  1. Pretty sure I could take out this sitting duck, but I'd never get up there for the carcass...or get that arrow back... 😕
  2. Thanks for the replies, all! I've since learned the magic of goating partway down a rock/boulder face (risking a sprained ankle) and shooting from there. Finished off a moose in ML after he charged, ran up around the back of the rock I was hanging off, got to the top, and looked down at me, yelling, but couldn't reach me. 😜 >>>-------> ɯ-O_O-ɯ That, and certain porch railings sill appear to be effectively force-fields. Thank again!
  3. Has anyone done a survey of the weight of crafted items versus the weight of the items used to make them? Not looking to be critical of in-game versus real-world values, but I know it makes more sense to carry around Prepared Rose Hips (0.05kg) than it does the 24 Rose Hips (0.24kg) it takes to make them, and carrying Rose Hip Tea (0.10kg, versus the PRH's 0.05kg and the 0.25kg of water it takes to make it) makes the most sense of all **BUT** it makes more sense to carry around 3 Lichens (at 0.03kg) than it does the Wound Dressing they make (at 0.10kg). Is there a list of all the stuff you can make versus what it's made from to help with weight management planning?
  4. THIS. This is exactly what I was trying to say, and, now that *you've* posted this, I can hear the sarcasm in your original posts above. I *totally* missed it before. Sorry.
  5. Agreed, but surely that's not something to call "Interloper difficulty", is it? Say that you're playing a custom difficulty, or say that you're using mods to make it easier that Interloper is ordinarily, but don't do those things then say (because of your changes to the game) that "Interloper is easy".
  6. But, no guns in Interloper, so it's "Interloper", right? All you've said is that people can use extraordinary means to make the game easier, but at that point, they're not playing the "real" game on Interloper any more, no matter what the screen might say, are they?
  7. Um... no guns in Interloper, so that can't be Interloper... right?
  8. What I've found to work for those transitional arrows/caves/etc. is to walk towards them until you get the "Leave Mountain Town" or whatever they say, then immediately *turn around* and take your charcoal sketch. I've not had one *not* show up since I've done it this way...
  9. And Silent Hunter rolled in mid-day on day 51, so... not broken (as far as I can tell), just a little off in tracking sometimes. Enjoy!
  10. So, I just got Living off the Land yesterday on Day 47. Not sure what I did to screw things up on Day 22, but there ya go. Silent Hunter shows 46 out of 50, so that seems to have caught up somehow. Whatever. Gonna likely skip the guns for a while after that anyway...I have broken ribs to heal (and a satchel to make). 😁
  11. If my experience means anything, it will just become unusable. I unknowingly picked up a ruined bedroll and found that, while I could lay it out, I could not sleep in it. Had to hoof it halfway across the basin to the truck at the base of the falls instead of stay in my cave. ( With just that info, can anyone guess where I was? 🙂 )
  12. We're gonna need a bigger mug...
  13. That was me. 🙂 We argued that it couldn't possibly count, but maybe it does. 😕
  14. And now I'm on day 33 without firing a gun of any kind the whole time and Silent Hunter is still at 27 days. 😕
  15. I recently started a Voyageur game with the intent of earning three Achievements at once: Pacifist, Silent Hunter, and Living off the Land. I just got Pacifist, but my LotL says 15 days where I *know* I've eaten nothing but cattails, deer (that I harvested myself, not found in a fridge or freezer) and water. Is there something broken with this achievement? Is there a way to read my save file and see when it thinks I ate something not-compatible with the LotL achievement?
  16. I thought Interloper was already cold enough that you had to heat indoors. Have I heard incorrectly? In any case, Custom is what you're looking for if you don't find Interloper challenging enough.

    Horse

Looking forward to crafting a wolf-skin saddle already... 🏇
  18. Too late. (That's why I was asking.) 🙂 Logically, it makes sense for it to NOT count. We'll see, Thanks!
  19. I know the Living Off the Land achievement text mentions "consuming calories" and water has no calories, but I've also read that consuming found meat (oven/fridge/freezer) versus harvested meat will count against the achievement, so I've got to ask... do found water bottles (versus water you've melted and boiled yourself) count against the Living Off the Land achievement?
  20. I had not, because I know better 🙂, but there should seriously be some other access mechanisms for things like this. If I was starving/freezing to death and that store had a locked door, I'm pretty sure I'd find a way through a window somewhere. I might cut myself in the process, but that'd be the cost for getting in without a key or a prybar.
  21. Tangled with a wolf outside Carter Dam (had just returned from the Ravine and SURPRISE!) and, bloodied and yelping, it ran right into a rock and disappeared. 😲
  22. Oh yeah, I know Mountain Town pretty well. I was all over that place... no prybars to be found. Oh well.
  23. Oh! Just my luck, I also had no rope spawn in the Ravine... gonna have to snag the one by the cabins in Mystery Lake and go back *there* as well. 😕
