Pixel
Another question of mnie that concerns The Long Dark this time. Can you bring back the invisibility of distant land like before (at the beginning)? It should not be forced but optional, to my mind. I do prefer the old way. For me, that update was like turning Oblivion game (that had the option to turn it off/on) into Skyrim, which lacks the option and the distant land (ugly or beautiful) has to be rendered whether you want it or not. Sad, especially because there is no mod that can ever change it because of the engine limitations. Thanks. Edited July 21, 2019 by Pixel
Admin
Split this off and created a new topic. It’s not really a question but more a feature request and thus belongs here in the Wish List sub-forum.

hozz1235
Like a "View Distance" slider setting?
ManicManiac
I can't imagine why anyone would want a shorter view/drawing distance... (I mean other than having older hardware that can't manage it) Edited July 30, 2019 by ManicManiac

(I mean other than having older hardware that can't manage it) The Display and Quality settings in the main menu give us plenty of things to adjust if we do have an older system that can't handle it, or if people want to, by choice, limit FOV, draw distances, shadow distances and quality... The OP should explore the Options menu, perhaps, and see if they can find a combination of settings that suits what they want to see on their screen. No one has to play with all xxx default settings if they do not want to.

No one has to play with all xxx default settings if they do not want to. There is no such setting in the game that would make it look as in previous versions of the game. If I turn the sliders down, it looks even worse. There are many people that would like the ugly distance off. This is a big issue in Skyrim, for instance: "Unfortunately, Skyrim has always looked like shit from afar. uGrids and LOD mods help, and of course stuff that can blur out the distance like fog/clouds/DOF. But a crystal clear view in Skyrim that extends for miles is just...going to look like shit, sadly" Hopefully, the Long Dark can get some graphical upgrade in the future (for the new generation of consoles).
