  1. The cause of the geomagnetic storms was a solar flare from the sun, which is in fact a real thing. In this game-world, the solar flare had 3 main effects:

    1. Destroying all unprotected electric equipment, in space and on earth.
    2. Plunging the world into a pre-mature ice-age like winter

    3. The remaining particulates from the solar flare cause Auroras that animate electronics (and wildlife!) via science-fictional methods.

It is then assumed that the rest of the world is experiencing the same thing, and it wouldn't be much better to return to the "mainland" if you ever could.

  2. My suggestion is very simple, when auto walk is enabled, a little icon should appear in the corner to indicate that it is on. It could be something like a walking figure with a circular arrow around it.

There have been many times where I think auto walk is off, but it's actually on and I almost walk off a cliff. And I've heard some people have fallen or even died because auto walk was mistakenly on.

  3. The problem is "horror game" is not a great name for it.
there really should be two catagoreys of scary game:

Horror and Unsettling. TLD in my opinion falls into the latter.

Horror should be a game that focuses on the scary elements, whereas unsettling is just that, a game with an unsettling nature

  4. The point of having only two accessory slots and more than two options is so you have to choose what to bring, and can't just wear the same things all the time. That's also why there are limited amounts of clothing slots, to force you to choose

  5. Sometimes the admins can be slow to respond. This seems like a very strange issue, especially since it broke on both windows and macOS.

A disk write error could be a whole number of issues, but since you had it on both OSs I don't know where to begin troubleshooting.

This seems like a complex bug if it is one. Only Hinterland can help you with it.

Unfortunately, the best thing you can do is wait for them to respond, or try another installation method.

You could try installing the game through a different service, such as epic games store, if that fails then the issue is truly the game files themselves.

One other issue could be your antivirus preventing the installation, do you have the same antivirus on both machines? And if so, try disabling it.

That's all I can help you with, good luck!

    Maybe this'll help with visibility:

  6. Would it be possible to have access to the font package used throughout the game? I have some projects (non-commerical) that would benefit from the font used in-game.

Does anybody have the file, or can the admins provide it? And what rights are we allowed with respect to using it?

    Thanks!

  7. Well there aren't really many situations where this would come into play. The only locks in survival mode are some of the lock-box caches in TFTFT. And if we could pick them open, it would defeat the whole purpose.
Additionally locks on car trunks and lockers already have a solution: pry-bar. Adding lock-picking would make the pry-bar almost useless.

So overall lock picking, while cool, wouldn't add much to the game.

  9. At this point i think it has to have something to do with your save file, it's probably corrupt

I had an issue where my game failed to save due to "Not enough space" despite having plenty of space. I lost about 40min of progress, but other than that the save remains intact.

If you haven't already, send in your save file for that game to the hinterland via a support ticket, sometimes they can fix it.

Let us know if you need help finding your save file's location

SpanishMoss, yes it is 12 gigabytes of RAM (8 and 4 now).  I am planning to increase RAM to 24 this coming week by switching out a 4 with a 16.

I have my graphic settings on low already but I will try increasing the amount of memory the game is allocated by looking for that option in the quality section.

    Thank you for your suggestions.

Yeah, the setting is called "Texture Streaming", try setting it higher as it will allow the game to use more memory.

And setting all the texture-based settings to lower values should also help.

Let me know if that works for you!

  11. 12 Megabytes or 12 Gigabytes? There's a very large difference lol.

And yes, the newer version of the game probably uses more memory.

Try lowering your graphics settings, particularly tree billboard distance and texture resolution, as these will contribute to a larger memory footprint. If possible, try increasing the amount of memory the game is allocated, I believe that setting is also in the quality section.
