  1. Another instance for me- when I'm backpacking or staying in outdoor spaces, I always have an ear out for wildlife. For a couple summers now, I've worked at a summer camp that had me housed in a tent by myself. It was a little farther from everyone else's tents, and the closest to our camp lake. Moose were very common in this area, and apparently they love water. So some nights, one would walk behind my tent and splash around in it. Kept me up because deep down I wanted that satchel... and was a little scared- in a healthy way and a someone-who's-played-TLD kind of way
  2. I've seen man-made foods (canned stuff, chips, sodas, etc) get referred to under an umbrella term like "junk or processed food", opposed to the stuff you hunt/gather (fish, cattails, meat)
  3. Sometimes I call aurora wolves “spicy wolves”, I’m not sure if that’s widely used though 😅
  4. Only found one so far, in the terminal in FA on a brand new gunloper run
  5. Got the chance to use the travois for the first time in practice today. Hauled a whole bear from Misanthrope’s to Jackrabbit, I loaded a few quarter bags as well as some un-bagged meat, and all the guts. I didn’t notice any scent bars and the wolves did not care. Tbh they were a ways away, but I was still relieved because after hearing other people experiences I was nervous I’d get swarmed.
  6. Yes, I feel like they used to hold up to the point I never worried about hide decay before. Wouldn't be shocked if they changed it during the update. For me, they do still decay while inside and curing. Nothing I mind to much, just something to be aware of.
  7. I’ve been spending a lot of time inside in the last few weeks (I’m an outdoors person and it sucks 🥲) but the few times I have been out i accidentally get excited cause I think it will reduce my “cabin fever risk”
  8. I did this oil painting back in the spring for a class. I wanted to share it on here earlier but realized I made the can in front way smaller than it should be 🫠 Now after a few months I don’t care as much. Plus there still parts I definitely love, so here it is! Final vvv
  9. Thankfully the decay stopped when it fully cured. I think I was just scared I’d have a repeat of my old save. Carrying it around was definitely not helping, will definitely have to stop doing that! Thanks all for the info
  10. Hey, I'm a new-ish interloper trying to craft the bearskin coat. It's almost day 40 and I'm just trying to obtain some higher quality clothing items before day 50. Around day 30 I spent a week in PV (you don't realize just how cold that region is until interloper my god) and while there got myself a bear hide (with the goal to craft the coat). With the cold and all I didn't feel I was equipped to stay to get my second hide. I even stuck around searching for one for a few days but eventually gave up and ended up moving to Trappers to hunt my second hide. (I had hunted bear there in previous saves, so I felt I'd be more comfortable doing it there) I did take my original hide with me from PV with the goal to craft the coat in Trapper's, once I killed and cured my second hide. When I left, the hide was around 60% in condition, and 65% cured. At this point, I'm in Trapper's and I've got my second hide. The only thing is my PV hide is decaying a lot, now at 14% and 99% cured. I've had this problem before with another Interloper save where the first bear hide decayed to 0% while I was still looking for another (died before I got it). My question is can I craft with a 0%, fully cured bear hide? And is there a way I can prevent hide decay in the future? Thanks!
  11. This sounds huge! I'm especially excited for the new cooking recipes! I have one question: will players be able to go back and forth between new and old versions to play their old saves using the time capsule or once you make the switch is all said and done? Appreciate everyone at Hinterland for working on this, really an amazing team of people ❤️
  12. Worked like a charm! Thanks so much everyone!
  13. Thanks yall, I will try this today and let you know how it goes!
  14. no noise maker, and the area is too steep/small to place a fire
