  1. I'm curious why they changed them to spawning at anything other than 100* as they don't degrade over time, and the condition doesn't affect whether they work or not. Is anybody else bothered by the fact that we can't stack all our matches now? I hope they either revert them to being at 100*/not having a condition at all, or make it so the condition can affect them in some way, by either degrading until ruin, or lower condition ones having a chance to fail based on condition.
  2. That's one of the coolest things I've ever seen, the snow is so perfect, that it looks fake.
  3. If you have the DLC, all of the variant rifles always spawn, the best one IMO spawns at coastal Highway, just look up Barb's rifle so you can get the spawn points.
  4. @TonyInPleasantValley It's a really productive way to spend the time, although I'd advise against storing anything that decays with time inside of a container, as if they happen to hit 0 condition while inside the container they'll just disappear. Another good way to chew through a few hundred days is both mapping, and also doing signal void, and the new tale if you haven't already. I've just now completed buried echoes at around day 160, and even though I have my day length set to x2, I was rushing once I started working on the tales, especially the new one, as The Zone was extremely nerve-wracking for me. Where I'm at now, I have basically every area settled, except Bleak Inlet, Black Rock, and The Muskeg. Some bases are only stocked with water and about 20kg meat, while others have over 100 L of water and 100kg of meat. I just really like having all of my bases extremely over stocked, and while I used to keep an inventory list, I started just keeping a certain number of each item at a base, then hauling the rest back to my "home".
  5. Congratulations, that's no small feat. Everybody has a different style of play, but the most effective way to set yourself up for success is to have a home base in one of the more central regions, then spend the time to set up satellite bases in each region, usually one each, but sometimes more. Moving the necessities around becomes much easier when it's from one base to another, instead of while you're out looting. I have most of my satellite bases set up with at least a month's worth of food, and water, plus whatever tools are needed in that region, like a hammer near forges, or a hacksaw where you wanna gather lead, or scrap metal.
  6. There are 6 transmitter towers in total, the last two don't lead to bunkers, but to transponder caches instead.
  7. Do you remember what prepper cache it was, not the area, but like the type? There's a hunting themed one, one with food, and I forget the last one.
  8. There's a few that don't lead to bunkers, like the one near Hibernia, that lead to transponder caches. If you look up the transmitters, I think the wiki may list them all.
  9. Has anybody else noticed cured hides decaying since the update, or am I just crazy? Something seems different now, and I can't figure it out. I used to take 99% of my hides indoors immediately, so most of them would be at 100*, even after curing, but now it seems that either they're decaying more while curing, or they continue to decay afterwards. I'm going to have to pull a specific one out for a few days to watch it, in case I need to double back to every base to get all my hides out of containers and onto the floor.
  10. Lol, I'm right there with you man, I'd happily support more paid DLC for the next decade, or even two.
  11. There's one more region being added out there, Mountain Pass I believe, and that's when the cougar is coming too!
  12. Are you playing on a different day length, like x2, x3, or x4?
  13. You guys have my praise again, I've been waiting months for that series s fps fix! This update looks to be loaded to the brim, seriously good job, you've really outdone yourselves with this one.
  14. Yeah, everytime I get something down to .10, if I try cooking with it it says .09, and won't let me use it.
  15. I think my main advice would be to not get into the mindset of settling in somewhere until either the late game, or maybe mid game. What's worked out the best for me has been to spend the early game traveling, looting, and consolidating that loot into one or two "bases" in the region. Then I move on and do the same for basically every region, setting up a one or two, sometimes even three regional bases. I try to spend less than two weeks really setting up each area, keeping track of notable tools, and how much food and water there is in each. Then when I finally finish that process for each region, I'll make another pass through that's much more thorough, finishing up my cartography, and getting at least a month's worth of food and water set up for my eventual return. That sets you up to be able to move around the map much more stress free, and to be able to rotate around the map hunting, and gathering what resources are left. From that point you can comfortably do signal void, and any other little personal quest you really want to, I enjoy the late game so much, even if it gets a little dull at times.
  16. At this point it's really hard to not be upset, I love this game dearly, it's my favorite survival game, even though I didn't get enough time to really even finish one run. It's just so wild to me that they're constantly talking about all this new stuff, when there's major things to be fixed still. I don't care how long it takes for me to get new content, even though I paid for it, I will wait happily. I do however mind very much how long it takes to fix major bugs that are preventing me from playing, I shouldn't be made to feel like anything less than a paying customer, regardless of the console I play on, but this whole thing just makes me feel left to the wayside, and like I paid for something that I didn't get to use. They only just fixed the journal on Xbox though, since release, so I doubt we're going to be given any type of timeframe, and it will likely be upwards of a year, if ever, to be able to play again. It's a really bogus situation, and I've now been unable to play the game 6x longer than I was able to play.
