finite, I'd rather HL give us too many vs too few. I can see people running out of them then complaining they can't make the travois anymore.

Hmm. We can make improvised, IMPROVISED crafting like arrowheads, knife and hatchet, led for ammunition using the tools we have and the knowledge. I doubt someone could make the casings tho. Not in the conditions we have in game.
Agreed. Re-forming the casings would require specialized machinery which is not currently in the game.
Not sure what difficulty you play on but there is usually an abundance of ammo.

Thanks for the update. It's been a great year!

In your experience, can you conceivably find 10 birch saplings in this region?
I'm pretty sure I got them all; unfortunately, I don't remember where I got them or how many I got. I do know there were a lot more maple saplings. You could always hop over to FA to grab some extra for arrows.
Also, if you want full spoilers, there is a map here.

maybe need to go off the beaten path a bit more to locate those other elusive saplings
Don't forget, your map (charcoaled areas) will show you where there are unharvested resources (doesn't always work so well with Reishi - some tend to show on map even after harvested).

One more slightly irritating "stuck" situation ...
Someone needs to make a revised version of this 😆

I don't see it being practical to be able to craft them - way too many complex materials/parts.
I would like to be able to detach (and reattach) them from their wall mount and have them function as a normal lantern.

Yes the story seems to be going to Perseverance Mills while the survival tales are now in Langston mine. I just wonder if those are two stews brewing separately or there is any connection.
I don't think HL would attempt to link Wintermute to Tales since Tales is paid DLC.

It's strange that we're all getting different maps.

I've had that happen before, too.
Same. It would be neat if you actually saw the animation of the wolf munching on it (like a deer or rabbit) until it's gone.

Speaking about the main topic, I haven't got the poisoned affliction just yet. How do the stims help in this situation? Do they reduce the time it takes to heal back, or do they just add 15% max condition back? If so, how much time do they cut off from the recovery process?
One stim will completely remove one application of the affliction. In my case, it took a total of 2.

Because chemical boots aren't repairable, I run through chemical spills in bare feet.
I found a total of 3 pairs - each around 60% condition. I wore them quite a bit and they hardly decayed. Seeing as how this is the only zone in which they are useful, I'd say use 'em!

I think the OP was referring to transponder sites, not bunkers. Admittedly, it is odd the Undiscovered one is there - perhaps for a next Part?
