  1. Well you sure don’t like any of my ideas 😢🥲 Can’t say I didn’t try You don’t like the pipe gun idea, but it’s a great idea lol!
  2. I second that! I’m going to have to try and find some artwork along those lines…. Currently BLK is my favorite stomping ground and the extensive transition zone adds quite a bit of depth to the experience. Perhaps they will be adding an extensive transition to the final map as well. Side bar- I got the impression from the last episode that PM is directly tied to the Aurora through an experiment gone wrong. Any insights?
  3. I believe you are correct on both counts. That being said, government researchers working in conjunction with military is nothing uncommon; as to the location…. Look up the Gemini Observatory (NSF) on the big island of Hawaii, that would be a good visual for a govt funded array and proximity to civilization. Or even closer to home, the HAARP array in Alaska near Glenallen.
  4. Yes! But remember, just like Honolulu the means to the mainland is by sea or air. Not necessarily a hard top road. That’s part of what makes it a strategic location. And we’ve been given hints that the Mills was insulated from the electromagnetic disturbance. And that possibly PM is where the disturbance originated. “Wintermute” being the code word Jeremiah told McKenzie to use when he found Atwood in PM. And McKenzie questions Jeremiah multiple times about his military knowledge, with Jeremiah being extremely evasive…
  5. Same question. I just tried to update my switch and it says I have the current version….
  6. Sounds reasonable, or BI style with a town. But through the story mode I’ve gotten more of a military feel. Like how Honolulu has a military base next to the city. It’ll have to be coastal with a military/industrial feel and maybe base housing style residences. Mills?? Is it a lumber mill with a radio tower?? Either way, I’m chomping at the bit for episode 5 and the final update!
  7. So, just found out I can shoot cans with the handgun today, not the Bow however. But the arrows do stick in trees and bears and stay there. Just another small attention to detail that HNTRLND added that I’d missed up until today. Any other small interactions that I may have missed?? New that you’ve noticed??
  8. “Last Watch” “ Final Watch” or, “Forgot to set my alarm again”
  9. Making fun of a guy without glasses, ouch 😎🥲
  10. I know it’ll be another 4 years and all 🤣😂🥲😢😩 but I’m excited to see what the “Perseverance Mills” map turns out to be… A one stop shop map??? Maybe, probably not though lol But if I could pick two unaltered and adjoining maps - BI and FM. Those two maps have access to everything. For all difficulty levels.
  11. So how to answer this question? If I only had 1 map and no changes allowed? Because that makes a big difference. 1 map on interloper? Or one map where firearms can spawn? That’s makes a huge difference? Or just which map do I like the most and what to tweak? 1 map on interloper without changes would be either DP or BR. Need the forge to succeed BR has the sweet hunting lodge, but no where to fish which stinks. 1 map on stalker without changes would be the prison. What did we agree on for the name, BLK? I can’t remember the other post…… 1 map I could change? Ash canyon. I love the climbing but it’s pretty devoid of anything useful. Once your in the upper levels the trees are growing and it’s gorgeous. If HNTRLND would outfit the mine or mining camp with a forge and ammo bench, and add a fishing hut next to the cabin in the valley…..
  12. I appreciate your point of view, You’re suggesting a huge arrow essentially. Limited use, shaft breaks then is harvested and repaired? That’s fine. However, the point about an inexperienced survivor; add another book to research/make your crafting ability contingent on the archery books, etc. Or make the spear require being found first to unlock the plans. Like in wintermute. Or the plans for noise makers in blackrock. Repairing it during the Aurora isn’t necessarily easy in interloper…. It would require surviving that long 🤣 And on the subject Down another rabbit hole… if we can craft ammo, why not a firearm?
  13. Perhaps that’s why it hasn’t been implemented yet. The animation for the spear bear struggle already exists, it would require an incredible amount of additional coding to implement it for moose, as well as adding it to the Wolf struggle. And no option for throwing, melee weapon open.
  14. So the clothing items require cutting and sewing, reasonably taking a long time to craft. A bow is a more reasonable comparison with the sapling cure time. Fashioning a spear shaft in real life really doesn’t take long, and forging the spear head would be comparable to the crafted axe. Realistically, the bulk of the crafting time should be in obtaining and curing the wood; obtaining needed coal and metal, and forging. And why not be able to repair it with a whetstone? Or scrap metal and the mill during an Aurora? In my opinion…..
  15. The ballistic vest isn’t all that useful either. It’s just an overly heavy burden in survival mode. And yet, it’s still there. IMO (lol) The spear would be especially useful for interloper, given that there are no rifles. Plus, it’s just plain fun 🤷🏻‍♂️
  16. I think BARK is appropriate for the sheer number of Timberwolf packs roaming the region…. Why not BLK?
  17. Yes, it sounds like it. I have gained access into the ammo workshop during the aurora, and once opened it stays unlocked. Have you tried saving and completely closing out the game then restarting, and yes, waiting for another aurora to "enter" the code again? Did you keep the note from the mine in your inventory? I know that it doesn't let you enter the specific code, just interact with the keypad. But if you kept the note from the mine in your inventory it should've allowed you to open the door.
  18. 🤦🏻‍♂️ oh, right… I’ve been searching for coal this whole time 😂😂😂😂
  19. Annnnnnd I quoted you in another post, but, you NEED to visit the mine for coal.
  20. Yes…. And on that note, make sure to load up with coal while you’re in the mine, it’s pretty sparse throughout the rest of blackrock it seems. You’ll need it for the furnace in the ammo workshop.
  21. Also quite a few issues on switch. I’m not getting the trouble messages for interactions. Like trying to use the ammo bench without a fire. Or trying to read a book after reading skill level 5. Just the audible “clack” with no information bar.
  22. I don’t believe they included the shut off valve, I made the sprint with plenty to spare the second time. i would recommend offloading some supplies that can be picked back up later (like firearms, timber pieces, heavy clothing, etc.) this makes the run faster with the lighter weight, easily doable without the valve. i would also recommend playing the episode beforehand. …there seem to be members in the community who haven’t been past episode two… but it would behoove to get the practice runs in before survival mode attempts.
  23. Take the rope at Fool’s Corner, then head left in the ravine and stick to the right. You will find another mountaineering rope that goes up. When you get to the top, stick to the right. You will come into the mine at the exit point from story mode. The mine contains the noise makers and the passcode to the ammo workshop in the prison.
  24. **spoilers** So the door with the keypad…. Did you read the note next to the keypad? You’ll need to track down the code. Which is written in another note. Which is found in the mine. The door to the infirmary does not unlock, there is no key. Have you played episode 4? If not, you won’t have found that this area is accessed through another building. So to recap: Go find the code to the ammo room in the mine, come back and wait for an Aurora. Infirmary double door stays locked, look for another access door which takes you to the top floor. ….if you learn that there is a key for it and the lower level floor can be accessed, Please forward!!