  17. Still no word on fixing fps on Series S, aside from it being an issue with Unity? I haven't been able to play for about 6 months, it's hard to even be excited for any new stuff, when the game runs so poorly on Series S. At this point I just wish I could have a refund, and maybe just buy it all again at a later date, when the game is actually fixed. I bought the game plus Tales right before The Frontier Cooking update, because I believed in you guys and wanted to support you, but only got to play for maybe two weeks before that update made the game run like absolute garbage. It's so bad on Series S, it went from uncapped FPS to being lucky to pull 20. I really just feel robbed honestly, I spend a lot of time researching games before I buy them to make sure it's something I can play for a long time, and it seemed like things were going good, and big bugs were being fixed, but I guess not.
  18. Can't believe series s fps still hasn't been fixed, this is crazy. I keep checking back hoping that its been fixed, but it's been over a month and a half now, with it being close to the top of the known bugs list as well. I guess I chose the wrong time to try to really get into this game, and to show my support by buying the whole game plus dlc, won't be making that mistake ever again. Sadly, I think I'm done, I won't be supporting this studio any further.
  19. I just don't understand this at all, the game was running really good on series s before this whole update. Now it runs at like 20 fps, and of course the one console I have is the only one that got shafted by this update. I normally don't care about fps too much, but low fps in this game makes it very unplayable, it gives me migraines and makes me really nauseous. I would rather have waited for the big update, and keep playing without frontier cooking, than having this released in the state it is. There needs to be more bug testing, open an experimental version and let people test it for you without pay if that's the prime concern. And if you're worried about leaks of new things make people sign an NDA before playing said experimental version. I don't mind waiting for content, as long as I'm actually able to use the product I paid full price for. What I do mind is my game being forced into an unplayable state, and then not being able to play for well over a month, especially when I got maybe 2 or 3 weeks to play after purchasing. It's just sad to see my all time favorite game to play, being so mismanaged, it's just irritating. I was so happy to support and sing praise to hinterland, but it's crazy for a company that's been doing this for this long to make these mistakes. I'm getting real close to just asking for a refund, and never looking back.
  20. I've had a lot of patience, how long is it going to take to just bring the fps option to xbox series s, it's working on literally everything else.
  21. I usually try not to complain, but the 30 FPS in this game gives me migraines and makes me nauseous. Sadly I've had to shelf the game not long after buying it, hoping that the fix wouldn't take long, but it's been quite some time and this game is slowly falling into my backlog. Being away from a save for so long makes me forget the story and character I've created, and it's already been long enough that I'll probably have to restart for immersion purposes anyways. I just feel like I didn't get time to really enjoy the game before that update made it unplayable for me, I even overlooked losing some unique items when trappers safe got reset because of it. I'm getting a very melancholy and depressed feeling from just watching myself lose interest in this truly beautiful and artistic game. I mean it's giving me time to clear up my backlog, but my backlog consists of really immersive experiences that are going to end up taking this game's place. The hollow feeling of unfinished business, coupled with having to start over because of things outside of my control just really blows. I know it's just a video game, but I enjoy the escape and mental stimulation. This whole situation just feels badman. Hopefully they can give console players a little more love in the future.
  22. I really appreciate you guys, it kind of sucks that people far more talented than I didn't even get accepted, because all they really need is 1 really good QA person!! I was low-key pretty bummed about it, and then the whole fps options not being there on series S and not getting fixed with the hotfix kind of killed the game for me. I really dislike being away from a save for too long, as it kills all the immersion of that character for me, but I can't deal with the fps drop, it gives me migraines. Here's hoping they can figure it out soon, before I end up getting into something else as my main game until Starfield hits and really consumes my life.
  23. Update...... They said no 😭 Hopefully they get some better testers though tbh, because a lot of those bugs and glitches were immediately noticeable, not like low-key stuff that's easily missed, but literal screeching rabbits on loop, bears phasing between dimensions, Astrid suddenly having emphysema, and interiors failing to load. Feels like the testers didn't play the game whatsoever, and just ran it through some basic protocol on the testing program they use.
  24. There's also been some type of corruption happening when changing from exterior to interior locations. Like you'll go inside of a house and it'll say "Failed to load interior" or something along those lines, and it has a really high chance of corrupting your whole save. I think it has something to do with how they layered in the new loot, especially in areas that have already been looted. I read that on discord and a couple other places and decided that I'll wait until it's fixed. I know death is inevitable, for the most part, but I refuse to lose hundreds of hours to anything other than my own poor choices, lbvs.
  25. Yeah, there's not even an option to change it on series S, and there's supposed to be. I play on a medium sized older 1080 TV, so 4k isn't even an option for me. But I prefer smoother frames over higher fidelity anyways, nowadays if a first person game isn't 60FPS I can't even play it, the eye strain is too much. Now I know why my eyes are so bad, all those older game systems running at 30 or lower really did some damage, lol. I'm just waiting for the hotfix on console, while I play some other games I've put off. Hunt Showdown is really grabbing my interest right now, that game is in its own genre, I've never played anything like it, even though I'm super garbage, lol.
