Are bunkers still a thing?

I've been looking around YouTube as I just started learning how to play this game, and I bumped into a video from a couple years ago I talked about finding a bunker in mystery Lake. So I look and I see that there is a Wiki and it has the longer there, but I still haven't heard of or seen any new content with bunkers involve? Are those still something that exists in this game? I know that they're supposed to randomly spawn? But not really sure how it all works.

I've come in contact with bunkers in pleasant valley. (because wintermute!) Haven't seen them in other maps yet, but I only explored moderately lower portions of the global map.

As far as i know, bunkers don't 'spawn'.

Yes! Bunkers do spawn! They are present in the Mystery Lake and Pleasant Valley regions. These "preppers caches" have different themes of loot, such as food, hunting or firewood, but only one cache spawns per region in one of ~8 locations. The cache looks like a hatch from atop, but once you go inside, their is always a bed, lots of containers, and lots of loot. Then sadly never have a firebox. In Pleasant  valley there is a cache that will always spawn in the same location in addition to the random location one. This cache is "abandoned" and has little loot. This cache spawns by the TWM rope. On interloper, caches do not spawn (but the abandoned one does).

Also, if you're tired of looking for it, there are many maps on the web of the region which show possible spawn locations.

Loper games won’t have prepper’s cache bunkers, except for the abandoned one by the rope to TWM.  
All other settings will have bunkers!

my latest game had the weapons bunker near the top of the rope to signal hill in pleasant valley.  Serious score!  

most if not all bunkers will have a can of gun powder!  So very worth finding.  It can take some looking though!  A couple games back, I searched every location in ML until I found the “firewood” cache in a last place possible.

I recommend you to find it yourself, you'll fell a lot of satisfaction when you'll find it. 

They spawn in remote areas (usually corners of the map) it is worth to look for them
