Does the Fishing Bait have a Scent?

In my head, I feel like it should, but I can't find any sort of confirmation either way. Anyone?

Had 10 baits in my backpack, no scent increase.

I guess it requires alot of them to increase your scent or perhaps it doesn't even increase at all.

Actually im sure that they do have scent but it doesnt show on the interface. It does attract nearby wolves if you have it in inventory and you cant use drop decoy to get rid of them fast. interloper, xbox.

I don't know about you guys, but the scent mechanic always seemed glitched to me. If I'm carrying 1 piece of cooked bear meat somehow wolves just start popping out of nowhere. After playing with it for a while, I noticed that it was significantly worse with cooked bear meat. With that being said, maybe the scent mechanic is bugged altogether and that's why it seems inconsistent.

They do. It’s small but I have noticed that it sort of follows the rule of 3 I would have some bait didn’t matter the amount, a pie or 2 cooked meat and I’d get scent maker, drop the bait maker goes away

The scent interface only shows if you drop and pick up the bait (atleast 3 pieces). I did drop a bait from the inventory to distract a wolf, but it seems wolves aren't interested.

Almost got wolfed by forgetting 4 ruined fish bait in my inventory. Got up in the morning opened the door at the fish camp on Coastal with a wolf heading straight for me. No scent indication either.

Even when you have no scent bars, when you’re carrying anything meat related, it’s best to assume that you’re ALWAYS smelly .
